That's a lie, they are trained extensively on how to conduct themselves on the phone and take it from personal experience, they are not trained to tell lies and anyone who is lying doesn't last very long. God bless you thasc keep up the good work.

Lady called me today @ work. I only answered because I assumed it to be a vendor we so business w/. She asked for the owner, & I told her the owner was not here. Asked if I could make small purchases over the phone, I said No. Became angry & asked who could. She then asked me when a manager or owner would be in & I told her that I didn't know, as only one person works @ a time. She said "well that doesn't help" in a rude voice. I asked what she needed & I volunteered to call/text my manager & she just hung up on me! Rude! About to call back & ask to be removed from their list. You're not going to sell anything w/ that attitude lady!

Love TASC GEM Pens!

We've been ordering the "gem" pens from THASC for all but two of the last twelve years.  The quality has been great until this year - we had a problem with the pens not twisting to open or close.  I called and they are replacing the entire order, not only the 3 dozen that don't work.

I've never had a rude "cold call".  Everyone I've talked to has been very friendly and knowledgeable.  They understood completely when a forest fire affected our business and wished us the best of luck with the recovery.  No pressure to "give even a little" like other companies.  It took two years but we were able to purchase pens this year.

I will continue to order from them as long as I can.

I purchased a small pack of general cards (24 cards and envelopes) for about $40
The price did not seem too out of line

The sales gal did call me numerous times (I ignored most of the calls due to caller ID)

Product came in and quality is fine.

She did use the "help the handicap" line as part of her pitch - but I have no real complaints - I guess when you telemarket you keep calling ontil they buy or finally say no

I tried to conact one of the artists to see if they were getting any direct support from these sales. The first artist; Robert Mauro, passed away over two years ago.  Robert probably doesn't get anything from the sale of his work.  I have emailed other artists.  Will update as I get more info.

The woman who called me from Thasc was the nicest and most professional telemarketer I have ever talked to (and I am a professional salesperson). She really believes in the product - I need some cards so I'll order some. If I don't like them I can donate them.

This company continually calls our office trying to sell magnets, pens, etc and won't take "NO!" for an answer. I have no put them on the Do Not Call Registry but it sounds like B2B isn't covered by the registry. I also have blocked them on our phone. Hopefully that does the trick.

I hope the whole thing is legit. but if not I am not going to lose much sleep. The lady that calls me is so nice it does not matter to me.

I am a sucker.  I just bought cards.  I know I overpaid but it sounds like it is for a good cause - I do hope most of the money goes to the handicapped but that may be naive.  Before I gave my credit card number to them I went on line and found that they do have a webpage and the BBB gave them an A+ ranking.  I fouind that they have been in business since the 70s.

The telemarketer who called me was polite and patient while I verified their status on line.  She did take my card number down incorrectly and had to call me back but she was pleasant and polite.

Thasc Company.

Handicapped sales pitch. I think they are a legitimate company, but the cold sales calls are a bit much and offputting.

I wonder who some people who post on this site think they are talking to?

Do they honestly think this site is run by the very telemarketers who call them?

"Please stop calling...we are not interested".

Gee, I did not call you. You are not interested in what? If you want, give me your phone number and I will call you when you AREe 'interested'. Then maybe we can go have a beer at my place!

An Elizabeth Harker called us today from this company. She said they need to sell more cards to avoid layoffs of handicapped and senior citizens. I hate telemarketing calls, I asked her to mail info and she said to go to their website...

I hate sales calls, especially when they try to guilt you into buying something..

they called today 3/15/09) after about a two year hiadus.  Previously bought their pens years ago--was not satisfied with the quality whatsoever, but since they were already paid for,I kept them.  Maybe the fact that they are made by handicapped people caused me to not ask for a refund.  But I'd rather buy bic pens than theirs--they're cheaper and better.  As for the greeting cards---eh---nothing special there also.  I just wonder whether they pay 3rd party people to cold call.  That sucks if they do because they then use the handicap guilt trip on you.

Got a sales call from this number trying to sell pens and cards for handicapped and seniors.  Played the circle game about getting my number taken off their list.  Don't just tell them you are not interested.  You need to tell them never to call your number again.  If they fail to do that, then you can report them and get them fined!

I have never received a call from this number, but have received calls from THASC twice a year for several years.  The same person calls me each time and is a real jewel of a person.  She is a delight to talk to, is an outstanding representative of THASC and I look forward to talking with her twice a year. She is not a telemarketer; she is deeply involved with THASC and loves what she does.  The number she gives out is the same number as shown on the website.  THASC is a legitimate company with legitimate employment for seniors and  handicapped.  I have NEVER been besieged with phone calls; I have been respectfully called only twice a year.  On the few occasions I have declined, my answer was well accepted.  Those of you who are complaining should contact THASC directly and let them know your complaints; perhaps they employed a third party telemarket company at some point; THASC would probably appreciate knowing about complaints so they can take care of it.  All I know is that I am not getting called by any third party person. Also regarding the products, so what if they are not the best-made products in the world and so what if you don't even really need them.  The point is senior citizens and handicapped people are making the products and are gainfully employed.  Good for them.

Sue called she's pleasant a bit pushy, but which sales person isn't.  I asked for a website and sure enough they have one.  You can definitely order online and I told Sue that if I decided to I will purchase from the website.   Hesitating on purchasing, have had bad experiencing with something like this before.

Received a call from Barbara @ THASC SALES (954-692-6400) who was very pleasant and courteous.  She was looking for a donation for cards, pens, etc. that have been done by the handicapped.  I allowed her to get through her whole routine message before telling her that the corporation officers have decided only to support the handicapped in our area.  Didn't want to hear of all that we support in NYS.  She  thanked me for the time.

Phone number is being entered on the list of phone numbers to be blocked.

They are legit, polite, BUT VERY PERSISTANT.  I would rather keep my business local in tough times we have a sheltered workshop for "special" people just up the street.  I have to say the sales ladies are as sweet and persistent as any grandmother who won't take NO for an answer.  They call yearly at the same time, they will eventually take no for an answer, I ordered some cards, they were not to my tastes but they were as described.  Wish they had more current Avant-gard art made by the handicapped.

This company has been calling me like crazy.  I told the lady on the phone that I would have to check them out on the internet before I would buy anything,  because you never know who you are dealing with on a cold call.  I got 3 calls the next day after the initial call. I got 10 calls yesterday and already today I have had 2 calls before 9AM.  These phone calls are very annoying and for this reason, I am not going to buy anything. I can understand a call every 2 weeks or so to see if I am ready to buy but this is ridiculous.  I hope, for the sake of those disabled people, that this company changes their marketing strategy.

THASC is a private company so it doesn't have to open it's books to show profits.  They weren't able to tell me over the phone how much the elderly and seniors earn who work for them.  I'd especially like to know the profit vs. pay ratio.  Unfortunately, I have found nothing yet.
