The Doctor's lease the space from LensCrafters and just like you would get a postcard from your dentist, they are reminding you that you are due for an exam.  In most states, contact lens patients need to be seen every year.  Most insurances pay for an eye exam every year and new lenses every year, but will only pay for new frames every two years.  Most patients actually appreciate the reminder and either keep the appointment or reschedule. I think you are wrong about being forced to buy an LC.  If anything, patients are intimidated by their Opthomologist office and won't even ask them for the prescription & make up excuses not to buy from them and then have to get LC to call for the RX.  LC doctor's give the patient the rx and don't care where they go to purchase.

How to block this?????

Lenscrafters is their landlord, they are "tenants." That's the only financial arrangement... the doctors are paid by the customers and the Dr. staff is paid by the Dr.

However, the Dr. & staff use a phone line that is billed to Lenscrafters, so that's why the caller ID comes up with their name. Just like any other retail lease department arrangement.

I've never heard anything about them selling phone numbers - in fact, I think the law prohibits them from doing so because it is a medical treatment. But I could be wrong.

Long and short is just like any other phone solicitor: either ignore it or pick it up and ask them to remove you. Even if you are on the Do Not Call list, they can call you if you have done business with them in the past. If you ask to be removed and continue to receive calls after a certain amount of time, that becomes a different matter.

4 minutes of my life that i can't get back due to LensCrafters. Thanks to my friends in cyberspace... Have the call center put you on their no call list. They seem to be polite. We'll see how long it takes to stop the calls...

When i pursued it - I was actually told - in my case - that -

The INDEPENDENT Doctor Next to lenscrafters -  had an exam booked for me - and
my entire family - !! We went their last year - ALTHOUGH we did not buy glasses from them - we saw the doctor !!
I had a few concerns  that i posed to them -

1st - they say - they asked me at teh time of my exam - if i would like to pre apt - for next yr - !!
I don't recall doing this - since we only have exams every 2 years with our insurance coverage - BUT hey - if they say this - and i honestly can not recall i will give them that -

2- I asked why lenscrafters would  have my number - if i saw a INDEPENDANT doctor - NEXT 2 lenscrafters ( IT appears they might not be so INDEPENDANT - HA ??
I was informed that they are - and that lenscrafters supplies their sceduling system for them at no charge - and that LENSCRAFTERS DOES NOT have access to the info - that a 3rd party - supplied with the doctor - takes care of the apts -and confirmation calls ect -

I just find this odd - that these doctors - are supposed to be independants - however - the lenscrafters name is al over everything - !! I did question them - on this and they say their pts will reconize the name more then the doctors that you saw there -

They really did try to push me to buy there - after my exam - however - we just walked out - after entertaining them a bit -  

I guess they both are hard up for the $$ - and that is why i am going to a new doctor next time -

They call me at least twice a day.  I don't pick up and their number showing up on my screen is starting to get annoying.  How can they have my number when I've registered it on the do not call registry?

I just got a call from them.  I am a Lenscrafters customer, although I haven't been since the summer and do not have an appointment planned.

I keep getting calls from this number.. RRRR it is so annoying. When I called back I just left my number to be taken out off of there list. I would not give them your name, They don't need to know that information. Your giving them information they want.

I get calls from this number at least four times a day.  If it is in fact Lenscrafters, they cancelled my appointment while I was in route to their shop.  Awful business practices.  I hope they call again, I'll give them a piece of my mind.

My caller ID says it's Lenscrafters.  They have taken the liberty of scheduling an appointment for my daughter without my consent.  Apparently, they are calling to make sure the time works.  I'll tell you what, they just lost my business.

These people are awful! Shame on lenscrafters, they apparently sell phone numbers when you make an appointment.  It takes over 24 hours for the calls to stop, mine haven't yet so I don't even believe it yet!

This is a Eye care appointment reminder.  Call it back and leave a message with your name and phone number and ask to be removed It takes about 48 hours.  This number calls me at least 5 times a day.

This bloody number is calling me 3 times a day !
Does anyone knows how to stop that ?

I started receiving daily calls from this number since LENSCRAFTER sent me an email and postcard reminding me of an appointment. When I answered, no one was on line. Sounds fishy to me.

I get calls from this number non stop!!!  What's the sense of being on the do no call list?????  WTF!

It's all a sham. The recording says 'Lensecrafters is not available today' then beeps as if for you to leave a message. The Lenscrafters phones do not have voicemail set up in this fashion, also all appointment reminders are done through one of the men or women that work in the branch office. They will call and say "this is lenscrafters calling for John Doe to confirm his appointment Saturday at 10am" ... It's a scam. They called me once. Although, I am a client at Lenscrafters. I called my doctor's office and had him check all their company information for this number and no where is it listed with the company.

I bought a pair of glasses from lenscrafters one year ago.  I received a card in the mail last week saying I needed to come in for a check up.  I started receiving calls on my cell phone about two weeks ago.  They don't leave a message and I don't pick up calls I can't identify. They call twice a day, morning and late afternoon.  954-678-4802 needs to stop calling my cell!

Four days ago I received a reminder card in the mail from Lenscrafters that my yearly appt was due soon.  Yesterday I started getting calls from this number.  Anyone know what we can do about this, how can tell they give out our phone numbers like that?????????????

I recieved a postcard in the mail about a week ago from Lenscrafters stating I have an eye appointment scheduled and I need to call and confirm. I have not been to Lenscrafters in about 2 years and I did not schedule an appointment with them either. Today I get a phone call from 954-678-4802, which I did not answer because I didn't know the number. It makes perfect sense that this is Lenscrafters and for being such a large company this is a very disrespectful and unprofessional way of trying to get patients into the office. I definitley will not be returning to them, besides, they are a rip off!

Yeah that does make sense. I got a call too and I didn't answer either. As soon as I saw all of you talking about Lenscrafters, it clicked. It has been almost 1 year since my last appointment. They are probably calling to remind me to schedule an appointment, but screw that place! I have never been so disrespected by any other service type of business as I have by this place!

I received a call on my cell. When I picked up the line, they hung up. So I went to 411.com and it shows the # is a land line out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. with no name attached.
