Greetings...I received a phone call this morning from this number on my personal cell phone. I am not sure how they were able to match my vehicle with my cell phone, but they knew I had a Ford Escort. The gentleman that called was polite, but I was suspicious. He stated that they (no company name offered) had sent several fliers to my home asking me if I wanted to extend my warranty. My car is pretty old, so I am pretty sure any and all warranties had already expired. He immediately started asking me questions about my car. When he asked me if my address was still the same, I said no, because I am in the military and move alot. He quickly said, "thank you for your time and hung up." I think this might be a scam.

DO NOT believe the positive comments about these a-holes. THEY come to these boards and add positive comments for themselves. Check it out if you don't believe me.
These jerkoff telemarketers are RUDE and offensive.

This number is on record with the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida as belonging to Warranty Renewal Company, 5220 NE 19th Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308. I filed a complaint with them online after receiving numerous increasingly worthless and irritating phone calls from this number (after I told them twice to stop calling me, they kept calling back but would hang up when I answered the phone), and you can too!
http://www.seflorida.bbb.org/ComplaintDetail.aspx?CompanyID=92013121
The City of Ft Lauderdale's website also notes,
"The State of Florida (1-800-HELPFLA) and the Federal Communications Commission (1-888-CALLFCC) may be contacted to file complaints against companies that violate state and federal laws regarding telephone soliciting. If you have concerns, please call either agency for assistance."

Bob:
This is the first time ever that I have browsed one of these message board websites to see what people are saying about our company, and I would not pretend to be a satisfied customer when our company has so much positive feedback. As for being rude and offensive, I would say that anyone who posts comments using language such as yours qualifies for those descriptions. We have strict regulations about the use of such language in our business, just as we have stringent federal and state regulations to observe in the course of our activities. While it is true that many unauthorized and illegitimate agencies have proliferated in the past, our agency welcomes the activities of various state attorneys general in their efforts to limit and restrict those operations. We are a legitimate licensed agency, and we operate along standardized industry guidelines... which include a ban on profanity.

I told them in no uncertain terms to FU&* OFF!! Hope I didnt offend anyone here but I wanted them to get my message!!
Some of these companies are being sued by a bunch of states, there was a big article on Fox news about all of these scam warranties, any yet they keep calling.
Perhaps these a** knockers could use a swift kick in the balls instead of being sued. I hope they read this message!!

I got two calls from this number and picked up the second time. He asked for information about my car and told me my warranty was about to expire. I had a bad feeling because of his lack of professionalism and didn't give him any info. When I started asking questions and refused to give him info he hung up on me.
I've never been a victim of ID theft and this was upsetting to say the least. You can never be too careful and never give out info over the phone!
toyotaowner 2009-02-20 17:02:09 Unknown
This isn't just a BMW scam -- I got called about a Toyota Corolla (which I do own). I spoke to them the first time they called, I realized it was a scam and they hung up when I questioned them a bit. They called again today and hung up when I answered. I'm thinking about calling them back and teasing them with more questions.
TreadLightly 2009-02-20 16:27:41 Unknown
I didn't answer the call. I called them back from another phone and the answering machine stated it was the "Warranty Renewal Department".
kyz 2009-02-20 02:31:29 Unknown
Yeah, that's what I'm getting too. I've gotten 3 or 4 calls from this number, but never leave a VM and when I answer the call, there's no one there. Finally annoyed me enough that I looked it up.. I wonder if they're going to try to offer me a warrantee on my '95 car? ;D
Blah 2009-02-20 00:23:59 Unknown
They called me, I answered but no one spoke when I said hello, then they hung up. Second day in a row.

I received a call from this number (claiming to be the Warranty Administrator for Audi) stating that I didn't answer to the flyers that were mailed out to me regarding the expiration of the warranty on my vehicle. Just like the above, they alleged that this was a courtesy call and would be my last notification to extended the warranty on my vehicle. I told them I my cell phone battery was dying and I was out of town (which was true but wanted to buy some time) and to give me 24 hours to call back. They reluctantly said they would hold it for 24 hours and even gave me a claim number for me to call back. I'm glad I found this website regarding this as it is obviously a scam. BTW - I did a quick check on Audi extended warranties and you can purchase them on the web from legit companies for cheaper than they were quoting me anyway. As they say, buyer beware.

Called at 6 pm one night. Didn't leave v/m. After reading all these posts (and those of other websites) I am not calling back. If they call back I am going to mess with them to the best of my ability. I am in sales so i know how to string them out (evil laugh)

Some of you must sleep with one eye open cause you are so stupid and paranoid. This warranty co. is not a scam. I purchased a warranty from them and had to use it last week. Everything they told me on the phone was covered plus even more when I got the paper work. They had all my car info when they called me. VIN#, engine size, 4WD, etc. and even told me a list of dealers to go to in my area. Saved me $3750 out of my pocket.

Answered the phone today and the guy said wrong number! weird.

In the movie, did you play the role of Dumb or Dumber? Become an informed consumer that at least knows car warranties over the phone are a scam.
mary44 2009-02-13 17:33:30 Unknown
i purchased a warranty from this company. I received my policy and took to my service dept at saab. They told me they do accept this warranty.hope this works out.By the wat they said they were the agent for the adminastrator not the manufacturer.

I just received a call from these people (claiming to be from BMW) stating that I didn't answer to the flyers that were mailed out to me regarding the expiration of the warranty on my vehicle. This was a courtesy call and would be my last notification to extended the warranty on my vehicle. I proceeded to tell him that I already have extended warranty already on my vehicle and he acted surprised and hung up. This is a SCAM!

They are obviously a scam and they obviously read these message boards and post the only two positive reviews. Ask them for their licensing information and they hang up on you.
jonesoh 2009-02-09 23:56:20 Unknown
I just got a call from these people about a BMW's warranty expiration. They kept asking questions. But then my English seemed to be horrible, they hung up all of a sudden.

This number called me yesterday. Picked up and they hung up.
