my husband and I received the call stating we won after attending Discover the Dinosaurs in Atlanta. WOW...we were so excited and paid the fee. I am contacting my credit card company right now to see how we can get our money back. Heart just suck to the floor. I am so on board to start a petition to stop them from doing this to other people.

"Discover The Dinosaurs" needs to shut this booth down at their event so future hard working families wont fall victim to this shameless practice. The show promoter for this event should be ashamed to have this scam running in a family event. Obviously they are making money off misleading people. I read a post of someone who is nearly homeless that made a purchase with this company because they never "win" anything and felt this was a dream come true. After being told that they would only have to pay the hotel taxes their card was charged $698.00 dollars.(Saw other posts online that their selling it for as low as $198.00 dollars) They called to get the money back so they could pay their rent and were told the day after purchase they couldn't get a refund. That is a shame. I did let that person know they can call their Credit Card company to initiate a Charge back dispute and they will get their money back easily being that it is an over the phone transaction. I'd like to start a petition to contact the event promoter of this scam and hopefully stop this company from practicing deceptive trade practices. More information on the company Universal Getaways is not the legal name, it is Magical Dream Escapes 1025 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd., #11, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009-4478. Which has an F rating with the South Florida BBB reason for name change I'm sure. The main number I believe is (954) 587-0595. Just got the call after the ripoff dinosaur exhibit in Boston.  I told them I could not make a decision without my husband on the line so they said they'd call back in an hour when he is home.  Then I did a little research and found this site.  When the lady calls back I'll tell her I am not interested.  What a scam.  What we registered to win was a trip to Universal Studios and this company is named "Universal Getaways" which has no website.  What an idiot for giving out my name, phone number, probably address if I remember right, and income level!

Wow what a shot at an amazing day......we actually thought we won. I didnt know they call every single person who signs up....we went to the discover the dinosaurs and signed up. That was a few days ago. Got a call tonight saying we won. So we are signed up, paid for and ready to go. My mother in law was actually planning a surpise trip for my family to Disney and a cruise....so she was excited and gladly paid the $498 they had to have today!!! But we have yet to know if its ligit. They did the whole recoreded confirmation and all. And we are awaiting an email to print out all the info. But even.if it is a scam....if they do really send us everything. Its a blessing to me. We've never been on a vacation. We're next to homeless. And we were going to be surprised with a vacation to begin with. Thye sounded legit to us. Noone got an attitude with us. And when we told them we couldnt pay. They threw in a fifth vacation. The whole thing boils down to.....we needed this...we needed something good to happen right now in our lives. We lost everyting to a flood in Florida. We have nothing. I will not tell my fiance about this site. I will let him keep the magic of the thought that he won something. I regret looking this up....

We went to the Discover the Dinosaurs event, and signed up to their raffles to win.  I didn't realize it was for a vacation.  Supposidly I won, but he wanted my husband to be on the line with me.  I since then haven't answered their calls.

Hmm, sounds like a trick question. You can't "purchase a trip from these people." You can't purchase anything, they are just thieves. If they stole your money good luck, and next time check this site first.

Event Reminder
ALERT!! ALERT!! ALERT!!

Dont give these people your money! I worked for them for a while (unfortunately like many others who work for them) ...they screw us and find reasons not to pay us what weve sold/earned! Other companies like them selling vacations/call centers/etc --hire people via craigslist and continuously screw people and then hire new people and do the same to them. Its a constant process, but they are getting YOUR MONEY!!!!

They buy the leads and call everyone endlessly! They are good and claim to be backed or have these great vacations--ohh and they post on these blogs as if they are real people and "I Got my Package!!" type crap to sucker you just like they do us who work for them.

Good luck with your vacations if you end up buying from them! I sold timeshare for 4 years and the companies who are marketing their timeshare will offer u a stay at their resort for a nite or two, but not 3 cruises, 15 bonus trips and Bla Bla Bla!!! All for like $500!!!

Yeah-OKAY!!!

There have been a lot of good, honest, hard working people trying to make a living for their family-get screwed by these JOKES n Pathetic People!

If you buy from them or others like them esp in Hollywood, FL/Ft Lauderdale, FL-Good Luck and Remember you are supporting people who screw others!

