This board is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!  It doesn?t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  The caller ID number is usually a ?Spoof Number? ? A Fake!  Never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robocallers will then capture your number as a ?live one? and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.  The same goes if it prompts you to ?press a key? to ?opt out?  of their calling lists, or be transferred to someone, as this will only ?log? your number as a working one and make it ripe for future calls and to be sold to other scam companies as well.
The best option is simply to hang up, keep your own list of calling numbers with dates and times and report them to the FCC below.  There is space on their complaint form to list several calling dates and times of a repeat caller.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

Have received about 4 calls from this number, have pressed 1 to speak to someone. I have told them
repeatedly that I do not have credit cards nor credit card debt to please remove my number from their
call list. I have been told each time that they would remove it, but got another one today. I pressed 1
AGAIN and heard some woman talking to someone in the background, and I said hello, and the women
said stop talking in my fu----- ear !!!!! At this point I hung up. I am on the do not call list, which apparently
doesn't work.

Another telemarketer that TimeWarner sold my phone number to when I inquired about buying a cable package.

It's really a damned shame that in this day and age you can't even call a business to ask for their services without them selling your information to someone.

First I thought it was my cousin who lives in Ft.Lauderdale, but didn't recognize number.  It was one of the Rachel type calls about interest reducing on credit card.   Am blocking the number.   Panasonic has phones that block up to 30 numbers.   I have been doing this since November 2011.  I must have blocked and reblocked  hundreds of these calls.   I go through it every 60 days and get rid of those who have not called during that time.   I checked on Amazon and they had 2 devices you attach to your phone that blocks calls.  They were under $100 and I would get it if you have so many unwanted calls.   First, if you get a call withing the state you live, contact the Attorney General of the state for consumer complaints.  The Do not call list is a joke!  They do nothing!!

Received another recorded robocall from this company offering information on providing lower interest rates.  They did not give a company name and there was no name on caller ID.  I also filed a complaint with donotcall.gov but who knows if they ever bother to read those complaints.

I got a call from that number today and someone left a message - all I heard was some woman yelling "J.... "C.....! ". I never pick these calls up but I was surprised to get a voicemail.

A recording saying she was Jennifer (talking real loud) about my credit card services. I hung up.

No caller ID just cell phone. Caller identified himself as being from the Pensacola Police Department and stated that a contributor would get a Police courtesy card and window decal. I informed him that I was a retired Police officer and with that he seemed to be delighted. I then said that I knew that fund raisers get 80% and the police dept. gets 20%, so I get directly to the department and I hung up. They didn't call back.

Same as posts above. Added this number to my growing list of blocked calls. The do not call list is one more government waste of time and money.

Just got a call from them yesterday.  Did not answer.  Played back message and it said we are calling about your credit card account.  "There is nothing wrong with your account we just want to help you lower your interest rate".  I went out and bought a small air horn.   Next time I get a call from one of these numbers I will answer, wait till I get a live voice and blast away.  I figure after I bust a few eardrums the calls will stop.

You are not alone.  Junk calls are particularly hurtful to those of us with elderly relatives.  I KNOW that horrible feeling that you get EVERY time the phone rings, legit or not.  We cannot just ignore the phone, and can't turn off that sick feeling that we get with every ringing phone.  I shamefully wish that the persons responsible for all the junk calls one day have infirmed elderly loved ones, so they will understand what it's like to dread a ringing phone and feel that heart sinking, gut wrenching fear to which they are subjecting us.

I'm sure my story is not new. My mother is elderly and I jump with every phone call that there is trouble with her. I am receiving calls from this damn company on a daily basis and really need them to stop.

Received same call today (Mon -Jan14, 2013) and your comments are correct in that they use different phone numbers each time and opting out only helps to identify your phone number!  You block this number and they come back again and again.  Very frustrating!!!!!
