Like everyone else.
Just got a Txt from this number..
I don't have any accounts with FCU.
They claim my debit card has been blocked.

It sure would be nice if our Attorney General Eric Holder would work on this matters instead of trying to take my second amendment away.

I am going to give this a try.

IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH GROW DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too do not have an account with grow but called the number for the hell of it. It is a cheaply made automated system that is designed to get dumb people to enter their card number, valid expiration date, it wants your pin number, as well as the CVV code on the back. <<---EVERYTHING THEY NEED TO MAKE MANY PURCHASES ONLINE, AND MAKE PHONY CARDS TO TAKE YOU AT THE ATM'S AS WELL.

Call your bank and notify them of this fraud, i will try to find the telephone service supporting this number and inform them as well.

Paul is spot on. I did the same thing before reading these posts. recv'd text at 2am called from landline using *67 before dialing  and input 16 random digits, exp date, etc. wanted pin and more so just hung up at that point.
Would it do any good to contact authorities and since the call came from Broward County Florida(pompano bch) should you start there.  welcome any suggestions.

Or punch in fake numbers. Call early, call often, using *67 to mask your number.

This number is associated with a scam, wherein a text message is received by a recipient stating that their account with Grow Financial FCU has been blocked, and it instructs the recipient to call (954) 840-8984 to re-activate the credit card.  Upon calling the number you are instructed by an electronic voice to input your credit card information including the credit card number, expiration date, pin number, and three-digit CVV security number.  This phone number may also be associated with another scam from (305) 934-2193, in which the caller alleges that one of your relatives has been involved in a car accident and needs money.  DO NOT CALL THESE NUMBERS.  REPORT THE FRAUD TO THE FCC AND YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITIES.

yup, it's a scam. i don't have a grow financial FCU. i looked it up online and it's also a student loan website, so it's easy for someone to just text you because most people have student loans. i immediately came online and put in the phone number. Thanks for this website - helps us.
