Caller ID name - Amer Preferred from 954-772-2148.   Woman told me she was calling from this company and they are the top publisher of over 200 magazines.  She wanted to ask how my service has been - if there were any ripped magazines, or problems with delivery.  I asked her a few ?'s about the company she was calling from - as it didn't sound "right".  She repeated herself.  I said my magazines are just fine - probably shouldn't have even said that - and also mentioned I was not going to tell her what magazines I do receive - again I probably shouldn't have even said that either.  I thought it was interesting too that she wasn't going to call me, but it was a very important matter and she had to call.  Wow- important, huh?!  I went to www.whitepages.com and did a look-up of this ph. number.  It did not have a listing other than it was from Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  I guess I need to report it to BBB or some place like that.  I will probably never stop hearing from them now....

We have been receiving calls from this number, along with two other numbers of 954-772-3643 and 954-772-2061 with the same caller ID name-American Preferred.  My husband has answered a couple times, and gets a hang up.  This evening, someone finally asked for me.  When he said I was not home and asked if he could take a message, they hung up.  They have called no less than 20 times over the past month, today was the first time someone actually talked, usually its a hang up when he answers the phone.   Usually, we see who's on the caller ID and ignore the call, but it's really getting annoying.

By posting what happened, you have saved many people the unpleasant experience of buying from this company.  Sure, she was unprofessional.  But maybe she's not a professional.  Maybe she's a scammer?

I've had crooks call me things like this when I've figured out they're trying to scam me and ended the call.

You did the right thing.  You hung up!  Keep in mind that they will call again.  I get calls about every 6 months from this number and I'm on the DO NOT CALL list.  No legitimate company would ignore the DO NOT CALL list.  What does that tell you about this company?

I received a phone message on January 22, 2011 at 12:03 p.m. and aftering listening to her a few minutes I nicely hung up.  At 12:05 p.m. she called back and called me a bi*** and hung up.  It was from this number 954-772-2148.  I think this needs to be turned over to the Better Business Bureau.  If you have any comments on this you can reach me at my home phone 256-757-2941.  I think I deserve an apology.  This is very uncalled for, unethical and unprofessional.

No messages--just calls.

They keep calling my home phone.  No answer when I return the call and then the line goes dead.
