Just got this call in NYC.  On my business line. No one on the line.

I find this website helpful, so I thought I would post.

constant calls, no one on line

Got a call this morning. I could hear a lot of people talking in the background so I knew it was some sort of call center. They asked to speak to me. Asked how I was doing and then just hung up...strange. I'm also on the no call list so I shouldn't be getting these calls anyway.

I keep receiving phone calls from teh same number, no answer and no messages left.  This is on my cell phone too.  I called the number back and got a "Reservations" line.  It said to leave a message.  So I did.  I told them if they're not going to leave me a message telling me what they're calling about to stop calling my phone.  We'll see.  I am also on the Do Not Call list.

Repeatedly receiving calls from the number 954-495-9548 all times of day and night. I have received so many telemarketing calls recently, that unless I recognize the number on my caller ID, I simply don't answer the phone. The caller ID lists this number and Ft. Lauderdale Florida. There is never a message left on machine.

I am also on the National Caller ID Do Not Call list! Apparently it's a joke because the government does nothing to enforce the law.

Called and told me I have a credit toward a travel package to Orlando.  Told them I needed a vacation and started telling them why.  I made up this insane story and kept talking about it.  When they tried to get me back on the vacation, I continued to tell about my "problems" and they hung up on me.  I guess I won't be getting that vacation :)

I got the call here in Illinois today. We ARE going to Orlando sometime this year, but when I answered the phone, no one answered me and I am glad.

No talk, just a quick hang up wen I answered... just like the other Florida number: 305 479-2657 that was calling in September.
What benefit do these people derive from this behavior?
Repeatedly nuisance-calling people who are on the no call list must pay off for them somehow.  Where is the $$?

A female called my wife and was able to tell her that we have a cruise booked but unused. She wanted to get the confirmation #.
It is my opinion that with that # she could have sold the cruise right from under us; maybe for cheap, to some unsuspecting person.
But I am known to have a nasty, suspicious mind!

called me and got no answer on the other line so i called the national do not call registry(888)382-1222 I strongly suggest everybody call this number to report them. From my understanding if more than just I report them they will be charged with federal charges, fined, and face possible imprisonment! If u are realy sick of them call this number it works for collection agencies as well, It really has worked to stop many calls and if they still call i report them. Nobody has ever called me back after i reported them.

Have received 5 calls from this number in the last 3 days.  When I answer there is no one there then it disconnects.  I tried calling back but says the mailbox is full. I'm also on Do not call list.

I have received a call everyday from the number 954-495-9548, always silence and a hang-up.  Call back = mailbox full.  This number is definitely tied to the 305-479-2657 number, as I started receiving both around the same time.  I recently got on the do not call list, but apparently its of no use...please, someone track down this a-hole.

Also, I spoke with another number that kept calling me, and they told me it sounds like an auto-dialer, a computer that calls four numbers and only connects with the first one that picks up, and hangs up on all of the others (sounds right to me).  He also said that this is illegal, so I don't know how they're getting away with this.

Keep receiving calls from this phone number on my cell phone. I am on a no call list for my home, and my cell number. They leave no message. I also do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. Hope someone can stop these.

Called me with the vacation credit scam a month ago, I hung up on them. Now this number calls me twice a day, every day. It rings twice then they hang up.

Asked for my husband by another name and then hung up.

That darn # has been calling my cell for about a week and a half  -They let it ring two times which is usually when I can get to it and then hang up - I have never been able to answer it. I started calling it back after the 1st few times and I just get a message that the mailbox is full???  Bizarre  - and totally a waste of everyones time and money. I'd like to actually speak with one of these so called "telemarketers" and give them a piece of my time!!!!

This telephone number (954) 495-9548 calls my home and asks for my husband, by his first name, I ask who do you wish to speak to and they repeat the request with my husband's first and last name.  I ask who is calling and they hang up on me.  I do NOT find this amusing because my husband passed away recently!  These telephone calls are upsetting to my children, as well as myself.  My husband was not very old and his death was very sudden.  I find that they people who keep calling my home and asking for him are horrible people!  They do not even stay on the line long enough for me to say that he has passed away.  Then again, anyone who would be calling my husband would know that he passed away and NOT be calling!  I would like these people stopped!

