The same number is scamming in Columbus, OH. He has gotten the owners name from the county auditors office and created an email in the owners name to make it look legit. This is a scam. The message said he was moving to Malisa and had to rent the house right away, but the catch was the phone number is a Florida landline number. Please do your research and don't get scammed!

They don't care about the details.  They just want the people who will pay without asking too many questions.  They can put up hundreds of ads and send thousands of emails almost for free.  Anyone pays and they've made a profit.  If people didn't fall for it they wouldn't keep doing it.  They're looking for the lowest common denominator, this is the reason many of the 419 scams still say they're in Nigeria.  It weeds out the smarter people.

He's definitely out there and still operating and using real properties that are for rent as I got a call from a kind person who inquired with him but they were estute enough to be able to pull up the property records to see that they DID NOT have the correct person listed as being the current owner and they tracked me down in Chicago at 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning but I was more than thrilled to be awoken so that I could jump on-line and notify Craiglist.com where he had posted the home so that they could remove it.  I don't get why they waste time doing this as their format of information needed is sooooo archaic in nature that I can't imagine anyone would fall for it.  Usually it takes several weeks to get approved by a Homeowners Association and pets are not usually allowed yet his form he was requesting they should fill out allowed Dogs / Cats and also did not have a fee for the application process.  If you're going to be a scammer at least be a good one for goodness sake.  I hope the authorities can work towards catching this idiot.

The person using this number has had the nerve to list my furnished home in Naples for a ridiculous low rental price in hopes that someone would fall for their scam and rent it from them.  Their communication is archaic and obvious in nature and VERY unprofessional so really they are just wasting their time as on Craigslist.com it's easy to report / block them from using the info again.  I say, get a life people and stop bothering those of us who are doing business legally.

This guy is still out there.  He is currently posting a home in Carson, he even gives his name as the listed property owner.  I almost fell for it.

I'm so happy I found this site. I noticed the same vibe when I contacted a renter using this number. Hopefully, I can report him/her to Craigslist. I would had for a less inquisitive person to be scammed.

I emailed for information on a 3/2 house for $700 on craigslist and got back the same type email.  Scam was written all over it.  Looked up the phone # and saw your posting.  What is sad is that someone out there might fall for this.

Same thing but I am a prop manager and a scammed potential renter called me and made me aware. Same phone number listed here. Only thing he didn't realize is that my real phone number was at the property and when people went by to see they called me. So hopefully no one was fooled.

So I saw this rental property on craigslist for $600 a month for a 3/2.. So I emailed the person asking for more information and got back a long detailed reply to fill out a application form and also stating their family moved out of the country for business and so can not show the house but if you send the security deposit you will get the keys. Still extremely suspicious I looked up the address and phone number and found lulu's post.. Thank you for confirming that this is a scam, buyers beware..

Male was doing a scam of renting a property from out of the country and would send the keys of the house to you as soon as you send him through Western Union part of the security deposit.  He will send you a bogus address along with everything else one needs to know about sending money.  Be vigilent and Rental houses that are low in the rent and so easily handed over to you are a scam 99% of the time.  The 1% is rare and hard to find that really will rent a house at a lower price because they want to give back for their blessings.
