They call several times in a row, then cease and try again several hours later.  They're a collection agency out of Broward County, Florida.  Not sure of thier name.

I suspect that this Fort Lauderdale, Florida number might be optionally call-forwarded to a country other than the USA (easily arranged over the internet).  This is just outsourcing to some 3rd party who probably speaks enough English to get on your bad side.  Static on the line is another indication of some flaky connection outside the USA . . . where they aren't encumbered by our civility or laws.   The collection agency may be fictitious, using old financial information that has been compromised.  If they are real, then they seem to be in hiding.  The company name hardly ever appears on caller ID, and apparently, when asked whom they represent, they become belligerent.  Not all debt collectors are like that. However, with the economy going south as it has, the debt collectors are realizing that their targets no longer have discretionary income, and it makes them darn mad. LOL

The company is Asset Investigative Solutions.

Someone called from this number leaving a very garbled and faint message.  All I could understand was a case number.  When I called the number back a recording said the number is not in service.  Weird.

Similiar situation. They called my retired father in a different state talking about an investigation.... He thought I was in some kind of trouble. So I call the number and they refuse to give me any info and are super rude and hang up on me. Go figure. Do u have any info on the A

They just called my house this morning. The caller said she was an investigator (Jones?) calling regarding a civil complaint made (against us, I don't know). This is very weird considering we have no debts and I don't know of anyone that would have a complaint out involving us. They even threatened court action if we don't call ASAP. I had a weird feeling about this call and thought I'd check out the number first.

Called asking for a distant family member.  Odd since the person they asked for has a different last name, and my phone number isn't used for anything

They call again and again and again. Yet, they are unable to awnser who is calling.They are unlisted in every 411 site. They should be reported for excessive harrasment.
