Hey, I just got a call from these idiots. It does look like the caller is using YMAX, as a couple of posters above noted. I just wrote the company a letter (they don't have e-mail - WTF??). I told them that whoever uses this phone number is using it to sell drugs. Then I reported the number to the DEA. I think if everyone that gets these calls will write to the phone company and report the calls to the DEA EVERYTIME they get a call, someone will do something.

HEY!! Jokes on you Sucka:
Thanks for your reply. You are soo right about these individuals. They keep calling my work number. These same individuals called me about three months ago saying they were DEA agents and if I don't want to go to jail to give them money or I'm in risk of being arrested and sent to another country for trail. At first, they sounded soo real and it scared me to death. I know i did not do anything wrong, but i got to thinking what if someone else had stolen my identity and was doing these things. After a few phone calls back and forth with these guys I decided to call the local police department and that's when they told me about this scam. They tried calling me back numerous times leaving messages, which I still have a few saved on my phone. They threaten to take me to jail and threaten me that federal agents are on their way to my house to arrest me. This really scared me and it's a total SCAM. I can understand how people could get caught up within all of this. These individuals are the lowest of the lowest. POND SCUM in my eyes. Funny thing; when they a message they said "this is bla from DEA" not "hello this is Agent Smith from the US Drug Enforcement Agency". Good Luck to everyone out there receiving this calls from this number.

I did as someone else here did. I looked up the number to find the phone service carrier they use. I then wrote them a complaint. After that, I reported it to the DEA. I gave them the phone number and the name "Blue Meds".

Got a Robo-call from this number today claiming to be "Blue Meds" and claiming to be able to prescribe and ship me medications that are highly illegal these days...like oxycontin, hydrocodone, etc! I bet they can walk on water, too?
At the end of the recorded audio a voice came on and said to dial 1-866-899-8889 and enter an access code (is everyone getting the same one?) to be REMOVED from the call list.
I don't usually use those, since more often than not they only confirm you actually exist and then circulate your number further.
But I did give it a cautious try today. Entered the code. Got a message that claims I am "removed from all future calls". But just to be safe I put both phone numbers in my REJECT list!
This call came into my cellphone.

I'm glad people are taking action on this. I really wonder how they get our numbers and info. In fact, it creeps me out particularly because I just DID have extensive back surgery! I have done a lot of googling about back pain etc., so perhaps they got me through the sites I visited somehow? Interestingly, I'm a former public radio reporter and I did a story quite awhile ago about online narcotic drug sales. (The story was one of the first on the subject nationally and actually led to some aggressive action by the DEA and shut down at least two outfits.) But the point is, I did a lot of research on online drug sales and afterwards I got tons of spams from online drug dealers!

Anyway, I will write to the addresses listed above (thanks) but who else should I complain to? The last post suggests that you can file a complaint through the Do Not Call service. I agree the "service" hasn't done much good in general for blocking telemarketing calls, but I will see if I can figure out how to complain to the them about this specific caller. And as for emailing the carrier, mine is AT&T, so I should let them know as someone else suggests?

Again, I'm glad people are taking action. Unfortunately as one DEA guy told me when I did the story, it's just like bopping moles - you shut one down and a dozen more pop up. Still, even if it makes just a tiny dent in the business, we all need to keep after them! Tnx!

These people, or one's like them, have been harassing me for years. I have started filing a complaint for every call because I'm listed on the Do Not Call List (for all the good that does). I don't know what good it will do; supposedly they can be fined $11,000 per call. We'll see. I've decided to take the time and dedication to report EVERY call and see what happens. They are scammers.

This is the same old people. They use several different numbers. I took the advice of another poster. Whenever I get a call, I e-mail the phone carrier. Of course, they say they can't do anything because they can't just disconnect service based on an e-mail complaint. However, if enough people e-mail them everytime they get a call, the company will eventually do something. They don't want to be harassed either. They should feel the pain we do when their customers are harassing us.

They called my cell phone and left a message asking if I had back pain, or neck problems, they could help me out with medication.  They said they were called Blue Meds, and to call them back at another number - 202-559-7699.  When I called the 202 number to ask them to take me off their calling list, the man who answered called me a bi*** and said fine, he would take me off the list.  All I said to him was that I didn't appreciate him calling me and wanted to know how he got my number.  He said he got it from my doctor, which I know is not true, because my doctor doesn't give out that info.  I also reminded the guy who answered that if I did want to order meds, I wouldn't do it over the phone as he would need my credit card information and I don't give that out over the phone.  That's what prompted him to call me a bi***.....
I have reported it to our local FBI scam/fraud alert department.

When I checked my cell phone records, I noticed that most of these calls come from a company called YMAX Communications. Later, I found out that they own Magic Jack. I searched for a way to contact this company and found out that they do not have e-mail addresses or a phone number to contact them. I wonder why? There was a physical address, so I wrote the company a letter. I gave them a huge list of phone numbers that have been used to call, harass me, and attempt to illegally sell me drugs - not to mention impersonating a DEA officer. I suggested that they find out which of their customers are using these numbers and disconnect their service AND turn them in to the DEA or FBI or someone. Please do the same. If enough complaints come in, something might be done.

This caller sounds like a young, African American male. He does not say hello. He just launches into his pre-written script, "Do you suffer from back pain?" I don't answer further but have him on the line long enough to write down his phone number.

I keep recording these spam telemarketing phone numbers on a growing Excel spreadsheet.

One effective trick that has alleviated some of the irritation, which I found out on another website:
If you answer, "Hello" just one time and then stay silent, the caller hangs up, perhaps thinking that they have reached an answering machine. This works, since, as I have been writing this post, another phone number, 617-861-6398 just hung up on me seconds ago - apparently THAT number is a scam from someone claiming to be with Wells Fargo.

Just got a call from this number and when I didn't answer, they called from this number 1-800-699-6170.  I save these phone numbers in my phone book as scammer's and when ever they call I answer the phone by saying "911 what is your emergency"  they pause and say what.  I then say "911 emergency what is your emergency" and they tell me they have a wrong number.  It has slowed some of the calls down.  It at least stops them from calling me all day long....

These people have called and called and called me for the last year. The last time they called I answered and started pushing the number keys so all they hear is annoying beeping. They haven't called me in two weeks.

p.s. They will also call and try to convince you that you're being investigated for purchasing illegal medication via the internet and they need you to wire money to them for a fine. It's fun to toy with them and get in their heads. They really think we are all stupid. Obviously this has worked on someone or they wouldn't keep attempting it.

Selling drugs. Said I had a refill even though I don't take anything. I asked for the name of the doctor that wrote the original script and they kept repeating that they just had the refills and didn't know the name of the doctor. WTF? Wouldn't that info be on the bottle? I told them I don't have prescriptions outstanding so I couldn't possibly have any refills. They hung up.
