ANNOYING!!!
Sherri 2011-06-06 21:08:06 Unknown
It's a scam trying to sell Health Insurance!!! They called my cell 3 times today. I let the first 2 go since I did not recognize the number, and caught the third call. The lady said, "I understand you've been online searching for health coverage." I said, "I haven't been online searching for health coverage," and right away she said, "Okay, thank you for your time." I wanted to ask how she knew I was "online" but she hung up too quickly!

received a call 1.26.09 did not leave a message, i need to know who is calling me.
Bobbie 2011-06-06 21:08:06 Unknown
I had signed up to get quotes through a reputable site. I have received about 7 calls over the last two days. Because of this thread I was able to call the 800-785-7140 number and verified it was there company.
I explained to them that I was not happy with these hang ups and the rude customer service hang ups when I requested they email me their information. I also explained that their company may be good but their reputation isn't looking so great from all these posts I am finding about their company.
I asked that she put a no soliciting notice on my number and she kindly gave me the website (that I did not take) and said I could get my quote there.
Hopefully it will work for everyone else.

How Do I File a Complaint about a Telemarketer or Junk Faxer?
Once you have registered for the Do Not Call Registry, you should no longer receive calls from most telemarketers unless they are exempt. If you receive a call from a telemarketer who is not exempt, you may file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Communications Commission.
The law gives telemarketers a "safe harbor" when they erroneously contact individuals listed in the National Registry. A telemarketer is not liable for violating the National Do Not Call rules if it can demonstrate the call was made in error. A call is considered erroneous if a telemarketer can show that it has taken the necessary steps to comply with laws regarding the National Registry and its company-specific do not call list. These include personnel training, written policies, and updating its calling list with new national registrants every three months. The following are instances where you should consider filing a complaint against a telemarketer. If you:
Are on the Do Not Call Registry and are contacted by a telemarketer who is not exempt.
Receive a telemarketing call that you believe is a scam or is misleading.
Are solicited to pay a fee to join the National Do Not Call Registry (see Part 7).
Are not put on a company's company-specific do not call list after requesting to be.
Have received a junk fax without having an existing business relationship with the sender.
You will need to compile as much information about the company as possible to include with your complaint: the company's phone number as transmitted through Caller ID or your fax machine, or provided verbally by the telemarketer, the name of the company, and date of the call or fax. If the telemarketer says it is calling on behalf of another company, you can ask for the name of the telemarketing company in addition to the name of the company on whose behalf they are calling. Do not forget to provide your phone number on the complaint, especially if you are listed on the National Registry. If you are complaining about a junk fax, be sure to provide your fax number on the complaint.
Both the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communications Commission can fine telemarketers up to $11,000 per violation. This fine can be assessed for each phone call to a number that is subscribed to the registry. (16 CFR 1.98) Both the FCC and FTC will share complaints with each other and with states' attorneys general for possible action against telemarketers who violate state and federal laws. The following is a guideline for determining which agency to file a telemarketing or junk fax complaint with.

They're calling me, too. Even if you answer on the first ring, they drop the line. It's absolutely harrassment.
Taf 2008-10-06 17:00:31 Unknown
The problem with being on the Do Not Call list is that if you EVER give some company your phone number, they are free to give it to attached companies, and they to their attached companies, and so on. You essentially invalidate you Do Not Call listing with just one step.

I called 800-785-7140 from an above post and they are taking me off their call list. Haven't gotten a call since.

Go to this link to file a complaint about the company. The more people who complain, the more likely the FCC will look into the complaints and hopefully stop the calls for us all. If there are this many people taking the time to list complaints on various websites then there are a vast amount of people dealing with these annoying, unrequested calls from this company. If you want the calls to stop and spare others from having to deal with it you've got to notify the FCC through the above link.

This number has been calling several times a day and never leaves a message. I finally answered the call today. A woman started laughing and hung up the phone. When I tried to call the number, all I have been able to get is a busy signal.
Shaun 2008-08-20 19:55:58 Unknown
Five calls and does not leave a voice mail. The sixth call and hangs. I am on the Do Not Call list, therefore, they are up to $66,000 in fines.
Jennifer 2008-08-11 20:17:31 Unknown
Thank you, thank you Kim - that telephone number worked and I finally got a human being who claimed he'd put me on a no-call list - I hope it works. Thanks for posting this number!
