They didn't want to tell me anything about who they were just that they were Advantage Media's callers..So if you get  Bioscience Technology, CED, Chem.Info, Drug Discovery & Development,ECN ECN Design Network, ECN Reference Directory, Food Manufacturing, G&P (Genomics & Proteomics), Industrial Maintenance & Plant Operation, Laboratory Design Newsletter, Laboratory Equipment, Manufacturing.net, Medical Design Technology Pharmaceutical Processing, Product Design & Development, Products for Industry, R&D, Scientific Computing, Surgical Products, Wireless Design & Development, Wireless Design Network, or Wireless Week.....chances are you'll be getting the same frustrating calls coming from their automated dialing services that hangup because the automatically dial many numbers and whichever picks up first is routed to an attendant.

Tell the publishers and the sales reps to use US based firms....not 954-366-0317
Again- if you have a subscription to email OR publication chances are good 954-366 0317 or whatever else they use as a number will hang up on you too in the near future. What a stupid way to do business!! Stop renewing the subscriptions until they smarten up. Watch what happens then..

Received call, answered after two rings, call was terminated. It sounded more like a person hanging up than an autodialer. When I called back I received a busy signal.

They won't stop calling. All I get is the silent treatment.

This number calls my work phone several times a day for the last couple of weeks as one who answers phones all day everyday, this is the last thing I want to deal with is this petty little I say "hello" and they say "nothing" crap. I wish they would stop calling as it is bad enough to deal with clientele who at times call and give me a hard time over the phone.

Woman with an Indian accent attempted to "renew" my "subscription" to a magazine I had never even heard of.

Sorry I drifted a bit but it is a jungle out there and people will eat you up if you give them your number. As I was reading your posts I got 4 phone calls on my two cell phones.In my case I bet it a pro video and or TV magazine. One that I have told then to F... Off over if Twice Magazine, I was a subscriber for "FREE" and they would call all the time and I told the Indian Broad on the the other side of the world.............Take me off the list I don't want to renew this Magazine..........I will bad mouth them at every juncture I have available to me........They have my email why not use it.

I had somebody call me from this number and they knew my name and said it was about a free magazine subscription I was entitled to. I asked where the heck they got my name and number from and they hung up.

Obvious sales call.  LOTS of background noises and conversations going on. Sounded like they are speaking through a handkerchief

I get the calls too. I suspect they got my number from a woodworking shop where I bought some [overpriced] re-finishing supplies.

Calls me about once or twice a week.  It's ridiculous i ignore it every time.

They call me all the time too. I have a script to professional remodeler as well. They suck.

I have been in this business for quite a while.  Although these are not my calls.  The magazines come from a company called Reed Businees Information and are indeed trade publications.  There are many of these companies that give away the trade pubs (by the way--they are absolutely free of charge) Reed Elsevior is the home company and they use several offshore call centers to make there calls including Indian, Philippines, and the Carribbean (St Kitts for sure).  We have done some work for this company but the qualification time on the phone is much greater than other publishers requirments and a lot of the contacts we were given were quite unhappy to hear from the magazine because of what is described above.  You can call the magazine publisher from the website.  Reed maintains two lists of "do not call"---one for the specific magazine and one for all of their lists. The regular "Do not call lists" are not appropriate here as they meet the legal expecptions---1. It is Business to Business and the federal list is for residences, 2. In most cases there are calls to renew the subscription so there is an existing business relationship with the company, 3. Many times the lists are generated from similar magazines owned by the company and again---there is an existing business relationship with the company.

Reed asks for a lot of information which makes the call last into the 5-10 minute range where most of the calls are about 1 1/2 minutes from start to finish for other companies pubs.  They are looking for bargain basement rates so they go offshore or near shore. We watch our costs and try to compete with the numbers but could not maintain a profit margin.  The suggestion has been made to shorten the call, call domestically and use better lists so they don't ahve to call the list so many times that people get upset but it isn't going to happen.  Last I heard this whole company was up for sale and the procedures could certainly change if another company takes of all or part of the company.  Keep in mind---these magazines are geared to help you in your business and give you the newest info on your industry----this could actually help you in your business and this particular economy---so if you can put up with the call it is a free source of good information.  If not---tell them you want to be put on the do not call list for all Reed publications. -- if the calls persist---call the publisher and report the happenings---they will get you off the call list within 24 hours

got call, returned call, rang no one there

Receive a 2-3 calls per day for the past week. If I answer, there is no one there.

I complained to Professional Remodeler magazine, lets see if it does any good. The company that distributes is; Reed Business their email is; SUBSMAIL@REEDBUSINESS.COM

answered.  caller hung up.

These "phuckers" just called me again today! I didn't answer, and the message they left was the same:
"We are unable to coplete your call at this time, please try again later..."  Then says "Message 12, Switch 552"

If I ever find who the hell is calling me like this, I will literally de-ball them and the force feed them to eat their own testicles for dinner!  Lil bastards! >:-(O)

just answer "911 whats your emergency" the calls will stop

This number shows up at least twice daily for nearly a month or more. I never answer as I have no contacts with Florida business or otherwise. It's a major nuisance as the calls come at all times morning and evening. Never have answered and don't plan to. Wish someone could disconnect them.

The bastard has called 3 times in past 2 das and is too cowardly to lave a voicemail. So I call the number back, and get some lame, outbound recording in a mans voice, saying: "We are unable to coplete your call at this time, please try again late..."  Then says "Message 12, Switch 552"

just got a call from this number,,, it was a woman w/hindy accent asking to have free subscription to ' professional remodeler ' magazine renew'd

Call was dead silent for about 2 seconds, then sounded like background whitenoise as their handset came on, and then they asked for a person by name who I do not know.  I told them "wrong number" and that was the end.
