This company CPR my career is a scam phishing call center that tries to bait and switch with promises of a potential job (of course you get no real information about the job) then switches you off to a Warren Elkin financial retirement person who wants what little money you have to put in his pocket. They have an F rating at the BBB. They also go by other names so be warned. Just hang up.

CPR My Career is a FRAUDULENT company preying on unemployed people or people who have their resumes posted on Monster.com and other sites. They are POSING as a job placement company and poaching contact info from Monster.com, Career Builder, Beyond.com, etc. so they can sell people investment products. There is NO career help; it's just a scam to get people on the hook so they can sell them annuities.

Avoid these con artists and report them to Monster.com and the other job search sites.

This is at least the fifth name this phony operation (John Schrup) has used since 2008 - Trident, Outplacement Services of America, Strategic Financial Partners, Work Save Retire, CPR  My Career.

Received two voice mails from 952-479-6362 within an hour.  Sounded like a scripted message wanting me to call them back and that my resume had been elevated to their recruiting team.  I do remember seeing a HR job I posted that had their name attached, but thought it was a recruiting company and didn't think to much about it.  After reading the numerous posts, I think I will just ignore it and keep looking.  Appreciate everyone's comments to help me know more about this company.

Scam!  CPR called me from 952-479-6362 and was unable to tell me where they found my contact info except "their recruitment team received my resume" which means they post fake job openings at job boards.  They did not ask what job function I can perform but all they care is money.  "How much are you making?" "What is your salary range?" "How much money you have in your 401K?".  Sure enough, then they started trying to sell me their financial management services.

In theory their services are good--meet with a financial planner in exchange for career search tools, but their tools do not work.  Half the time the site is down and the other half of the time you get passed around from person to person with no answers.  Their CEO emailed me all these sincere sounding emails but in the end they all totally dropped the ball on me and I am soooooo unimpressed.

Scam.  I got a call with the same "your resume has been elevated" message.  I tracked it back to CPR My Career, who probably got my info from a job posting.  I suspected the job was fake, so I fed the application some BS info, and lo and behold CPR called me.
How did I know the job was fake?  Because it was a listing for an Automotive Assembly Process Engineer in the small suburb next to mine.  I've lived here for 15 years, and there is no automotive-anything industry in this state any more, much less next door to me.  Total scam.

I got a call from 852-479-6350, from CPR My Career. A different number than the one shown above - I'll report it under that number. Supposedly a search and recruitment firm but the rep spent more time talking about their services for retirement planning and transitioning your retirement accounts from one employer to another. I don't think this is a legitimate recruitment firm.

I will update this, I have a call set up with a recruiter, supposedly. I received a call on Tuesday 10/22/13 and spoke with a David from CPR, telling me all the great things they are willing to do for me. All sounded great, to great, I've dealt with recruiters before, they are straight forward, this did have a different feel to it, and the whole financial adviser questions was rather odd.

Was hoping for the best, but all these postings leave me at about 50% on the belief measure. I also agree with some of the previous comments, seemed scripted, they (David), didn't seem to know as much about my experience as he should have, for having my resume, he did have my email, so they are getting a little better on what they should have available to sound believable.

We shall see how this second call goes....

Prank Call
These calls irritate me, a guy leaves me a message he has my Resume for a Plant Manager position, I am an experienced one. For sure posted a Job on monster or carreerbuilder to retrieve names and numbers, with the excuse of having a Job for you they make the call. DO NOT ANSWER THESE JOB OFFERS!. The way this is figured is devious. Being unemployed is difficult and these idiots do not help to make things better.

Got a call from "Abigail" at "CPR My Career" (952-479-6349 - different number but same pitch). She was well spoken and nice, but she also sounded much like a sales person reading from a script and less like a recruiter trying to match a position to the right person. I was suspicious.

Ultimately, I got the impression they were trying to qualify leads and gather emails - to get people to use their "recruiting and outplacement services" and then pitch their "complementary one-on-one session with a professional financial analyst to plan for their fiscal future."

When I asked about the specific position I was contacted about, I was told by "Abigail" she was a pre-screener and not actually a recruiter. There was no position. Furthermore, she said she wanted my email address to send more info and to give me access to their tools; she said she didn't have my email address - something that's readily available to legitimate recruiters on the major job boards. I declined to give my email address and I'm inclined to think this is simply sales positioned with a "job opportunity" hook. No thanks.

My husband applied for a job online and was cold-called by CPR my Career. They wanted that my husband meet with a local (Atlanta) financial advisor as the first step toward career placement with them. The financial advisor they recommended was Mark B. Fricks. I thought that this was a strange request so I did some research. I found that Mr. Fricks was Fined And Suspended For Equity Indexed Annuities Sales by FINRA in August 2012.

(1) I would NEVER do business with any company that sends people to a stockbroker who has been suspended and fined by FINRA.
(2) I can't believe that CPR my Career would send people to an financial advisor without doing their research beforehand.  It took me about 15 minutes to find out about Mr. Fricks via Google.

BEWARE!

Company called my husband in response to a job he applied for online.  First step was to set up an appointment for him to meet with a local financial planner that they use (supposedly).  Why in the world would we want to meet with one of their financial planner?  No mention of the job he applied for.  SCAM, I say.

Got a vm from Mike at CPR My Career in reference to a job posting.  I am always a bit apprehensive when the caller doesn't specify the position in question.  So, I Googled, of course they are just another company running a scam.   This is the second call from shady companies.

Received the call from Kristy at CPRmycareer who, when asked, didn't know where my resume came from or any specifics about opportunities in my area (which she didn't know). My job search is very specific so I don't post on boards, just direct contact on job openings and opportunities. I told her I would check this service out and to call me back 2 days later. All indications of my search show that this is an assistance service such as resume tools and interview guidance equal to anything you can get anywhere including your local Labor Dept. But this is a teaser to get you to utilize their financial services as a trusted partner in your job search. When Kristy called back I declined the offer but remained curious as to how they had my resume. I had suspicion of a certain job posting so I asked a colleague to send his resume to it and later that day he also received a call from CPRmycareer. So, their posting specific jobs to target specific professionals and income levels to pitch financial services to. Be VERY CAUTIOUS of this company!!!  And good luck in your future endeavors.

I just spoke to a woman from CPR My Career who saw my résumé on Monster and said that since the company is based in Minnisota I would have to meet with Steve Parker in Orland Park ,Il.  Instead of discussing my qualifications the discussion centered on retirement solutions.  I see in a previous post that Steve Parker was in North Carolina and now he seems to be in Illinois so he really gets around.

I asked them for login information so I could see for myself how "great" these tools really are. The reply was "our site is down so I will email you the information and when it is back up you can check things out". That was 5 day a go and I am still waiting.
