I got a paper left on my door handle with this number and two others - one forMiami Dade and one for Palm Beach counties. A man dropped it off and did not ring the bell. It had a time written in and said " Sorry we missed you- we were here at XX:XX. Our offices are open from 9am- 8pm - please call us in the next three business days"
Decided to check it out since it has scam written all over it.

It's very irritating to get calls like this one, leaves no message, leaving me to wonder who it was. In the job hunting process so every call to me is critical. Except fake calls like this.

Hello All, I started reading your comments out of curiosity & was very surprised by your vehemence.  I worked at this company for 6 wks, placed there by a staffing agcy.  Robert Luongo is a real person & a very nice one at that.  He is the owner of this small family business.  Most of my former co-workers have worked there for years, which I find quite remarkable for a call center.  The employee turnover is usually like a revolving door.  I found the permanent employees to be friendly, patient & helpful.  The breakroom is a good size, clean w/ a microwave, refrigerator/freezer & always reg. & decaf coffee going.  Also, 2 bathrooms, always clean, stocked w/TP, paper towels & hand soap.  Disinfectant wipes were always available for employees to wipe down their ports.  I lost my job there when the 2 survey projects I was assigned to were completed to the clients' satisfaction & nothing else was available for me, being thru an agcy I was one of the first to be let go.  I came to their website to see if they might be hiring since I am currently unemployed & I saw the comments & started reading thru them.  Yes unasked for phone calls are annoying,  but I was trained to accept no for an answer & if someone mentioned "Do Not Call" list, they were on it no problem.  I never knew the name of the person dialed, the only personal info asked was age, gender, # of people in household & income all of which the person cld refuse to answer.  I'm sorry if you all were offended or put out by the calls you received,  but these are people doing their job at a company that has no reason to be considered a scam.  They aren't trying to sell anything, they don't ask for a CC or SS card #, just your impression of the service you received at a Co. you dealt with.

Take it from someone that does these calls, it is simple.  Infoquest (and other such companies) are paid to take survey's for them (as the ones mentioned above - and apparently there must be SOME infoquest employee's posting here cause they name accounts).

Now, do I agree that companies should not share your information with 3rd parties without your consent? YES, it would make my job easier, however, keep in mind, sometimes when you may tell a store corparate may over ride them.  The people at the survey end do not know until, guess what, you pick up the phone.

Secondly, if an answering machine picks up, one has to hang up - there are no inbound lines (again, it would be nice if there were, at least you can properly say how to remove you from ever being called again - more on that below).  Also, if we did leave a message, what would it be "Hey called to take a survey, you did not answer, will try again" - Some ask, why not tell people and leave a time, why? Because:

1.)  Depending on what is being loaded (ie the project) we do not know WHEN it will be loaded, though we have a rough idea.

2.) It is computerized, at the mercy of the computer and where the number is in the rotation.

Okay, you have rec'd a call, what happens next?

You find out from Company A. person is calling on behalf of, jog that in your memory, you will have to do some footwork to stop them on other levels if they are sharing your information.  You are going to have to make a hell of a fuss with said company.

Secondly, cussing us out and hanging up does NOT stop all calls.  Not that we are going to re-rack the call and try again, but if you are dealing with a company on a regular basis, after a call is checked off NOT INTRESTED it IS (contrary to popular belief) taken out of that rotation.  What is supposed to happen in MOST REPUTABLE companies is your number is taken out of cue for 30 to 90 days (depending on the survey company) only exception being is if said company does business with you again and on their end they forget to check and re-submit you via another record (say a service like a garage where you may have multiple cars -you took your Audi in - not intrested, but uh oh, the other halfs Chevy had to go in and another chance for a survey - is it right? no, does it always happen? No. But sometimes it does).

Now here is another thing, if it is something you rarely do (ie a store or whatever) and the person says/asks 'we'll try back' - just say no, you leave a door open. When I end a call, I am one of the ones that ends the we'll call back as a question VS being a statement.  Again, not all are people that listen like me, but there are more of us than you think.

Now, how do you stop these calls once you get one?  There is one thing NOT TO SAY:

"Take me off your list".