Vacation package I signed up for at the gun show?  I went to a gun show the only thing I signed up for was the raffle that was taking place while I was there and for future ticket coupons.

I got called by them last year because I went to a music festival, bought the package,
and went to the Orlando part last month. It was a good vacation but they made us take a 2 hr
timeshare tour the 2nd morning I was there. It was worth the money
so all in all it was legit. I guess some people do buy
a timeshare and that's what this is about.

Got a call today from these scam artist. We attended Scrapin the Coast last weekend and a lady was handing out slips to enter into a contest. My husband got a call today, which is weird to handle business on a Sunday. They went on to talk about 22 days of different vacations and at the end It's 349 for my husband and 349 for my wife but 3 more people would be free. When I asked if I can call back because I wanted to do some research, the rep Melissa advised they have to close the deal today. She got her manager Luke Nichols on the phone and he says that we are #34 out of 50 families selected to participate in this conclusive deal. I hung up. This is a scam. If you enter to win something, and you win, it doesn't cost anything. They try to promise vacations in Florida and a cruise. Yea right

Wow, just got the same call except mine was from an event it Biloxi ,MS called Scrapin the Coast. Same sales pitch as all the others. When I told "Sean" to fax over some info bc I'd like to discuss it w my hubby he got his higher up on the phone bc they needed to close it out right away bc I was the Lucky #50 that was chosen. The higher up got on the phone and started quoting me saying that in the beginning I said that I can make all the decisions. When I told him I was waiting on hubby he started getting stupid so I kindly put him in his place by telling him that I was making the decison to hang up on a do***e bag........ No more calls from him! ;)

I took my son to an OVERPRICED Dinosaur Expo in Huntsville, Al. As I'm walking to the entrance, I was asked to register to win a free vacation. I received a phone call to say I was one of 50 people chosen to take advantage of a Disney World Package to stay at the Continental Plaza Resort (which looks like crap from the photos online) in front of Disney.

This sounds and feels like a major SCAM.

I would advise to not entertain the phone call or entertain the thought of making reservations to to Mega Destination Vacations. They have no website but several sites that have the same complaints as this site does.

Their number is listed as 9544542449

Just got off the phone with the same folks; apparently I "won" this great sounding vacation (4 or 5 destinations) tied to a raffle from the same "Dinosaur exhibit" Dollarsaurs mentioned -  for a "registration fee" of  $689.

I'm an optimist and part of me wants believe that this is a legit deal but I still have major doubts, the lack of written info, and submitting the CC info over the phone doesn't help either. I did find out that Magical Dream Escape/Mega Destination Vacations is listed on the BBB (Started in 2005, 'C 'Rating - not accredited though). They appear to be some sort of travel company. It also looks like they deal in economy hotels so you'd essentially be getting what you paid for (if you got anything at).

I was hoping someone somewhere would have had a story to tell about actually dealing with this company and having a positive experience. So far I've only seen one such post and that person was quickly branded as "paid SCUM" -  not overly encourging.

I'll probably have to pass on this one.

I received the call; listened to the script, and after asking to be e-mailed the terms and conditions in writing, was transferred to a supervisor.  They referenced my raffle ticket from the Dinosaur "exhibit," which in itself was a horrendous money-sink, but I'll move past that for the moment.

Typical door-to-door salesman tactics, asking obvious questions to get you saying yes, trying to wrap you up in their enthusiasm, intimating that you "won" a "vacation."  The killer for me in this conversation was the escalation of the call as soon as I asked for specific information in writing, and the continual "the state of Florida only allows us to call each recipient once."  The escalation salesman had the same ready defenses about being licensed and bonded and members of various consumer protection groups, etc.

Since they were not forthcoming with written information, I told them I was no longer interested.  I'll post here again if they call me once more.  I'm not posting my name, because I don't want them specifically linking this back to me.

I won't go so far as to say this is a scam, any more than a used car salesman being pushy means the car he's selling is a lemon.  The Continental Plaza "Resort" as they said over the phone, is just an economy room in a 2-star hotel.  No resort about it.  I'm sure the accommodations in all of the packages are similar.  Ever if this was legitimate, the taxes on some of these small rooms are almost $100 a night.  I think I'll stick to something like Priceline.
