True story,

My brother had attended a home show and told me he filled out one of these applications for a free vacation.   Well after a few months he was called by "American Getaways" and offered 5 nights  in Orlando and Universal tickets with a timeshare company called Bluegreen Resorts.. Thing is, American Getaways never said anything about FREE, as was the way it was initially marketed to him.  He was told he had to pay "discounted/partial" cost and Bluegreen picked up the rest.  

Well.....believe it or not, he and my sister in law traveled last year on this vacation and actually had a great time.  He told me they upgraded him at no cost to their timeshare property which is a 4.5 star resort according to Travelocity.  I couldn't believe myself, lesson is be smart and do ur due diligence.  And don't believe every opinion on the Internet.

Called and asked for a Kathy, so I knew it was a telemarketer or something.  When I said I wasn't Kathy, I asked who they were-  They said "Andre-- Andre love" and then hung up.

They try to offer you a vacation package to Universal Studios.  They try to get you to give them your credit card information over the phone.  Don't Do it!

I received a phone call from 954.457.0617, American Getaway. This people told me about I win a vacations almost 'free'. Please be carefully, this is a TRAMP........ say NO thanks. They have all my information, I mean my full name, address and of course my phone number.

PLEASE DO NOT FALL IN THIS TRAMP.

My wife got a call from "Universal Studios" promo dept saying we won a free 5 day vacation all we need to do is pay the taxes. We decide to go ahead with it and pay the taxes (Don't ask why it said SCAM all over it). After getting off the phone I started to do some research and found that it most likely was a scam. So I called Kevin Scheidel back and someone told me he was busy and would no be able to talk to me. They switched me over to Mike Portman and he told me it was NON-Refundable I told him when I spoke with Kevin Sceidel he said we had 30 days to cancel. We went back and forth about no being able to get a refund. It?s my word against Kevins. I told him if he couldn't give me a refund I wanted to talk to someone who could. He told me he was GOD there and there was no one else I could talk with and he hung up on me. I called my credit card company and placed a dispute on the charge and also filed a complaint with the BBB. I?m hoping I can get a refund or I?m out $398. The email address I received my confirmation # from was Promotions Desk americangetaway2@comcast.net. There address comes up as 954 W Hallandale Beach BlvdHallandale Beach,FL33009 The 800 number they gave me to call back was 800-805-5778. Also they mentioned something about bluegreen travel PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!!

I did not answer the first time they called today; but when they called again an hour later, I answered.  The lady did give me her name when I asked.  As soon as I knew they were calling for Walt Disney Resorts, I told her I was not interested and hung up.

Another 954 areacode number- what are these?? Telemarketers?  Calling my cell and I do not even know how they are getting them when my number has not been given out for them to have access!