Guess what, TECHNICALLY after you say no you are off THAT LIST. In other words, for example, you buy a couch at couch store inc. the survey comes through, you say no, done!  The only way you will get another call about a couch survey is if you buy another couch.

Now let us use a rental company on a business level.  Let say you rent XXXXX.  So you go to XXXXX rentals for whatever.  You say no to a survey, done, but wait a minute, a month later you rent the super sized XXXXX and you get a call again. Now you get another call and you are going WTF and start the Take me off your list routine.

What you should say is this:

Please Put me On Your Do Not Call List

and/or

Place Me On Your Do Not Call List

I suggest BOTH - and get the phone person to REPEAT it - after all 'this call may be recorded for quality purposes'.

And what does that mean?

All COMPLETED surveys are recorded and passed on to the client, and if you do not think they do not listen to the calls, you have never sat in on a meeting when they discuss them.

Here is the rub though, you scream something and hang up, it will go in as a not intrested.  If the above (Place me on ...) is not properly said and AUDIBLE even though me or someone else complies, the client may OVER RIDE the DO NOT CALL CLICK.

Please also note, us clicking do not call does not take care of it for all of said company. That is why I say above, make note of company and get in touch with them. We can not call, we can not do it for you, we (ie the callers) do not have that information - ie phone numbers - and if we are given one it is usually an 800 corp. number.

Keep in mind too, sometimes due to client wishes/quidelines/all around pain in the @$$ way of doing things we can not say WHY we are calling or allow someone else to take the survey (and 95% of the time I AM going WTF and know I am frustrating the person on the other line - ie the person who is taking the message).

ALSO, another job killer, if you are a co-worker/spouse/secratary playing the 'I will make a decision for XXXX' you will get a call back most of the times. Only we can be blown off by the person who we are supposed survey,

HOWEVER  *COUGH COUGH*

If the person is never in the office, on the road, in a meeting, and the person on the phone is SINCERE SOUNDING in the snow balls chance in hell of EVER getting said person, we (at least where I work) FINALLY have a judgement call to mark not intrested so we can move on.

Also, one other thing, assuming you have read this far and not told me to go **** myself, the one uncomfortable thing (bordering on my pet peeve) is if a family member/co-worker has passed please do not yell at us for not knowing, we feel bad enough when we hear 'so and so has passed on'.  Sometimes it has just happened, but other times it has been years.  Sometimes I get people say 'well we keep the name on because it makes us feel like he/she is still here' and I can understand that, really I can, just don't hand me my head on a silver platter after I ask for said person.

ALSO another thing that came to mind as I was getting ready to hit send.  A new thing is the recording that is more and more 'this household does not accept sollicitations...'.  Folks, survey's are not considered solicitations (sorry to say - would make it easier if they were) because the survey is (most of the time based on where you may have done business with) on an experiance that has already happened.

Now I know there is a lot of stuff here to digest, but remember what I said above:

What you should say is this:

Please Put me On Your Do Not Call List

and/or

Place Me On Your Do Not Call List

And that should work, key word SHOULD, if the survey place is reputable. Please copy and paste this info (hopefully in it's entirety - just fix the typo's - LOL).  I don't care and do not want the credit of posting this.  And remember this too, survey people get paid HOURLY (most of the time) if they are getting paid by the quota, then you should wonder.

Hope this information helps.

You are very correct to let people know that if they do not want to be called by this company then let Kool Smiles, Midas, United Rentals, or whomever you deal with not to give out your number.  The callers do not see any phone numbers that they are speaking with, just doing a job to get paid little.

these are telemarketer types who want you to take mundane surveys that really mean SQUAT...they get paid by companies like Kool Smiles, United Rentals, Midas-- who actually believe that these kind of "information seekers" can improve their companies/ customer service.

While I see no real malice in taking a survey, their's go ON AND ON AND ON...be prepared to waste about 5-20 mins. of your life if you answer.

Bottom line...it's a SURVEY company outsourced by companies like the ones listed above. If you don't like the calls & you do business with those companies, you should let them know!

Call came in at 8:33am on 11/19/12. I answered but caller hung up. I immediately called back and recording stated, "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble accessing the account, please try again later". I did see others posts stating connection with United Rentals survey, which could be possible as I do use them through work although United shouldn't be giving my number out either.
