These people keep calling me and won't leave a message. Nobody in my family has had an accident or been in the hospital recently so there is no reason why they should be calling. I seriously doubt that this is legitimate.

I received a call from this number and a message was left by a nurse with United Healthcare. I called back and the nurse mentioned that she worked in partnership with my employer to coordinate care. I had recently been in a major accident and she wanted to make sure I was getting everything I needed. This is legit and, at least in my case, was a great service offered by my insurance company and my employer.

Preventative care in the near term often prevents more expensive care down the road. Those that talk about insurance companies only wanting to make profit need to consider that. If my insurance makes sure I have the tools I need to stay healthy today, they won't need to pay for expensive treatments tomorrow. It saves them money. Just my 2 cents worth.

These calls have not relented and have been going on for more than two months.(since my recent stay in hosp) There are usually 2 calls in one day, (morning and afternoon) and usually twice a week, sometimes more.  I never answer.  The lady usually leaves a message stating  she is a registered nurse with UHC calling on behalf of my husband's company (she states the name of the company).  Later, I get a letter in the mail stating that I was not able to be contacted by phone and listed a call back name and number. I don't want to talk to anyone (Legit or not) and I don't care if they are asking how I'm doing and if I need anything.  I think there is obviously something in it for them or else they wouldn't be so persistent.

I never answer these calls because I don't want to talk to them.

Glad to hear you are doing well.  Since when would a nurse call to find out if I need anything and from long distance??  She isn't my doctor and can't make medical decisions for me.  Also, two different "nurses" called on the same day hours apart with the same ole spiel and from a completely different phone number showing up on my caller ID.  I don't know how I could verify if she were really an RN only by what she tells me.  Again, if there was any problem, I would call my doctor  or dial  911.  Other posts I have read state they have never done business with this company, so it leaves me wondering what they are really up to.  It's nice to think there is someone out there who cares, however most of the time there is usually an agenda on their part and sometimes all they accomplish is waste your time.

Hello Elle.  I was in the hospital a couple of times in the past 15 months (they saved my life after I had a Heart Attack while in the Hospital Waiting Room to be present for a family member, and they saved my life - then, a year later, I had a polyp that was causing me to lose blood from internal bleeding).  Both times, there were follow-up calls to check on my health.  In fact, after I was released due to my quintuple bypass, I had a Nurse who would stop by my home to check on me.  After she was convinced that my heath was okay, she stopped visiting.  The phone calls that I received were ABSOLUTELY welcomed, the Nurse was Professional and compassionate, and I appreciate everything they have done for me.  I know what it's like to expect Privacy, but these people are truly there to help you.  I don't know about the other nonsense comments I've read on this site, but yours sounds exactly like mine.  RELAX.....  I know how you feel.  Right after I got out of the Hospital (both times), my initial reaction was "I'm finished being poked and prodded.... LEAVE ME ALONE" (I had to be readmitted becase the initial IV that they started became infected, and they had to switch to the other arm and then stuck in a PICC - which goes into the heart to deliver meds.... but the Nurse who did so was A PRO!!... and did this quickly and painlessly).  But then I Relaxed and let them do what they were there to do.  Then, only then, did I really appreciate that they were there to help me get better.  I'm very lucky to have been born and raised in this Country, the GREATEST COUNTRY in the WORLD!  Hopefully, things will work out just as well for you.  Sometimes all you have to do is take a second and breathe,... and then try to make sense of things.  I wish you and your Husband well and continued good-health.  God Bless....

Event Reminder
Yes, it's for United Healthcare Group, and it's a Nurse calling to follow-up on my Treatment.  About 14 months ago, I was visiting my father in the Hospital (he was having a procedure which required an overnight stay).  While I was in the Waiting Room Area, I suffered a myocardial infarction and was literally dead staring at a wall across from me (my sister noticed that I wasn't breathing or blinking and got the attention of the medical staff, and a quintuple bypass later ensued).  Then, a couple of months ago I had some serious internal bleeding and was admitted to the Hospital.  A couple of colonoscopies later, they determined that I had a tumor in my secum (the little pouch that connects your upper and lower intestines), and they cauterized it (a biopsy revealed it was benign.... PHEW!).  I've had no problems since, but they are surely calling to check on my health.  The Nurse left a Message which ID'd her as my Case Worker, and I returned her call but got her voicemail.  It's nice knowing that they care enough to follow-up and check on my health!  I've talked with her before and she's a VERY nice woman!

The lady left a message for my son (who had recently been in the hospital) claiming she was an RN with UHC and calling on behalf of my  my husband's employer (she stated the name of his company).  She left a phone number and extension.  The number she left did not match my insurance company. I googled the number and found out something that it was a company conducting surveys.  I guess that's why the caller ID showed up as "unknown".  If UHC was calling I'm sure it would have shown up as such and even so I don't think I would answer.   I am sure everything is handled through the mail.  ie (missing info, reason for a claim, etc.) on their letterhead.
I don't need anyone calling me and asking if I need anything.  I would have the sense enough to call my own doctor and if I have a problem with my insurance, believe me they will hear from me.

I received several calls from 952-367-8000 but since they left no message or even a name, I did not return the call.  Checking online, I learned this was from United Health Care.  I've never taken out a policy with this company or ever done business with them.  My approach is to always delete their calls and never respond to them.