Just about everyday, I receive a call from 1-954-495-9548.  When I pick up the phone, they hang up.  Who is it and what do they want from me?  Please don't call and bother me any more!!

Nothing is worst, then someone calling and hanging up!!! Well theses guys go it all the time...Get a life!!

Same as most above - I am registered on the National Do Not Call list in Canada, and I have been for nearly a year (they warn there is a 31 day 'grace' period where you still may receive calls.) When I answer the call there is dead air then a click to disconnect, and when I call the number back I also get the 'mailbox is full' message.
I have filed a complaint on the Do Not Call website, as I have never done business with this company and it is illegal for them to continue to harrass me and everyone else.
My sympathy to you Canadian Widow - all I can say is what goes around comes around and these monsters will get theirs.

Received a call from this number a couple weeks ago with a woman who asked for my spouse.  When I asked what the call was about, the caller refused to answer and hung up on me.  Several calls since (total of 6) and now when I answer the caller just hangs up.  We are also on the national do not call registry (in the United States), and my next step after writing this is to contact them.

CALL AND ASKED FOR ME AND TELLING ME ABOUT SOME SORT OF VACATION

For months I've gotten calls, often twice daily, from 954-495-9548. They also call from 954-495-4465. These calls are from a boiler room in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Special-T travel. Usually they hang up before I can answer, but TODAY I let Jason Morris, who asked for me by name... start to pitch a "travel credit for Orlando" - though he denied that he was selling anything. When I asked him to stop calling my number he hung up. BUT I persisted!! I looked up SpecialT travel in FT.Lauderdale and found a customer service number: 1-800-861-0854. I called and the guy who answered offered to put my name & number on their "NO CALL" list. I hated to give it to him but then... they already have it!!!! We'll see if this works.

Got another call from RCI Specialty Travel using what appears to be a dummy caller ID# 800-555-1111 today.  "Tom Melrose" claimed the wife had paid $498.00 by credit card on 07 August 2008, that the "vacation" remained unused.  He wanted $181 (?) within the NEXT two days to avoid loosing the vacation.  (Oh my) The vacation was to an 4 day Orlando rental, 3day/2night Daytona and 3/2 in Ft. Lauderdale.  The wife was then passed to the "supervisor" using the name Dennis McIntosh (?) who asked whether Tom had mentioned the vacation included a stay in Las Vegas.  The call terminated as the wife asked for the third+ time for a call back number, told him she was not giving them any money without some documentation etc.

We suspect these calls emanate from an experience vintage 2001 - 2002 (when I did not have gray hair) where the wife caused us to listen to time share plan salesmen in Daytona, Orlando, and a day trip to the Bahamas, then called "a cruise".

I got a call from a "Tom Nelson" selling me on the exact same thing as everyone else.  4 days in Orlando, 3 days in Daytona Beach, 4 days in Ft. Lauderdale, and 4 days in Vegas.  On top of that he said Alamo rent-a-car would be supplying me with a car at each destination free of charge, and I would receive a Magic Card at Disney for $500.00.  All I had to do was pay the taxes which totaled $398.00.  I was googling everything he told me while I was on the phone and came across this site.  I told him I had to think about it and would cal him back.

Call came into my cell shortly after 5 p.m. Eastern. Background chatter and a young-sounding woman, lightly accented (possibly Hispanic) asked for Antoinette or Eric. Said "please" and "thank you." Very polite and hung up when I told her she had the wrong number.

954-555-1212  sounds like a  scam.....the person calling name was Jim Gordon and he said I had an unclaimed $2000 vacation that I never took.  He said he can reactivate the vacation again for $199. I said I'm not giving you anything online can you send me some paperwork about this?  he said you can go to our website.  I went to the website its some phoney looking website in French that made no sense.
