Was legit Amex collections, asking for payment.  They knew the balance due, knew it was a corporate purchasing card, did NOT ask for card #.  It is true that the calling number can be spoofed, but I knew this was legit when they did not ask me for my card info and already had my balance info.

This is a scam.....Caller Id says American Expres (missing the last "s").  They called me at work and when I said this was a place of business they said "disregard the call, it was placed in error".  This same caller has also call my mobile number as well.  Don't give them any info.

Called and claimed she was from American Expres (with one 'S').  Not much else to write since caller ID gave same name.  Scam!

Message left says that the call is from American Express. Caller ID shows American Express to be spelled incorrectly.  No one in our household has an AMEX card. Putting this number on call block.

When a stranger claims to be your card issuer and wants personal info from you, the correct procedure is to hang up and call your issuer using the number on the back of your card. *NEVER* give out info to a stranger who calls you no matter who the stranger claims to be. Would you believe if I told you I am Henry Paulson, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, and I need your credit card number? Beware of shills on this thread who claim this number does belong to your card issuer -- don't believe them and it's completely irrelevant anyway because you must *NEVER* give your personal info to a stranger who calls you or call him back on a number he gives/leaves you. *ALWAYS* call the number on the back of the card.
