To make a very long story not so so long, briefly: In March of last year I was in the market for a pre-fab metal building. I contacted US Buildings out of Florida. From the start they were high pressure but i was interested so I continued. They sent me a contract for $4500. It said approx $1100 non-refundable deposit. i questioned that and they said I had 3 days to cancel. I cancelled in the 3 days but they wouldn't give the deposit back. I ended up speaking to Anthony Rack, son of the owner. He told me he didn't have to refund anything per the contract and if I fussed he'd charge me an additional $1100 again per the contract. I fussed and he sent me to collections for the additional money. I got a lawyer who said i was S.O.L. Lawyer brokered a deal in which a new contract was signed but price went up from $4500 to $5000 for the building and I had to pay in full in advance. US Buildings then defaulted on the contract, kept my 5k and didn't send me anything. I filed in Small Claims Court. I won a judgement of $6120 which I'm now trying to collect. This company is owned by Gary Rack and his sons Anthony and Adam. The company goes by a variety of names: US Buildings, US Buildings Direct, US Metal Buildings, and others. They are based out of Florida, Texas, and Arizona. There is another US Buildings based out of North Carolina but I haven't been able to determine if they are related.  Check out my facebook page:

US Buildings in Florida will not stop calling. They have literally been calling me since last September/October. This is 6 months now. They will not take no for a answer. I have talked with so many different people there and they will not stop calling. They have now started calling from a local number in AZ, 480-499-2015. They are also I feel a very dishonest company. They always have a similar sales pitch. I mean how many factorys do they have in AZ that have just shut down and allowed them to make this once in a lifetime sale.

Caller names Dave Wilson - Ronnie - Chris, all charming until you ask them to stop calling, then they get all pissy with you..... and a fe days later someone else calls again !

Same as above, they just don't stop calling, I tell one guy off & another calls, I tell him to remove my name & another calls, this has been going on for over a month

This company has been calling us 4 times a day for months in spite of requests to stop.  We asked for metal building estimates from an on line site so the do not call program will not work for them.  How can you stop the calls?  Today I sent a personal email to Mr. Rack - hope that works.

They have also yelled and insulted us on the phone.

These morons keep calling...six months and counting, sometimes 4 times a day.

The employees of U.S. Metal Buildings have violated several articles of the National Telephone Consumer Protection Act by first calling me after I asked them to take my number off of their list, and then calling me several times before 8:00 A.M.  They have become increasingly abusive in addressing me which is also a violation.  I filed a complaint against them with the FCC which is what I recommend everyone who is being harassed by these thugs do.  The FCC has an on-line complaint form that only takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

sounds like amc or american mastercraft buildings . gave em 5000 on a promise of delivering a steel building to me then after they got that they called and said i needed to send them another 2500 to get my building shipped. this all happened while they were filling bankruptcy on me and the thieves there stole my money. and got away with legal thievery [ def of a thief.] [ someone who knowingly takes something from someone else that doesn't belong to them ] they're from boca raton fl

They call all hrs of night and day I asked them to be taken off the call list and I still get calls. They are rude use profanity.

I get at least 4 calls a day from these low lifes after I submitted a form online to get a quote on a building... Big freakin mistake!

All of the above complaints are for Us Building or US Building Systems Corportation- they are all the same "company"- if thats what you want to call them.

I am also contacting the Florida Department of Consumer Affairs and the Florida Attorney Generals Office. Check back for their websites. I'll post them in a day or so.

I saw the commercials on T.V. for nice looking steel buildings from U.S. Buildings in florida. I went to their website and filled out the form for a quote on a 25X60 building.

I got a call back the next day from a gentlemen named 'Frank'. This guys immediately rubbed me the wrong way. He sounded like a used car salesman straight out of New Jersey. I should have just hung up the phone right there but I needed a building so I continued the conversation.

Frank wouldn't give me an exact price for the building. Instead he kept asking me how much I wanted to pay. Eventually I break down and tell him the price I'm looking for and he comes back with a number just under the price I gave him.

I think this is fine and agree to purchase what I think is a complete metal building for the price we've agreed on.

Frank then sends me over a contract to sign agreeing to purchase the building and authorizing them to charge my card for a 'non refundable deposit' which in this case was about $3,600.00. I don't see any reason not to do this as I want the building and have no intention of canceling my order. So I sign the form and send it back.

One week later Frank calls me up and tell me that I'm going to be needing some end walls for my building and that they are going to cost me another $3,000! I don't see as I have a choice in the matter as I need end walls for my building and assumed any building would be coming with walls for gods sake. So I reluctantly agree to purchase the walls for my building and sign yet another credit card authorization form for an $800 deposit this time...

One week after this Frank calls me yet again. This time to tell me that I'm going to be needing a steel channel to attach to my foundation if I want to be able to erect the building properly. At this point I just can't believe what's going on here and I ask him how much it's going to cost me. He comes back with a number of about $2,800!

Now I've had enough of this crap at this point and demand to talk to a manager. I tell him what's gone on and that I don't appreciate this bait and switch tactic they are using.

