Debt Collector
Chris Campbell from 952-288-2786 called looking for my ex wife.  He's been calling a bunch.  I let her know and she told me no need to be polite or assist.  GREAT! I love harassing debt collectors.
When I returned the call he answered "This is Mr. Campbell". When I replied "Mr?" and then cracked up he almost blew a pipe.  Tone changed instantly.  He was just starting to say something about "Well now I'm going to...." I cut him off, called him an a**-hat f****ard, and then hung up.

Made my morning.

Why dont people like "YOU" get a grip, and realize that people dont choose to be broke, out of work, and wanting!! It's "elitist attitude fools" like yourself, that are blinded to the TRUTH, and think you are above it ALL, and are NOT!! Unless your are part of the billionaire chosen 1%...its just a matter of time, before it will affect you too. You are being sadly misled into thinking it will NEVER happen to you.... WRONG, unless you are independently wealthy, have investments in commodities that are "tangible," (GOLD SILVER, DIAMONDS etc) where is you security?  You are two words away from existing or not, (Your hired, Your Fired)
Get a clue, take a GOOD look at the signs around you, and if you have ears to "hear" and eyes to "see," you wake up  and smell the coffee! Shalom.

PS And shame on those people, that make that "kind" of income off another persons woe!

This person called the job site an said he needed to speak with m*** L*** I told him this person was not available I asked for a call back number and company name and the person was very rude and said something about federal laws cannot give out personal information. I told them that the employees of the workplace cannot take personal calls. He said he wanted to speak with my boss and I hanged up. I'm reporting this number because of they need to speak with someone they need to find other ways to contact. and not be harassing.

in addition and reply to ec...
it is against the law for them to even contact you're contact person. it is also against the law for them to contact you outside of normal business hours  OF THE TIME ZONE THEY ARE CALLING TO NOT FROM.

You can also send cease and desist letters via fax if your sending machine can print verification of send.

I received a call from MARY ANN SMITHE for my daughter's ccard and when I recognized the name - already sent a cease and desist letter via FAX and certified mail.  Anyway, I asked her if this was a bill collector she responded it's a personal business matter. I said good, put it in writing and do not contact me again. You have just committed the 4th TCPA violation which I will be filing suit for.  Thank you and have a great night!"

She honestly thought I would still pass on a message to my daughter! :) (BTW, it's for a debt that was paid in full almost 5 years ago when my daughter sued Bank of America for violation of the TCPA on an account that was paid off to begin with but that's another story)

If more people would take action, these places would be out of business!

Recieved a call from David Murphy from this number at my work. I was unavailable so a message was taken for me. I had no idea who it was and thought it had something to do with my work, the number that was  left for me to call back was 1-800-215-6862 I called and left a polite message. When he called me back I asked what I could do for him. He said well you called me. At this point I explained he called me first and I called him back and he then interupted and said " and here we are" I again asked what I could do for him. He started spouting off peoples names and private information to me over the phone (names adresses and other personnal info) and I had to stop him and say what does this have to do with me or my work place. He said "your a client of ours arent you?" I said "I don't have a clue who you are or what this is about" He said "oh I'm sorry I have the wrong info on my computer, can you call me back in five minutes so I can have the correct info on my screen to talk to you about?" I just hung up the phone at that point.

Also I checked all three credit reporting agencies and made sure they all show a $0 balance on my accounts and they do.  It took a couple of months for them to update it.

Have two messages on my ansering machine within hours of each other.  One-english speaking male and one-spanish speaking female.  The female did NOT switch to english when I answered the phone with hello three-times--she did pause then continued in spanish.  I hung up--hard!  Will send letter for cease communications via certified mail and return receipt as suggested by the poster who detailed who and how.

Nearly every "new" home phone number assigned to me by AT&T since 2006 has been from a bad credit person and their bad credit family.  FYI, I have not had any credit for almost two decades.  I am so tired of skip tracers NOT doing what they are PAID to do...FIND and COLLECT from the debitor for their client.

They are repeatedly calling me for no reason and are not even sure I am the person they are trying to reach. I understand from research that they are a collection agency. There is nothing that I owe to anyone.

Sue these people. they have no claim, sue for fraud, consumer protection, fair debt, TCPA, and put in the lawsuit that if during the discovery there are other victims, then ask for class action status.

I just got a call and they asked for my landlord by name.  How they got my number from him I do not know.  He said that he never gave it out.  Besides, my cell has a totally different area code so it just doesn't make sense how they got it.  When I called back, it took three times to find out what their company name was and just that they were in financial services.

I know that my landlord has very shaky finances.  He is a self-employed contractor who never seems to go to work and winds up renting the houses that he is trying to flip.  We pay the rent a week early to help "float" his finances.  We stay because it is a low enough rent and it would be the last house that he would lose in a crisis.

This is very strange.  I just received a call from this number asking for my son's ex-fiances mother.  My son and I have not seen these people in years, so the whole situation is very unsettling.  How did they get my number and why are they asking for someone I have had no contact with in 2-3 year?

Since your credit is already ruined when credit collectors called.  You can simply ignore them and let the whole thing slide for a couple of years.  By then your no response no contact will force your debt to be sold and resold to other debt collectors for pennies to the dollar.  Then contact the last debt collector and settle for 10 cents to the dollar.  Once settled make sure the debt is removed from your credit report.

I received a call from Chris Campbell from Viking Collection Service on a Friday but had not received any paperwork from them  in the mail yet.  I did not call back.  On Monday I received a letter from them regarding my Chase bank account.  Before I could get to the office on Tuesday, he had already called my office again, called my mother, and called my former roommate as these were the prior numbers I had listed.  I called Chase first to confirm they had turned it over to Viking and they confirmed they had.  I then proceeded to call Viking and talk with Chris Campbell.  He was great.  I had been asking Chase for a settlement offer for the past 6 months and was told they could not help me.  I asked Chris what type of settlement we could agree on as I have just gone through a divorce and have only my divorce settlement money to work with as I was downsized from my job in 2009 and restarted my business doing the same type of job independently and am just earning enough to pay my basic expenses.  We were able to agree to me paying 45% on a balance just over $20,000.  I felt this was fair and I overnighted the check to him and received a confirmed settlement payoff the very next day on Wednesday.  I may have been able to hold out and get a lower settlement but for me it would not have been worth the aggravation, stress and time.  I was very happy with my whole experience after having read all the negative things on this site and was worried about what I would go through.  Chris was very professional and kind.

you must be one trying to collect. If the cc companies had not been so quick to jumpo rates out of site when the crunch hit then a lot of folks would not be in this shape. They also went up on cards that had lifetimerates and there is a class action lawsuit aganist thenm right now.
If the cc companies had been willing to work with card holders they would not be having to try and use debt collectors.
I had 5000 card that was at 4500 they jumped the rate from 4 % to 29 % and raised the monthly payment
No amount of begging did any good and they finally said why not just filer bankruptcy or go to a debt consoladation comapny
The thrid  month I did not pay they were willing to drop to a 6 % rate and even lower the amount but then it counted as income.
Told them no
So before running your head check why folks are mad in the first place

Bill, have you ever been laid off from a job? And then started another job only to get laid off once again? Maybe had a successful business and the government changed its regulations so you went out of business? Yep, that is me. Some of us folks have always paid our bills on time but have gone through company wide and departmental layoffs. Unemployment pays me about 25% of what I used to make. So, food and housing first and everything else after. No, I'm not lazy as I'm applying for approximately 6-10 jobs every single day, including jobs that pay $10 an hour whereas I once made 6 figures a year.