This is United Healthcare and because of HIPPA medical rules for not sharing information, they must verify that they are speaking to the right person.  They follow-up with patients with chronic illnesses to ensure they are doing well and to keep them that way.  They are a liaison between you and your doctor.  My nurse calls once or twice a month.  It has helped me tremendously.

It is an RN from United Healthcare calling - they call periodically to check how my pregnancy/appts are going.  They've been very helpful and informative thus far.  I am actually glad they call.

This number has called me two times that last couple of days.  They said that there are fraudulant charges being filed against you, for fraudulant charges linked to your social security number.  When I called the number back they did not tell me what company they were with.  The lady (Jamie) I talked to was really nice, she asked me my last name and then my first name and she said; "I don't have you the federal database, can you give me your phone number."  I gave her my cell number since that is the number they called and she told me that it was for a Virgil something.  I told her that this has been my number for the last 6 years.  She was like okay I will remove that number.  Thank you for calling.

I really let the lady know not to call again.  This company has been told not to call us. My husband is in a nursing home on Medicaid, therefore he does not need to be told about his medicines.  I kept getting calls telling to get a flu shot or get my RX refilled.  I told them that I am not senile and therefore do not need to be reminded to see my doctor, or get my RX filed or get my flu shot.  It takes a while to get to a human being.

Well, so you say:

BUT, here's a story -  I was receiving treatment for a fall I took in my own home.  Insurance was paying just fine

THEN I got one of these calls and in the course of chit chat conversation I mentioned that on top of everything else someone had rear ended my car a couple of weeks after I fell..

GUESS what - all of a sudden my insurance doesn't want to pay anymore

They claim the car accident was causing my pain and the driver's insurance should pay

Of course the drivers insurance won't pay because I was already hurt and the Doctor said the very minor bump DID NOT make the injury worse...

I do not think that is paranoia - just intelligence

OF course insurance companies will do anything to get out of paying claims - they want to push you off onto Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, someone else's insurance!

NEVER LIE of course but sometimes something minor or unrelated will be used against you

You Dr or your own nurse can help you with any programs you need.

Both my husband and I receive calls from the United Healthcare Nurse. It's not a scam, but it is annoying. They seem to think they can help you by talking to you over the phone after you've seen numerous doctors and tried numerous sorts of treatment.  I'm not sure why United Health Care is putting out money for these "nurses" to call you; they must be trying to save money somehow/someway otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. They seem to call when you have an on-going condition and are probably trying to "save" money on your claims. The nurse claims to want to help you with your condition, but they are more annoying than helpful. For some conditions, there is really no cure, only "management" with prescription drugs or annual check ups/ct scans/ultrasounds/lab tests. As far as no one answering, often computers call the numbers and there is a delay in pick up on the other end. If another call goes through first, your call is dropped, they don't hear you answer, but then then call your number again later.

This isn't a scam!!! It really is an Rn with a program that UHC made me sign up with in order to get benefits paid for infertility treatments! I think this program is complete total bs since the Rn has nothing to do with UHC but that is who's calling from this number.

As several people have correctly indicated, this is an incoming number from United Health Care (UHC). For me personally it is a registered nurse from UHC who is assigned to my specific medical case. This nurse and this program are coordinated through my company's benefit's department.

Oh, the Internet and its paranoid attention-seeking messageboard posters who regard all activity as scams; they are probably the same people who post negative ratings for every business.

Fries, you nailed it! This is exactly how it works, and they only check your address and date of birth to make sure they are talking to the correct person and don't violate any privacy rules by discussing your condition with the wrong person, even your spouse!

I too got a call from 952-367-8000 with caller ID Unitedhealthgrp. Because of the caller ID and the fact that I do have United Healthcare, I answered it, rather than let it go to voicemail.  The caller said he was from United and asked me to verify my birthdate, which I did and then asked for my address and I became suspicious, so I told him that I wasn't comfortbale giving out info on the phone. Hesaid he understood and told me to call 888-866-8295 ext 30484  to verify that they were associated with United.  I feel that they should tell the recipient of the call to verify that their birthdate & address are correct so we know that they have that info in the first place, Otherwise, how do they know if what I am telling them is correct.  I am reluctant to call them back with all the scams that are out there and identity theft.

We do not need some one to call us to discuss our medical needs.  We will place/make that call ourselves with our own Doctor.  Don't care if this is a service / benefit what good is it if they call in the morning when we're at WORK, not home!

From previous poster..." Just like part of your Insurance Plan has a toll free number to call if you feel suicidal or depressed or a victim of something."   Good to know cause I suppose I would be using some one elses land-line phone to make THE call.

This number is a Support Services Group contracted with United Healthcare -   It is a good will patient oriented phone call designed to help you with whatever you may need.  They call every patient to follow up and let them know there are different support groups to help you, or to even answer your questions directly.  They help patients with all types of prognosis and healthcare issues from Diabetes to Pregnancies to Cancer.  So it does not meany anything wrong when they call you - nor do they call only the most serious cases.  They will call to see if you had questions about a lab report, of if you have diabetes they will go over with you any questions you might have about your diet, etc.  It is part of your Insurance Plan.  Just like part of your Insurance Plan has a toll free number to call if you feel suicidal or depressed or a victim of something.

I wish I would have read this page before I spoke to this imposter today.  I was just released from ICU last week and didn't think anything of it.  What I want to know is how are these people geetting our information so fast...Wow!  That was really fast.  Someone, somehow must be leaking or selling our information out for them to even be able to call us.  They called from 763 327 3899 The day before.
