they send you a check and you cash it and wire some cash  back to them, minus your pay and your bank ends up calling you and letting you know that the check is not real and is fraudulent - and you are out and will owe the bank.

I have been having fun with these scammers for years tell them you cashed the check (but don't cause it is fake) and keep sending them fake western union #s and put them on a wild goose chase, and tell them I'm sorry is must have wrote it down wrong try this one and keep doing that  but only one a day till they give up cause you have to keep them running back and forth. I have fun with this all the time.

Doesn't make any difference where you cash the check and if you knowingly attempt to cash a bad check you can be held legally as well as financially responsible. The check cashing stores cannot verify validity any faster than a bank can and often slower.  Best bet is to let your bank verify before you attempt to cash or deposit the check. Chances are almost 100% that the check is fake.

I did it too.  So I received $2500 and deposited it into a brand new bank account.  Once it was cashed (Friday) there was a mad rush of phone calls from him to get me to expedite the payment to the "specialist".  Well, with the deposit that big it was a 24hour notice to clear the check.  I took the $2K to western union but there was a red flag on this that they wouldn't transfer the money (thank god).  The person (I called the number and a "Jenny" was unavailable) pushed for me to send at least half at least.  He was texting me every ten minutes getting an "update".  Well, finally I told him, "I can't have the car wrapped until Monday anyway so I will wait till then."  He was a bit pushy saying that he was losing trust in me having that money.  I told him he had to wait, it was his decision to send ME the money and not straight to the installers so I took control of the situation and he stopped texting.  I never sent the money and now waiting the check to be officially turned down and the money to be removed from my bank account.

What about cashing it at the check cashing place instead of your bank? Has anyone ever tried the check cashing place?

I recieved the same offer for a car wrap for a Johnny Walker ad.
They have sent me a phony Cashiers check wanting an Weatern Union cash transfer # 1  to
New Orleans then after I said I do not use  this method of cash tranfers they wanted a money
gram sent to  San Antonio TX ,this is nothing but a PISH trying to get you to send them monies
out of your account that you will never see again and be stuck paying out of your own pocket.
We have a scam squad in the city and but  they probably will not be caught.
Take your corespondence to the local officials maybe they can be nailed before some oldster
gets stuck paying them
I recieved another car wrap deal saying Xerox was doing the the same type of add campaign.
When you get one of these offers be sure to print them out that way the officials may be able
put them where they belong

I have read all these posts (above); and they all repeat the same information.....but unfortunately, there is no other comments.....Has anyone received the check? Have they done it?  Contacted the BBB?  I tried to get the phone number and/or -mail for Johnny Walker; not to no avail.
My story so far::  got the e-mails(s) and awaiting my check (lol), and to be contacted by the person that s/b doing the "wrapping" of my car.
There was a # to call; and when I called it; it rang a long time, and then it was a generic phone message that I had reached that number (that I dialed) and asking me to leave my name and phone number and my call would be returned; needless to say; I didn't leave it; I just hung up.
Please help me....anyone go any farther w/this whole deal (scam)?
I eagerly await your answers/replies.
Thank you, and have a nice day.
Stay Safe/Healthy.

Hello,

We are currently seeking to employ individual's Country wide. How would you like to make money by simply driving your car advertising for JOHNNIE WALKER.

How it works

Here's the basic premise of the "paid to drive"

Concept: JOHNNIE WALKER seeks people -- regular citizens, professional drivers to go about their  normal routine as they usually do, only with an advert for "JOHNNIE WALKER"  plastered on your car. The ads are typically vinyl decals, also known as  "auto wraps" that's almost seem to be painted on the vehicle and which will cover any portion of your car's exterior surface.

What does the company get out of this type of ad strategy? Lots of exposure and awareness. The auto wraps tend to be colorful, eye-catching and attract lots of attention. Plus, it's a form of advertising with a captive audience, meaning people who are stuck in traffic can't avoid seeing the wrapped car alongside them. This program will last for 3 months and the minimum you can participate is 1 month.

You will be compensated with $500 per week which is essentially a "Rental" payment for the use of space.
