Whoever this is calls my cell phone several times a week.  He sometimes leaves a message asking for Lisa to call Alex at the law offices of Wagner & Hunt PA at 800-777-2602. Most of the time though, they just hang up after it rings a few times.

I don't have an American Express card and never have.  I don't have debt of any kind and have never paid a bill late in my life.  And my name isn't Lisa.  Why are they calling me?

I get repeated calls from 954-623-5180.  I haven't picked up, but he leaves a message identifying himself as Cadani Trinidad at Wagner & Hunt, a law firm in Margate FL, who is trying to reach a Julia South.  He asks that she call him back at 954-935-6966 ext 282.  I am not Julia South, so I have not returned his calls.  I am tired of receiving calls for a person I don't know, especially since my voice message clearly identifies who I am.

Like the previous poster, I do not have an American Express card and have a perfect credit rating.  I also wonder why this firm is calling my number.

Hi, Just saw your post saying that Wagner and Hunt violated FDCPA in their letters. I am going up against them in court next week. Can you point me in the direction of what I should look for in the letters?

The thing about this company is they know they have the wrong number, since my answering message clearly states who I am and I have told them myself whenever I answer.  But they continue to call asking for someone named Lisa.  They must think I'm harboring her or something.  It's weird and annoying since I don't have an American Express card and I pay all of my bills on time.  Since I pay for my cell phone minutes, I'm charged every time they call and I resent it!

Maybe if you would let them know you have the wrong number they would stop calling.  DUH!!!!

did they show up with the sheriff after first obtaining a judgement or did they just show up?  Curious as to what the legal semantics were before your car was taken.

Please be careful of this company.  If you can't pay Amex, they sue you then they show up to your house with a Sherrif and try to take your car.  If it is there, it is theirs.  If you are in Florida, your house may be ok, if it is homesteaded.  They also will clean out your bank account if they find it and they will also send a notice to your employer to try to garnish your wages.  Do not try to sell your vehicle to a family member or friend after you have been sued as that could be illegal.  You CAN sell the vehicle however to a strange and put the money somewhere safe or have a non spouse buy a vehicle on your behalf.  As I said, these people use every trick in the book, so be very wary if they sue you.  They will take anything they can get their hands on that is not nailed down. I also installed Magicall on my Windows PDA phone, so that it will hang up their calls automatically, so that they don't fill my voicemail.  Good luck.

Left a whistle but no message 3rd time within the last week

watch out - if the debt is large they will sue (i'm one of their victims with a legitimate sob story) and finally found a lawyer (violations all over their letters etc.) and obsessive about calling constantly - good luck but beware as the judges are on their side so you have to nail them with fdcpa violations and they will go away (wish i knew this a year ago)

I've received many calls from this number on my house phone...little do they know that the only people who have our home phone number are bill collectors and people we don't really wan to talk to...we almost NEVER pick up the house phone.
