OMG! i just got the exact same call as you! Tulsa State Fair and everything! I was skeptical too, but they had all my info and I kind of remember signing up at the fair..My husband says we did ..but it is the same story $498 for taxes, 7day/6night at Universal Studios blah blah blah. I didnt believe it and she did ask me if I was going to use my VISA while on the trip. I told her that it I didnt have a VISA and that wasnt relevent information, I would use what i use when i'm there! Then she went on with her script, the funny part was she could barely read it! mispronouncing words and even said I signed up at the Tulsa state fair in Tulsa, Ohio?!  I told her i was busy and had to call her back and asked for the phone # and confirmation code. When i did she immediately put me on hold. Then came back and said that I could call 877-767-0840 and tell them I am calling about "promotion". I then called back the number she called from, FAMILY FUN TRAVEL! I did check BBB and googled the company..not much there, but after i read your post all i can say is DAMN! i thought i may have been lucky for once. o well glad i didn't give them any info!

great i'm f***ing pissed now. i got this call a couple days ago and the first thing they did when they called was to ask me everything that they had for information was correct...which it was.... so im not sure if its a scam or not yet, but from everything you've been saying i'm thinking it is. i filled out an application at the comic con in boston.. i was literally on the phone for almost an hour with these people. they gave me so much information and all this s**t and now im afraid my $500 is gone forever, and i wont have a vacation that i got so excited for. why would the comic con give these people all of my information that was on the forms? im confused...well see.

I got a call from them today telling me I had won a vacation from filling out a form at the Tulsa State Fair, which I did.  I remember it was a creepy guy getting people to sign up.  I'm not even sure why I signed up.

Anyways, I got the call from 954-604-6189.  I listened to the girl, named "Melva Fields" (even gave me an "agent ID number") for 10 minutes about what I had "won."  It was the exact same thing as Kristine above, verbatim...

7 day vacation package for 4 people to Universal Studios and Daytona Beach.  All they say you have to pay is $498 for taxes.  When she's finished, she transfers me to the "booking agent" who will take my information for future booking reference.  This is "required" because I have 18 months to use it and they need it as a reference.  It is at this point they say they need a credit card number.  I say I don't intend to pay any taxes unless and until I go ahead and book my prize.  He won't tell me if I will be charged immediately, just says they need it on record for reference.

Here's the kicker, the absolute proof this is a scam.  He tells me that they need the reference because I am one of only 40 nationwide who have won this package and they need to keep my information seperate and distinct to make sure whoever I book with later knows I was a prize winner.  At this point I hang up.  I call my wife.  She says she got the EXACT SAME CALL!!!!  So of the hundreds of thousands of people who registered at the Tulsa State Fair, and not only that, but nationwide, both my wife and I were chosen out of 40 nationwide to win this prize!!!

Give me a break.  No family is that lucky.  I'm sure they would have enjoyed my $498.  Glad I got to keep it myself.

Lets remember folks, even if you sign up for a prize, somethings are just too good to be true.  Real prize winners don't need to pay up front to redeem their "prizes."

I received a call from this number last week. They only called once and when I answered the gentlemen introduced himself as Mario with some consumer report survey company I signed up to do surveys online for. He told me that I won a $1000 gift certificate that would be good to spend anywhere online. He also said they were sending 6 free issues of some random magaizines and a list of 200 other magazines. The only information he asked me for was my age and status.  I asked him what the catch was and he told me the only catch is that i read and enjoy the magazines and fill out the survey they'll be sending along with the magazines. I figured it was a scam, but if it is I can't understand what they would be scamming me for. They asked for no relavent information that they could use to f*** me with.  So I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. See if this $1000 gift certificate comes or not. I will keep you updated on what the outcome of this call is. But I'm not nervous about being scammed at all.

I am on the phone with this number right now.  they claim that i have won a 7 day vacation package for 4 people to Universal Studios and Daytona Beach and that I have to pay $498 up front right now to reserve my spot.  it's tempting, but i'm very skeptical.  I've been looking up stuff online about them to figure out if it's a scam or not...i wish it weren't, but it seems too good to be true...

Everyday 3 times a day or more they r calling. I'm in ontario too. It just started this week.  Same as everyone else, I don't answer nor do they leave a message. Last time I had a persistant call like this it was CDMA trying to give m a credit card. I'm on the do not call list but apparently this does not stop these people. Ridiculous!! I just wish I knew who this was....? And how they get my unlisted cell info. Ridiculous!!

I just got a call from this number... also didn't answer, nor did they leave a voice mail - but it's a Florida area code...

954 FL: Broward County area, incl Ft. Lauderdale (part of what used to be 305, see overlay 754)

Seeing as I don't know anyone done there (I'm in Ontario Canada) I'm not going to bother with this....

Dude, same thing just happened to me.  "Karen Howard" called me about a contest I entered at comic-con.  Seven days, six nights, Universal Studios, Orlando Florida.  She transferred me to "Daniel Laing" who tried to pressure me into paying $498 in "liabilities."  These people need to be put down for almost getting a poor college student excited.

Happened to me lately too. They have been called for the past week...well...since the Tulsa State Fair at least....finally I answered and let them tell me all about the great trip to Universal Studios and blah blah and that all I have to worry about is the $500 taxes and liability. They transferred me to another person who was trying to get my card info. Of course  I didn't give it. I told them I didn't have it with me and he kept pressuring me to find it or "Can you call your husband at home for the info." These people are sick.

Here's what Lifelight Fest sent me regarding my email to them about this number:

"Thank you for contacting LifeLight. We are so sorry about the call you received. Please do not give them your credit card information. We were unaware of the offer that they are now making and did not give them permission to solicit anyone in this manner. We are in contact with the company (which is NOT affiliated with LifeLight) and are working to solve this issue as soon as possible. Please let us know if they try to contact you again. Thanks so much for your support and concern."

Jed, it was the one right when you walked in saying door prizes and it was some kind of travel booth.  I emailed Lifelight to see if they checked out this business or have had other complaints...

I also attended LifeLight Festival, but cannot remember which booth it was that I signed up for a contest and now they are calling me telling me that I am the grand prize winner of a Universal Studios trip to Orlando.  I did not believe them but surprised that there are so many reports on here.  I asked them which booth I signed up at and they didn't even know.

I feel violated that my information from a Christian event is being used to try to steal from me.
