1 (954) 587-6813 called me they hang up as i picked up the phone !

they call alot, never leave a message, I do not answer.

9545876813 just calls, no response. When I call back it says it is disconnected! How can that be?

I picked up this call 954-587-6813 it said fort lauderdale fl on caller id. It rang to a person sounded like from another country they said I understand you are having computer trouble. I said no i'm not and they hung up right away. They never asked for any information from me.

Nothing to add to previous note.  Another version of the home security scam.  If you try to call the number back you get the screechy noise and a recording that says the number is no longer in service.  Wrong.  The number is very much in the service of scammers, crooks and pests.

I'm on the DNC list (doesn't stop nuisance calls so, not sure what it's for.)

Keep receiving phone calls wanting to install a security system with a sign in your yard and it will be free. Called ATT about this and of course they couldn't do anything except that I could block the number which I don't have. When they call they say to press 9 to be removed from there call list, this has been done twice and they still call.

I answered, but it took too long for person to say hello, so i hung up. They called back quick, I hung up again. searched the number, found this site, thanks for the warning. ~ peace, out.

There should be a program we could purchase so when we get these annoying telemarket calls, after we signed up for the do not call list, that our computer can constantly redial their office to jam their phone lines so they can not make out going calls.

They call, phone rings once and I answer and no one is there.  I call them back and get a recording that the number has been disconnected.  What the point in having the do not call list if it is not enforced.  I am tired of filing complaints the  Attorney General in Pennsylvania to only get a letter back that they have looked into my complaint but there is nothing they can do.

I got a phone call from them a little while ago.  And as I answered no one said anything. I kept saying hello for about a min. And nothing. So I hung up. I called that number from my cell phone and it said operator said phone number was disconnected.

robo message says " Call now to update your Google listing.  Press 1 to be connected with agent (doens't work, tried it to be taken off list)  or press 9 to be taken  of the calling list (doesn't work, just disconnects.)
I get 1-2 calls  DAILY from stray robo numbers that follow this same pattern.

This number has been calling our house for some time and they never leave a message or when we answer no one is ever there.

For the folks who called the number back and got a message saying the phone number is disconnected, it's actually easy to do. I have a Google Voice number, it's a phone number that google gave me for free that forwards calls to my home phone and cell phone. If I don't answer, callers can leave a message that automatically gets transcribed by a voice recognition program and is sent via text to my cell phone and email account. It also sends the audio file to my email. One of the cool features that comes with the number is the ability to block individual numbers, or all calls to my google number. When I get calls like the one from 954-587-6813, I block the number so next time they call they get an automated message informing them the number has been disconnected. I am guessing the folks at "Financial Services" is using a Google Voice number. Another nice feature is all calls within the US are free when you dial them through Google Voice. The Google Voice number is free as well.

Caller left no message - unknown to me

Got the call and the automated voice said to update your Google information to press 1, or press 9 to be removed from the list. Nothing about financial services. It's a robot dialer generating whatever nuimber it wants. Call 888-382-1222 and place your number on the "Do Not Call List" and redo it every 2 years to keep them from pestering you.

Just got a call from the same number and it said to update your Google listing press 1 to speak with a person, or 9 to be removed. Nothing about being a financial service. Watch out it's probably a robot dialer calling using whatever number it wants to generate. Just don't answer if that number comes up. Also call 888-382-1222 and list you phone number with the "Do Not Call List". It's good for 2 years, but a close friend say they do it once per year and get no calls. Make sure that you are using the phone that you want placed on the list.

Telemarketers are REQUIRED BY LAW to identify themselves, and to leave a message when they call you.  They are not allowed to hang up, or not leave a message.  Nor are they permitted to leave a pre-recorded message;  this is also illegal.  Even Google is no exception (if it's really Google, that is).

Yes, I am on the do-not-call list.  It doesn't really help.

So, here's what you can do, and this is what I did.  And, it worked.  I'm still amazed that it did.

First:  File a harassment complaint at www.fcc.gov.  Fill out the forms online.  Show the time/date that the calls were made, and emphasise, in the comments section, that the caller does not leave a message.  If you are getting multiple calls, say so.  This is against the law, and this needs to stop.  If you are getting pre-recorded calls, say so.

Second:  File a complaint with your local Attorney General's office.  You can usually do this online.  In Illinois, you have to print out the form, complete it, and then mail it in.  DO IT.  This works wonders, and takes less than five minutes.

Third:  Look up the number (if possible) and file a complaint at www.bbb.org.  Yes, the Better Business Bureau.  

The more agencies you can inform, the more complaints are filed, and records are kept of these complaints.  Each one takes less than five minutes.  The more people complain, the less likely these calls will continue.

Do yourself a favour.  Stop these illegal, harassing calls.  You don't need the aggravation, and neither does anyone else.

Received a call from (954) 587-6813, no voice and disconnected

I set my caller I.D. with the same number and it comes back Florida as well.  I am in Pennsylvania.  Hmmmm.....

Someone from this number calls my cell phone number and hangs up when I answer. I do not want them to continue to call my number.
