Callers name was Albert. Also kinda weird I got a magic jack voicemail. But it seemed like he had forgot who I was since we talked last and then sounded like he typed my info in and had everything on the computer from our previous cinversation

I got a few calls about shipping a car. I seen someone said that this does go to a auto company of some kind. So is this b.s? I was told that $50 deposit and then 200 due to the driver when the vehicle is delivered.

I received continued calls from several of these numbers. 954-318-9214 had Caller ID of Cindy West. 855-745-4278 had Caller ID of John P. West. I talked with someone at the first number who claimed to be calling on behalf of "Natural Health" magazine. They were making at offer of a multi-year subscription at a ridiculous cost. I told them I did not do business over the phone, I did not want the magazine "renewal", for them not to call me, I was not interested. They called back today, apparently, if I understand the above posts. I answered the phone but no one was on it. This is beyond annoying since we get business calls to our landline as well as an occasional fax.

Citizen was contacted by a woman claiming to be "Cindy West" from "Golf Digest Magazine" stating if they did not renew their subscription they would be charged automatically for 3 years for $300 or charged a cancellation fee. The wife did not realize it was a scam and gave their credit card number to "West" before the husband got involved and hung up on the individual. They confirmed with Golf Digest that I was a scam and then called the number back (1-954-318-9214) and a male answered, "Hello?". The male hung up on them and when they called back "West" answered. The citizen told "West" they knew it was a scam and "West" hung up on them. I attempted contact (1-954-318-9214) but it went straight to voicemail each time with an automated answering message with no identifiers.

Update: 855-745-4278 takes you to a "Client Service" number, probably in India. That implies this is the company making the illegal calls and, while the FTC can not shut them down, they COULD use the facilities of the U.S. government to find who they are, then have the FCC require the carrier to block ALL their numbers.

4 calls in the last 5 days. Live caller gave her name as "Linda" but had an accent, probably from India. Claimed the company name was "Publishing Processors" and they "service" my Playboy Magazine subscription. Claimed their toll-free number was 855-999-4438. The Caller ID number, 954-318-9214, belongs to Sun Auto Transport LLC, 7950 NW 53rd Street,  Suite 337, Miami, FL 33166. The toll-free number is a mobile number in India.

I've been a subscriber to Playboy for over 45 years and can track my renewals to their processor in IA, the heartland of the USA, not India). I also confirmed with their Customer Service that they never call their subscribers. They don't have to. They base is firmly in place.

Therefore, this is a scam in violation of the DNC list and the "Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009".

Your best bet is to block 954-318-9214, and/or 855-999-4438. Then file a complaint with the FTC (this is an FTC problem) and the FCC (although they never do anything).

In short:

The FTC will not take any action without a "significant" number of complaints. They will not say what makes a "significant" number of complaints. I suggest you do the following:

(1) file a complaint at
               https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

(2) email or snailmail your congress-persons (Representatives and Senators) about the FTC's failure to enforce the Do-Not-Call list. Mention Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission. This is the guy whose name appears on correspondence claiming they don't have enough complaints. (If you have a Republican, forget this step, they are not interested in our problems or interested in accomplishing anything useful).

(3) call the FTC, Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission at 1-202-326-2514.
