This is American Express calling to collect on a debt.
Guess what Amex..... I'll pay you on my schedule, not when you ring my phone.

I just got call from them asking for my wife on my cell phone, she identified herself as an AMEX representative. When my wife answers her she was asked to give her AMEX number and her SSN, which is undoubted symptom of phishing, when she showed reluctant to it they told her to call the number on the back, when she called the 800 number she was surprised to know that the previous call was for real and our card was pass due for like $200, but anyway, find out first and never give your info, specially to companies with other states phone callers.

I keep getting calls on both my home phone and cell phone, I do not  answer if it doesn't say who it is from. I figure if they want to talk to me they can identify themselves.

yes it is american express.  I am 8 days late as  have been ill and in the hospital and got hit with out of pocket test that my insurance did not cover...calls 8 times aday, really leave a message if you want proof you called.  I am delinquent yes but they can't get money right now from me for what I don't have.

I went on line and they only offer an installment of half today rest next week.

if you are going to call about a bill, make it a live person.  If I don't hear anyone, I hang up.

It's back!  Just got a call from this number.  And many other numbers related to AMEX EXPRESS this past two weeks.  Constantly calling two to three times a day with the same number or different numbers.  Answer once and told them they got the wrong number, yet still got the call again from the same number.

This number keeps harrassing me.

Received call from this number.  No message left.  Surprised that they called on a Sunday (if this American Express. I thought credit card companies and others cannot call on Sundays.) One more call and I will notify authorities.  Comes up Florida on caller id.

Actually, it IS Amex.  I'd been receiving a number of calls this week on my home landline and my mobile from this number and others, from all over the country or from toll free numbers.  After my cell and then my landline ringing within 3 minutes of each other on a Sunday morning, I searched the numbers online and came to this forum (each number I searched led back to Amex).  I am self employed and have a business platinum card as well as a credit line I've been paying down.  I called this number, got an automated Amex greeting, message about recording for quality control, and then a request to enter my account number.  I entered 15 zeros.  When I got to a real person, she asked my name and I told her I was reluctant to share because I had no idea if this was a bona fide Amex call or phishing.  She encouraged me to call the number on the back of my Amex card.  There was in fact a payment issue.  While we are good about paying our bills, they said our last payment on the credit line was in June.  It turns out they misapplied our July payment to the credit card, not the business line, so was showing up as past due.  I got it straightened out.  So I'd say:  if you don't have any sort of Amex account or service, ignore the number.  If you do, call the number on your card and find out why they are calling you.

Received a call a 11:30 AM on 2/29/2012 - answered, but no response. *69 gave 954-503-1801 as the calling number.  According to above messages, it's American Express.  I don't have an AMEX card - very annoying.

I received this call 2/7/12 about an hour ago.  I have the same exact reply.  My AMEX is paid, it came up as Florida.  I am also on a no call list.  I received a call a few months ago from AMEX trying to sell me insurance on my card.  They kept calling until I answered.  This is harrassment from AMEX!  If I want to buy something I will call them!

Received call from this number 2/7/12 at 8:16 am.  Comes up Florida on caller id.  No message left.  Am on Do Not Call registry.   In looking at other above comments, American Express is stated.  If so, I have an AE Card and it is paid in full.  Don't know why they are calling.  Also, somehow they got me e-mail address and threatened me about being past due.  I am NOT delinquent.  One more call and/or e-mail, I will go to authorities.

Called my CELL phone --I've been getting multiple calls from multiple numbers, including this one, all apparently associated with American Express? I do NOT have an AE card. I'm on the Do Not Call registry and am still getting these calls.

Yes, very annoying...call after call, no message, phone just shows a number, I don't answer if I don't get a name and can't call back without a message...

They called 3 times, no one answered. Caller ID read American Express.
