Those who owe money ought to pay it.Just because the collector is rude does not legitimate not paying an honest debt. Violating laws restricting the method of collection are grounds for seek redress at law through civil lawsuits, assistance from administrative agencies, and state Attorney Generals.
Owing has its time barred limitation based on federal and state statutes of limitations (time before loan goes stale/expires). There are also laws, particularly the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) that limits the ways a collector may contact a debtor; and requirements of proof including to whom the debt was originally owed, how much, for what, and the authority upon which a third party has a right to collect. I have people calling me, for a person with the same name, who used to live in my town, now they google the guy's name and my info comes up, and once you square it with one of these scum bags, they sell it to another, and it just goes on and on.  I not only get phone calls for this guy, I also receive his bills in the mail, to include his child support invoices, collection agencies, and even correspondence from the IRS.  However, its the phone calls that bother me the most, they call at all hours of the day and night.

I have found the answer to all these annoying calls, it's called the Call Blocker, and it works great. I was looking for the solution to these phone calls, for years, and this is the best solution I have found yet. I bought mine on ebay, and it works like a champ.

Called for my mother in law and said they had some legal information for her that was very important and that they would like her to call them, as it would be in her benefit.

I am having the EXACT SAME problem...except its happening at a place of business with this number calling and asking for a former emplyee....who has been gone for over 2 years! Very annoyinh when trying to get work done!

They called and said they would sue me if I did not make a payment on a debt from over 6 years ago I told them i should speak to my lawyer before I do anything and he he said that's fine I will be sued and hung up to bad the address they are serving me at is over 6 years old too what a joke lol trying to scare me

for the last week or two the JDI group keeps calling my home number,they left several messages,but the person or recording spoke so slur and so mumbled that I couldn't hear or understand what the message was concerning,one message I listened to numerous times and thought it sounded like they were trying to sell me insurance,so I continued to just ignore the calls and erase the messages,then yesterday an actual person left a message said it was imparitive that I call them back as soon as possible and that they had a very urgent matter to discuss with me,so I called the number back it was 1-951-847-3979 and a 1-951-847-3970,the man trying to contact me went by the name of Mr.David Murdock,he explained to me that I supposidly wrote a bad check in the ammount of $275 7 years ago and the check was cashed AFTER I closed my bank account with US Bank,he said they are suing me for $785 plus court costs and attorneys fees,OR I could settle the matter over the phone TODAY,he also went on to tell me that if I refused to settle then an officer would be at my door on friday to summins me to court! I asked him what county I would have to go to court in and he couldn't answere that question,he couldn't tell me the check number or anything and refused to fax me a copy of it,He also went on to say that US bank was willing to settle for $500 plus they will wipe my credit clean and return it to it's original state before this check bounced,I agreed,told them I did not want to go to court over this,he asked for my credit card information and I told him to fax me the settlement letter first and then I would make the payment,and he still has not sent over the fax and they have continued to call my phone numerous times only now they are not leaving messages.I recently spoke with our 2 lawyers and they both said that it sounds like a scam,that if I have not recieved any legal documentation or letters reguarding this matter and if they do not want to answere my questions,then something isn't right,they also said that this check cashed happened 7 years ago and that goes against the statue of limitations and that even if they did take me to court it would get thrown out because of that. I am so glad I did not give them my information,I almost payed them the $500!

They called and left a very muffled voicemail, then called again 2 minutes later while I was trying to figure out what the message said.  A woman answered and put me on hold for the "manager".  A man named "David Murdock" took me off hold after 5 minutes and stated I was being sued due to a debt.  I told him that I knew that debt was being collected by another company and he began screaming "SHUT YOUR MOUTH" over and over again so I hung up.

Yeah...I received a call from someone yesterday stating that someone (did not mention company name, debt amount owed or anything) had a complaint against me and wanted to know if I had gotten any documentation in regards to "the debt".  I just hung up.  Evil debt collectors trying to use scare tactics and impersonate federal and state officials...just a bunch of losers making minimum wage, working for a company using illegal debt collection practices.  Just goes to show you that some people will take any job, doing anything, regardless of how immoral it may be.

Just got off of the phone with an attorney and they indicated that they had numerous complaints about scam collection calls from (951) 847-3970.  Attorney indicated that this number is not a collection agency!  I have secured an attorney that specializes in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (?FDCPA?) violations.  TIME TO SHUT THESE SCUM BAGS DOWN!!!

File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission , they have shut them down before . Sadly ,like a bad penny ,they keep turning up under a new name and # . Keep filing maybe they will end up in jail someday .
