I keep getting these calls. One from this number and 4 others. They all call, I answer, and then they hang up. Sometimes I think I hear breathing meaning it's not a robot right? Anyway this is getting super annoying.

Not afraid just don't want to be bothered by some slob I don't know. It's my phone and I can treat callers anyway I choose. People who call me are intruding on my privacy.

When I get a call I don't recognize, after checking out the number, I enter it into my phone as 'Ignore'. If they ever call back I just follow my own instructions.

1st call from them. No message left. Caller ID said simply "Florida". Guessing it is a generic auto warranty scam like most here are saying. Logging for blocking next time.

I tried to put this number on call block I received message that if the fourth didgit in the telephone number is a 0 or 1 that it is an invalid number.

Just received my second call from this number. Yes, it's about purchasing an extended warranty on your car. She was polite and knew what kind of car I have AND THAT IT'S BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR THREE YEARS (not two, as one might think since it's a 2011). This tells me that either dealerships or the State sell this information. She told me my warranty had expired. I pretended interest and asked her how should would know that. She said that the warranty is only for 36 months from when the car is on the road. I told her I had the standard warranty and she said I must have bought an extended warranty from the dealer. I told her that 5 years is the standard warranty on my car - no matter who I bought it from. These are liars hoping that they will scare someone into purchasing an unnecessary warranty.

I was recruited by CIA via Linkedin. After clicking I am interested, it took me to the CIA webpage on jobs information. Within 2 minutes I got this call while I was on their page. I did not answer as I don't answer to unknown numbers because they are mostly telemarketers. But now I wonder if it was the CIA trying to talk to me as they contact you, you can't approach the CIA seeking for a job.

This number calls about once every month. I never answer, they never leave messages. I believe its a shady caller who is fishing for info from a victim who will actually respond and answer questions. I wish I could report it but at least we have this forum to express its shadiness.

This caller is using an invalid, spoofed phone number. They left no message. Honest people don't do that. Beware!

I too received numerous phone calls from this number. It always comes up with a V in head of the string of numbers on my caller ID followed most likely by a spoofed phone number. I never answer anything that I don't recognize either the caller ID or the phone number as you don't need that many scam phone calls and once you pick up the phone the robocaller machine marks it as an actual phone number. This gives them license to really beef up the harassing phone calls numerous times daily. But I have found out that Nebraska's Secretary of State sells the motor vehicle information, such as name, address, and vehicle information including the VIN number to telemarketing firms to make money for the state coffers as Nebraska is a state that the state constitution does not allow borrowing money to balance the state budget. I thought it was a really tacky rip-off of the state's residents, but then another political move that the residents have no say in the matter and somehow make the politician end up looking good among his political pals and peers. So I am assuming that ones phone number may also be included in this information that is sold to the highest bidder. So this is a possibility in other states that the motor vehicle information is also sold to make money for the state.

Called here today. I don't usually answer these calls, but am trying to get quotes from different companies to ship my car across country, so I answered. The person on the other end asked for my husband by his first name only. I said he wasn't home. They immediately hung up.
The number is not valid for return calls because it is spoofed.
Anybody using a spoofed number is a scammer. Period. Don't answer. They're crooks.

These are probably the same ones that send you information on your vehicles you own for warranty extension through the mail, and since you haven't bit their scam now they are going to harass you by calling you on the phone. These are the type of scams that need to be stopped and those people put away in jail. The only thing they could be just about anywhere, now with Magic Jack or call forwarding these outfits get a phone number and can use it anywhere they want and move about just to stay ahead of any kind of trace.

Number keeps calling my cell number. Tried to call back and call would not go through.
John 2013-12-06 19:17:18 Unknown
Same number called my home phone at 2:04 EST. Male caller had foreign accent, probably from India and named Bob. Very short and curt, and asked for my wife by first name. The conversation ended at that point when I slammed the phone down. I was not interested enough to try a call back to return the shortness and curtness. I love to play phone games with these people. Last week another one called from a different number. Asked for my wife by first name and I said, "That's me." Then I got the sales pitch about my computer being infected and sending out notices. I laid the phone down and walked away. No one on the line when I returned from the bathroom.

I posted a comment yesterday which was apparently removed. I used a very shady auto transport company to take my car cross country. Came to mind with all the people mentioning callers had knowledge of their vehicle.

They've called my cell a couple of times. I didn't answer. No message. I haven't had anything to do with student loans. .

just called 6:10, asking about a old car I had, had my name right, then hung up
jt 2013-12-05 22:07:12 Unknown
Problem is, if they know there is a live person on the line they keep calling, many times its just a ROBO call but if answered will keep it up. Too bad we have to ignore the calls, may miss one we want to talk to.
smkudelko 2013-12-05 21:58:24 Unknown
Caller does not leave a voicemail or message. When I call the number, I receive a "Your call can not be completed as dialed." message.
Isis B. 2013-12-05 21:55:06 Unknown
Received phone call from this number at 4:30 pm. Had answering machine turned off so there was no message. I have family in Florida but knew this was not an actual phone number because it has the 082...I just let the phone ring. We seem to receive a LOT of bogus calls originating from erroneous numbers. I have added this number to the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. It is annoying!