I told the manager what they are doing here is like selling someone a car and then telling them as they walk out the dealership door, 'oh by the way you'll need to buy they breaks if you want to be able to stop the car you just bought'.

I tell him I want a refund and refuse to take delivery of the building. He then calls me a 'pip squeak from Florida' says he's not going to give me a refund and hangs up the phone.

I've contacted my credit card company and told them what happened. As I have received no goods and was tricked into signing those non refundable credit card authorization the credit card company is not making me pay the charges and is investigating this merchant.

Please be warned about this U.S. Buildings outfit as I have read many reports similar to mine on the internet after doing the research I should have done before doing business with these guys..

I keep getting calls from 954-281-2016  and they SAY they are US Buildings.  They call and harrass me, wanting to know why I don't want to use their business.  They call early in the morning, usually waking me up around 8 am.  I have told them to quit calling me and I dont' want to use their company.  They keep calling.  I've had at least 5 calls since last Friday (6 days).

FYI - We were hit by a tornado a little over a week ago and I am trying to get estimates to replace a building.  I made the mistake of asking them, too.  An absolute jerk called from US Buildings the first time, pushing me to buy from them and how did I want to pay and maybe I might want to use credit, etc.  At least one other has called.  I think the first jerk also called once using a "new" voice that sounded about as cartoony as can be.  Today, it was a black girl who must have been 4 years old, because she kept asking why and other repetitive questions that aggravated me, especially after being woke up.  She reminded me of a 4 year old and their repetitive questions....  why, how, why, why not....

On the last call today, I told them I was going to report them for calling after being told to quit.

3/23/09 I just got ANOTHER call from US Buildings, This time from 954 281 2027 at 12:36 p.m. The guys name was Gabe. I told him that I had already put up a custom built garage, and asked him to please remove my name from their calling list , and to please stop calling me. He said ahh, okay, and that was that. (At least this clown did not hang up on me like one other guy did.)
Why are these guys chasing dead leads? Why wouldn't they put more effort into  developing leads that are going to make them a sale? Because at this rate of p*ssing people off, they are running the business into the ground.

They just called me again from 954 281 2058. I just pick up the phone and lay it down. These guys are such a bunch of low lifes. Please stay as far away from this company as you possibly can! You will regret ever speaking or doing business with them for the rest of your life! His wifes name is Videl and he has twins sons Adam and Anthony, both now age 29.
He must employ salespeople who can do nothing better than chase dead leads.

Gary Rack also owns some restaurants and restaurant management companies, also many other companies that are trying to dodge the system, and the legal system. I actually got the opposite response, I was basically told to go pound sand, on the project I am working on!!!! I was trying to put $100K in these people's pockets and they basically told me they were to busy. If I had more of a case, or a bigger problem like you have, I would go after them. This guy deserves a punch in the face!!!

I would never buy a building here
If there was ever a company that would make you want to run for the hills it would be US Buildings. They have a sales force that is so funny. I request a 30x40 they say they have a cancelled building 35x40 and would sell it for the same price as the 30x40 and it is a cancelled building sitting on their site for immediate delivery. Unfortunately I can not get till 8 weeks from now when it is produced. I dont understand if its cancelled why cant i have it now. He just started studdering like a babbling idiot. his pricing changed 3 times before i finally hang up. What THIEVES they are and will not stop calling me at all hours of the night. LEAVE ME ALONE

US BUILDINGS just called me again after I have asked them several times not to call. They will not give up, this is harassement. This time they called from 954 281 2075. I copntacted the Deerfield Beach police department (954) 480-4300 and was told I would have to contact my local police department, which I have done. A police report has been filed and all of the calls from this company are being documented.
Again I ask you not to get involved with this company, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES give them any of your phone numbers and MOST OF ALL NEVER NEVER NEVER give them a credit card number no matter what.
The salespeople at the company are sad, pathetic, desperate individuals who will do and say anything to get a sale- then they are never to be seen or heard from again.

US Buildings STILL will not stop calling. Its almost as if they are too retarded to understand what NO IM NOT INTERESTED means. They called this morning at 8:21 from 954 281 2071 and I just answered the phone and let them ramble until they realized there was no one listening. Then they just called again this evening at 6:21 p.m. from 954 281 2071 (keep in mind they are calling from Florida which would have been 9:21 p.m. their time) I Politely told this individual that I am no longer interested , that I am putting up a custom build real garage (I referred to it as "stick".) He hung up on me. Please think twice about even contacting this company. They are a bunch of obnoxious, desperate, unscrupulous, seedy, sleazy , uneducated morons!!!!!!

Like many others made a big mistake contacting US Buildings. Simply wanting an estimate on costs. Found there tactics very unsavory. Constant volly of calls and its been 2 months since I made this mistake. Has become the joke of my house hold "Hey Dad US Buildings again, still want to buy a building?". At least my kids will know not to deal with US Buildings. Would not accept the materials from them even if they paid me to take it. Live and Learn.....
