I got the similar phone call. I started asking them questions and he got angry that I am enquiring him. Its total fraud.

Echo sysem scam said they were from the irs and their is a warrant for my arrest if I didnt pay my taxes so he was going to connect me with the payment center so I could pay my taxes

I received a call from  tel # 954-287-8417, (my caller id said CALL CENTRE VOIP), who knew my first name and proceeded to leave me a voicemail with an accent (think it was Dominican) saying that he was 'officer Jay calling from the State Dept', (which state and which department he never mentioned, which therefore screams total scam) and said I was named in 3 violations and it was imperative that I call back a different tel # 209-207-7834. Completely ignore anything to do with these 2 numbers.

Receicved a call for this number, did not answer it, I let it to to my machine, no message left.

Got a call from this number with following message

This message goes out for Firsname Lastname. My name is officer Mark Walker and I am calling from State Investigation department.The purpose of my call is to inform that we have received a legal affidavit against your name and your identity and there are 3 federal chareges pressed against you.So make sure you return this call and verify yourself. You can reach me at 209-207-7834. I repeat the number is 209-207-7834, failing to which legal actions will be taken against you. Thank you.

And now I have verify myself, huh? And what is State Investigation Department - does not exist in US. And this seems to non-native English from somewhere using some VoIP to scam us.

Received several calls today from this number. No response when I answered. CID says ECHOSYSTEMS.

The Person on the other end is not very clear in speaking English. I  could not make out what global co that she said that she was trying to represent but it did not sound real to me and she wanted me to go
to my computer and log on because my computer was sending signals to the Microsoft data and  telling me that they needed to fix it. I told her that she was calling a cell phone and that this was not the first time that they have called and that they need to stop calling me because I did not have a computer!

Got a call from 9542788417 a few days back. On picking up a girl responded and giggled. No conversation. Hung up. Called my number again today but got to my voicemail but left no message. A nuisance. Don't know how to stop it.

I live in British Columbia, just got a call from this number at 7:30PM.  The caller ID said CALL CENTREVOIP.  People need to get a real job.  

They called my house asking for my mother. They wanted to know what benefits she is receiving and what her address was and what her date of birth was. When I told them no legit business would ask that she hung up.

I've been getting calls from 954-278-8417 since the beginning of February 2014.  Caller id says 'ECHOSYSTEMS'.  It's definitely a scam and not the actual business named Echo Systems.  http://www.echosystems.us/scamcalls/

Got a call from this number, showed up as "Call Centre Voice", and evidently the ESL person (Indian) on the other end told me my computer was transmitting spam and false information across the internet.  You can imagine my response.....

Really?  They're doing this again?  Do they really expect a tech-savvy person to believe that they are getting a random unexplained signal telling them there's a problem but they can't identify without me giving them complete control of my computer?

I've read about these things.  They get you to give them control and then install some bad software (spyware, adware, whatever).  They then explain what the "problem" is without telling you it's what they installed.  They then want you to pay to remove the "problem" that they installed for free.  See http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2013-04/11/malwarebytes for someone who played along with the scam - which resulted in files being deleted when the "technician" got quite angry after intentionally wrong banking information was given.

Normally I don't pick up but this time I needed to vent about other things - so I got rude without being vulgar.

Obvious scam.. your computer has a virus would be the next line.

Doesn't matter what disguise they call under it's debt collector acts of predation.

Debt collector predatory tactics, another call received, when answered stated they were calling on behalf of US Mobile asking if I was on any government assistance programs and if I was over 80 years old. Stated they were a call center in Sunrise FL she was Dominican and her supervisor was also Spanish speaking. Wanted to offer me a free phone under a new government program, I asked if it was an Obama phone , she said no, and again said it was a government free program. They denied they were debt collectors when asked and stuck with the free phone and government program. Received call, did search, found website http://www.answerquest.net/contact/ did domain search, http://whois.domaintools.com/answerquest.net did BBB search found nothing for Answerquest.net but did find BBB report for similar like named business http://www.bbb.org/greater-maryland/business- ... ore-md-19010564 It appears they're a call center Hollywood FL with many clients as noted throughout this thread.

Got a call from this number saying important personal information was being leaked from my computer.  Bad English spoken, heavy East Indian type accent.

I said I didn't even have o own a computer and the silence was interesting.  Said to the chap not to bother calling again, and I hung up.

Received a call from 19542788417.  Some guy with broken English saying my computer was leaking my personal information to the Internet.  I was to check the messages on my computer.  I asked him what to do.  He said to press the Start button.  I said that I have a Mac.  It doesn't have a Start button.  He didn't know what to say.
