this was not me. the guy scammed me also and used my name. when the law came here they were looking for a different address but with my name. i am sorry to all of you but it was not me. i don't who this guy is or nothing about him. all i have to say is we all need to be careful. they said they had caught him and that is all i know.

received a scam reply to my craigslist ad for a car for sale from mary floray - maryfloray@gmail.com  the first contact made by this person just asked if the "ad" was still available and to contact them soon.  I replied stating the vehicle was still available and i would be happy to show it.  this is the final reply i received:

i got the same message from three different people..using the same stories i just read..i dont understand why people think it is right to do something like this..im sooooo upset right now i put alot of time in to doing this..now im sitting here crying wondering why this happened

That bi*** tried to scam me! she said she put money into my paypal! but than i needed to send 500 to a delivery service but i checked the address on google an it wasnt  a delivery service! so i called paypal and it was a fishy email   her email is maryfloray13@gmail.com     dont fall for it!

I received this exact same email except she was buying it for her brother and she was over seas so could only use paypal as a method of payment ..bogus!

Mary floray responded to my craigslist listing with a story about being over seas and wanting to buy my item for her brother as a surprise so she couldn't tell him about it or have him pick it up so she said she will make payments thru paypal and then have a shipper come pick the item up ..I could tell this was a scam from the minute I read it! All I had to do was google her name to validate my suspicions ..do not fall for this persons crap stories!

I contacted a seller on craigslist for a free piano ad, and the email I received back was from a "Kelly Rowlannd"... This is the email I received from her:

My husband posted a filing cabinet on craigslist and got the e-mail about movers, being deaf and secretaries drafting checks.  We're in Tulsa OK.  Apparently these idiots are not intelligent enough to change the phone number.  Now they are going by Tommy Paul.

Well its June 2009 and its still going on....ran an ad on C/L received the same e-mail as shown in the comments section.....watch out!!!!

I see a lot of you have been scammed by answering emails about something you had for sale on Craig's List, but I am here to tell you I haven't tried to sell anything on Craig's List. What I do know is that I have been getting a lot of emails from Claiming to be from Nigeria, U.K., the F.B.I. and so forth usually I just filter them out, but they keep coming as different email addresses. Finally, I decided to respond with nothing more than an F.U. The next day, that morning, I get the calls that someone suspicious has tried to use one of my credit cards in which has never been lost or stolen, but has been used to make a couple of purchases on the internet and the acct. number sits in My Documents. Also, has been put on file with Pay Pal, but I have two different credit cards on file with Pay Pal, and the other has not been jeopardized, so I don't think that's it. What I do think is that this is a highly sophisticated organization, and that when you open up an email, they have your I.P. address and know everything about your computer's system and are able to attack it in some way and attach a spy ware cookie of some sort and see all the places you go to on your computer. I am going to now delete my cookies, and am considering an I.P. blocker type of software or have my I.P. address changed if that is possible. This situation to me is very scary.

I received two phone calls on 6/5/09, one from a Best Buy out of Michigan where an order was placed from Florida for a Nintendo ($400.00 and something), the other from Provantage Corp. where they placed another call from Florida for an expensive ink cartridge. They both said the orders seemed suspicious. They apparently obtained my credit card number somehow. The one lady from Provantage Corp. told me they tried to use a relay service claiming they were deaf. She also gave me some info: Soft Layer Technologies Inc. USA, I.P. address: 75.126.32.187, VLadiamir R., 951-566-4859, RioDave80@yahoo.com. I researched some info so far and came up with an internet Provider somewhere in China, and some address in Dallas Texas 1950 Stemmons Freeway Suite 2043 and some relationship to some junk emails claiming to be from the U.K., Nigeria, Australia, Canada, all scam emails.

A scammer with the email address peter_miller35@yahoo.com gave me this phone number because he says he's hearing impaired. He answered our posted ad on CraigsList and gave us a similar story that I just read about that was posted by someone else. He said the bank accidentally sent a $2000 "draft" instead of the $350 we asked for and could we please cash it at our bank then take the remainder to Western Union addressed to his "pick up man"...blah blah blah...so report it.

My issue is that this came from "Jeff Bnaks" or Jeff Banks - and the yahoo address is jeffbnks1@yahoo.com and disturbingly is DOMAIN KEYS VERIFIED - I am sending this email and the thread to Yahoo.
