Just got a call, but missed it. They left a message saying they were looking to buy property "in [my] zip code" and were interested in buying my house (I don't have a house) as long as there was "no equity".
I wonder if it's a new scam, or a universal cloaking number.

Some companies have computers dial numbers looking for "live" pickups and use these to make lists they sell to telemarketers, who pay for lists of numbers where someone answered. If the computer is making a call, there's no one to answer it, that's why they seem to hang up. The number should be reported regardless, and the caller prosecuted for any violation they've committed.

I don't see how it could be BoA. I do not have nor ever had a loan with them. I have no home loan at all and I got a call from this number on my cell phone. I did not answer it and no message was left.

It is BoA and you should pickup. Looks like I will save my house. I almost didn't pickup. I know have 72 hours to finish 3 more paper work items. And I get my home loan modified.

I Got the same Call Today!! I recently complain to Bank of America about their Loan Modification Program and how they send out fake letters to homeowners claiming they are still "Missing" documents... a bunch of B***s***. I got a hold of the Regulatory office for the Office of President & told them that I had complain to the Attorney General. Just two days ago.. Now they are calling....

I received from 954-000-0000... Figured it was some telemarketer disguising his number, so I ignored the call?. As I was Googling the number, and found this website, I received an email from Bank of America regarding my loan modification request, and the guy?s direct number was 954-837-xxxx (not giving his number)
I instantly recognized the area code and thus played the voicemail and it was the same guy?.
So if you are working with Bank of America on a modification, this seems a legit phone call.
