this happened to me today as well,i asked for paper work and then they hang up on me,im reportng them to the police and who ever it takes to take care of their scams.

this number called me saying my husband is going to be arrested for a loan he took out for 500 dollars.he said it was wired to our bank. i told him we dont do loans with anybody. he told me that its a loan that he had for about four years. i told that was a lie because we just open a account this year so you couldnt of send anything to an account. i ask him what was the company name he tried to talk really fast so i couldnt understand him. i ask him to spell it out that when he got upset and hung up the phone on me. he was a foreign guy trying to run a scam on us.

Ive called them 100 times today because i have nothing else to do today until tonight! They are enraged! they only answer ever 15-20 times i call and its the same person. I told them i contacted the FBI and i laughed at him. He is from the durka durka law. hahahaha. im going to continue calling, have people call and really give them a taste of their own!!!!!!!!!!!

These people are calling my number saying they are the police and they are going to arrest me if I do not pay them.  They have my SSN and called it out to me.

Just got another call today. Twice in one day. These poor people must be starving to pry on innocent people. Total scam because they don't provide anything in writing ehen asked about. Guess I'll email the AG office and get them stopped. There is nothing they can do without providing some kind of proof first.

For the past 2 days, I have been getting the same types of phone calls as debbie, zak and pam..The same MO thick Indian voice saying the samething, it was a lady that called and said that I owed on a payday loan, of which I know nothing about, asking me if I had a lawyer, and that I would be arrested at 11:30 today because they were talking about I owed this money and I live all the way out here in California. But it was the guy I have  gotten into an arguement with saying that he was her supervisor. Because they refuse to give up calling,and give out any information. But I to have saved the messages and will be reporting this to the police, and the state attorneys office..

I keep gettin calls and voice messages from this number saying I have a civil suite against me, not saying why. :e can't even pronounce my name. I keep getting payday messages and I have no idea why! This is getting on my nerves! I have never borrowed money for anything except for school loans. I called the number back but a message saying that number was inactive picked up. I don't know what else to do but keep ignoring it..can anyone help?

got a call from this number they told me i owed a payday loan and if i did not pay it in full i would have a warent out for my arrest the next day i was told to put the money on a pre paid money pack card and they would call me to get the numbers i reserched it and found it is a total scam these people are crazy dont talk to them and dont fall for it

Ive been receiving phone calls from a so called Kelly Smith with a hindue accent, threatening to put me in jail if i dont pay for a loan I never took. These people have been making threats via my cell phone and my place of employment as well. I know this is a scam, but how do we make this stop?

I received this same caller this morning,  He said i received a payday loan in 2007 and that I never paid it back.  He said I was going to be arrested.  I supposable,  owe 352.00 which included late fees.     really cute,  with the late fee from 2007,  i must have borrowed a dollar!!!  HA HA   he is not very smart!!!!  I traced the call coming from Pompano, Fl.

Just got a call from American Law Division and spoke to a Kelly Smith who informed my that i had one hour to decide if i was going to pay a $300.00 loan that i suppose to have received and if i did not i would be served papers by 1130 am tom.  I know it is a scam cause you can hear ppl in background on other phones.  I told her that if i received another call from any place regarding this loan form Cash Advance that i would be considering this harassment and that all the information and i have to my local police department. She hung up on me guess she did not like my reason for not paying off my this bogus loan.

these people keep calling me for someone else and using language that is vulguage in nature.

I got the same phone call today from 954-657-9778, saying I owed USA Cash Advance.
This is so crazy that people are still tring to dup people out their money.
This guy had a deep indian accent and I must say was quite rude.

Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

I have been receiving calls from this number and several other numbers over the past 1-1/2 years.  They keep saying that I owe a debt  (and the amount changes every time) and that if I don't pay it, then they are going to have to proceed against me in a court of law.  I keep asking them for any and all information to verify what they are charging me with, but they just say that I "should know" what I owe and if I don't pay them now then they are going to send out a deputy to have me "served."  I just tell them that they should have my address and I will be looking for the deputy to show up and serve me and I will appear as charged in court.   Then they stop calling me for a bit and then they start up again.  I don't know how to stop them and now they are even calling my employers.  Any advice would surely be appreciated!  diggersmom

I received a call from a Michelle Williams from 954-657-9778, she stated all of what other consumers were stating, I said well send me the or give me a copy of an invoice to verify the debt, she got nasty telling me not to interrupt her, the conversation is being recorded, OK but I just want to tell you please don't call my JOB anymore take this number out of your data base, she even stated that I will be arrested, again who and what is the name I will give the company a call to get this matter taken care of.
but anyway, I asked her for confirmation of this debt so that I could pass it on to my lawyer and she stated the police will be picking me up tomorrow. Anyway, she sounds like Indian woman or something of that nature, it appears that there are allot of people in the background, she also identified herself as an investigator.

This number called and said I had a law suit in my name and this woman had stick Iraqi accent I live in Nevada and they were calling from Florida I have this person call me twice I know this is a scamI

I am also getting this phone call- Mitchell left me to messages telling me the same thing said this is her second voice mail and i better be scared and listen to her or else all she can do is say goodluck to me and god bless... I received a call from this number today with a lot of nonsense talk. They preceeded to call my husbands cell and leave a message with h same talk. I called back pretending to be a lawyer and they put me on hold and then hung up.

wont stop calling harrassing over things i dont understand

This caller has called 3 times asking for a certain employee. They have heavy India accents trying to sound American, which is a turn off from the get go! They use names like John Williams, Alex Smith. They threaten if a return call isn?t made by saying ?you or your attorney needs to call ASAP or we wish you good luck as the bad situation will unfold upon you!? WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THIS? Now the caller says they are sending investigators to the house and the job! Very scary people, but they will not listen to me that I am not the party they are looking for! I am now recording their messages.

I keep getting calls at work and on my cell phone I let the person know that I had called the police department in their area & provided the number then the "supervisor" used foul language and called me several name. The person didn't provide the name of the company nor did he provide the name of his company. When I called I asked to speak with Kelly Smith & asked for my number I refused to give my number then the person that answered the call said my name & then passed me to the psycho "supervisor"
