Same story only it was Michael Chambers. I filed a complaint with the Florida BBB where Save The American Dream is based. (one of them) I also received the same letter from Wells Fargo Auto Loan. Save The American Dream replied to the BBB they had done what they promised....delivered paper work and that if I did not receive a loan modification I had not followed their instructions.
I just received a form from the Claims administrator of Save The American Dream Corp Activate Power Marketing offering half a refund if I sign and return the legal form releasing them from any action the the BBB might bring against them. I would guess because of other complaints. I am holding out for my full refund!!!!! I filed the complaint last year.

I know the person who is part of this "company" somewhat personally, his name is Karl Overington, he is from what I see a scam artist, he knows how to play peoples emotions as he has done mine, the best thing you can do is not let your guard down, keep an attitude, and do not feel sorry for him. I have been doing research on his "Company" and it seems to be family owned, I have many links here that will help anyone out of this scam, do not follow through with any of these people, they are rip offs.

I tried to re-finance my car to save some money but was turned down. About a week later I got a call from Michael Schrader who works for Save The American Dream. He said I could get my interest in half and they have a great relationship with Wells Fargo my lender. He said it would cost $350 dollars and they have a 98% success rate. If it does not work out with the lender
they will send me my $350 dollars back. I want it to be known that he said they have a great relationship with Wells Fargo and have been working with them for a long time.
After some thought I agreed and paid them the money. About a week later I received a packet from them with some forms for me to fill out to send to the lender. I filled out the forms and made copies of my driver license and insurance forms to send to them. I sent it priority mail which also cost me more money.
About 3 weeks later I received a letter from Wells Fargo. The letter stated that they do not do modifications and are no way affiliated with Save The American Dream. I called Save The American Dream and talked to Lashawn Mortin and she told me to send her the denial letter. She received the letter in 2 days and then called me. She needed me to call Wells Fargo and release authorization in order for her to speak on my behalf. She said she would call me back.
About a week later still no phone call so I called them and talked to Lashawn. She made up some excuse of why she did not call me back and told me the news. She said that Wells Fargo will not do modifications and that I have to call them in order to get a hardship case. She then advised me to direct all my concerns to her "manager" Christine. She told me she knows an underwriter there who has the final say. Yet she needed me to 'cough up' an additional $350 so she can process it through a sister company to avoid an automatic rejection. Sorry Lady, but I sure wasn't born yesterday nor am I going to let anyone swindle my blood, sweat and tears PERIOD. Michael Schrader had told me that they had a great relationship will Well Fargo?? Yeah right!
Well after all of this hassle my interest rate has not lowered and I am out of $350. I asked her about the refund and she said that this is all part of the process and you will not be getting it back. I did not argue with her I am going to post this every where I can so it does not happened to anyone else or they can make it good and give me my money back.
So pretty much what I have to do now is Call Wells Fargo myself and get this worked out with absolute no help from Save The American Dream. This Company is a compete Scam and should not be in business!!
"There is no better experience than what we offer. Get your loan modified by the industry leaders in loan modification help." -- nothing but one lie after another after another voicemail another lie and so forth...they are downright crooks and thieves.

Save The American Dream d/b/a Activate Power Marketing is a complete scam...do not send them your money because you will never get a red cent back from them. If the 90 day period hasn't expired, you still have a chance to dispute their antics with your card company.
If you sent cash, check or Western Union, initiate a small claims trial before they change their names again.

I did business with this company ( Save the American Dream), received the so-called package and was alittle nervous at first. I thought I was scammed but figured that I would just fill it out and send it in because at this point I was out of options. 3 weeks later i received a letter from my lender letting me know that the 3 months that I was behind was being defered to the end of my loan and that my payments would be reduced from 497.57 to 342.29 by extending my original term by 6 month's. I really cant complain. So just fill out the paperwork they provide and send it in. You never know!!!

I received a call from Jennifer September 21st. She stated that I qualified for a reduction and gave the same information she gave to Tony. I fell for it, and gave her my account number. Once I did research and found this site, I transferred my money to another account. Thanks everyone. I am going to the bank tomorrow and closing the account that I gave her. hahaha she is probably celebrating, but will get nothing! There is some Karma in that Tony.

and the company has changed names, too. At first "Kevin" said Save the American Dream but then corrected himself to Car Loan Modification Center. Same scam, though. Having read through the comments, I will not call back this bottom feeder - they obviously get names off applications for car loans or car loan refinancing.
Ana 2010-09-16 21:10:05 Unknown
His name now is Kevin, put the pitch is the same.... cut my car payments in half, etc.

WHAT i got the same Number as anyone else but the guy who called me his name was Rick Passrelli, how ever you spell it. thats crazy
Tony 2010-09-14 02:50:55 Unknown
I received a call today from someone named Jennifer from "Save the American Dream"
She somewhat explained an auto loan modification (something I have never heard of before)
She initially told me that my application to refinance from Well Fargo Bank was declined. How did she
know this? She insisted on me giving her my checking account number, or a major credit card
for a $350 one time service fee. Something didn't feel right. Gut instinct told me not to do this.
I told her that I would get back to her after I thought about it. She continued to call my home
phone and harass my roomate. "Where is Tony?" He needs to do this fast! This modification is done
on a first come first serve basis. I googled the number she gave me and so happy I saw this.
I then googled the website "Save the American Dream" Website was petty, unprofessionally designed, and just plain simple. Just remember what goes around comes around. Karma is a bi***!
BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

I was a bit skeptical when I received the same phone call as you guys but with the name "Kevin Mahoney". So I researched the company and phone number and found this page..boy good thing I found this because I am no longer calling him back.
Rebecca 2010-09-03 04:06:07 Unknown
I did the same... I had to do a 3 way conference call with my bank (fraud department) and this company. Knowing I was seriously going to push the issue got me my money back. The "agent" misrepresented the "product"... and I wasn't going to pay for what basically turned out to be nothing. I suggest cancelling your card, and letting them know you are not going to back down and lose your hard earned money. Good luck!
John Coyne 2010-08-31 18:04:45 Unknown
Got a call from "Mike Chambers" claiming to be from a company called "Live The American Dream" about lowering the payment on one of my vehicles. I do not know how he got my info, I DID NOT solicit his services and a return call was NOT made to his "office". I googled his "company name" and got nothing which is when I put in the name he left on my voice mail and landed right on this site.
Kathy H 2010-08-31 16:55:47 Unknown
I actually fell for this and gave him my credit card for the $350.00 fee. Don't know what to do at this point.

Mike Chambers gave me the number 954-848-2453 ext 104 and said he could lower my car payment. When I called it was a law office and they didn't know him. txs for your comments because I was wondering the same thing myself.
