This company is a rip off and a fraud. They send you information for all of these vacations take your money and then numbers are disconnected and take off with your hard earned money. You say they are legit, well provide me with a phone number that isn't disconnected and something that can be verified then. Because I have now got the attorney general, internet trade commission, BBB, as well as a few other agencies now involved. This is fraud and you people are con artists. What a joke. I bet there is no response to this because you have nothing to say for yourselves besides lies after lies. People try to find deals to make vacations possible with larger families and you take advantage of that. Well unfortunately you will be paying out way more in the end if I don't get a resolution ASAP!

I purchased the vacation deal and it is not a scam. it is a real promotional package for a very discounted price. you would be crazy not to take advantage of the offer if you could afford it and like to travel. The resorts taxes are not outrageous and many people probably spend that in a restaurant with family or at the bar with friends. i got so many perks the taxes and checkout fees could not begin to be a problem. There are no blackout dates if you book in advance and if you were scammed and paid by credit card visa would refund your money. What do you have to lose?

The harm is that any time you give your personal information to a company that is not legitimate, you are facing the prospect of identity theft.

I hope this turns out well for you, and please do keep us posted.

I bought into it. I've been called by this company several times over the last year and have always told them I couldn't do it, for different reasons. Today they caught me at a good time of day so I had time to talk things through with them. I was on the phone for over an hour and I really felt like they were taking time to answer all my doubts and questions and not just trying to get my cash. When they first offered me the florida/bahama deal a few months ago it was for $700 for 4 people. Today when they called it was $298, a much more reasonable deal. But I told them first I wasn't interested or that I wouldn't make any decisions without talking to my husband. I talked with Richard Lilly for quite a while after he had read me the scripts and he ended up taking the package down to $198 plus buy one, get one airfare. Now even if this does turn out to be a scam, what's the damage? I call the credit card company and get my $200 back and I've learned not to mess with them. But what if it's legit? Then I got one heck of a deal! I told them several times that it sounded to good to be true and we talked through it. They discussed thoroughly all the associated fees and I read the fine print on their website. At the beginning of the phone call it was quite a pitch and I can see where its assumed to be a scam. However once we got past all that I felt comfortable enough to go through with it. I imagine, as with most things, i will incur costs that I hadn't prepared for. So be it. It will still be thousands cheaper any other vacation I would've planned. I've sat through timeshare sales before and I can do it again, it's not going to ruin a vacation to give up 90 min. They feed you breakfast while you're there anyway.
So we will see. I only found a few posts of people that have had success with this, and it's hard to know if they are real customers or eager managers trying to promote a fraud. I hope to enlighten everyones questions about Tropical Vacations with my own experience. In 10-14 days I should receive a package with all the registration info. I've already got a confirmation email and a link to register for the airline discount. I hope that all goes well, otherwise I will be greatly disappointed. Either way I will keep you posted!

I also got a call for a Harold Graham. There was quite a bit of talking on his part, hitting on many of the same points discussed above, "I'm one of 5,000 selected" etc. I thought at first he said I won something and then the language changed and he was saying I needed to register for something. After questioning this I was on the phone with some other guy who also talked a lot. I kept asking if the point of all this is to get my credit card and finally that's what came out of it. I honestly do not understand this scam if it is a scam. You can always go through your credit card to stop a payment. I don't get this one - why so much effort on their part when if would be so easy for anyone to stop payment on their credit card later? There might actually be a vacation package as far as I know but I could never get past their awful business model even if it was real. I really have to give a credit card now? Things that are legit usually don't have such a hard sell. But again, if it is a scam I don't understand the point of it since it's so easy to stop a payment on a credit card.

Told I was selected out of 5000 contestants to win an unbelieveable vacation to Orlando, Cocoa Beach and Fort Lauderdale and a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas. And this is a one shot offer for two for $398 each for two and two more get to go free.  But I must pay now, or no deal.

Wadda scam.  Don't fall for it.  I just hung up.  Phone call from 409 428 1500, which is a hospital in Orlando FL.  How can they say this is legit when they hijack a legimate number as their own?

At least you can appreciate the fact that someone took their time to speak with you and calling your name to attention is to make sure you are getting all the details. If it sounded so good and your only complaint is that you have no money how is that our fault? Some people look for any excuse to post negative comments and it looks as if you are one of the lucky ones who obviously has absolutely nothing but time on their hands to sit and complain all day. Anyway.... Its a damn shame that honest hard working people are getting bashed for simply doing their jobs the right way and the company is being bashed for giving an offer that (sounds too good to be true?)... Wow what criminals we are... Good luck Val

First of all, Jonny does not run the company nor does he do anything of that sort. ITS A SHAME WHEN DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEES HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR TIME OTHER THAN BAD MOUTH OUR COMPANY BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY WE STILL HAVE JOBS AND THEY DONT!... Anyway the company runs a very legitimate program and if a customer pays full attention and absorbs all the details we tell them up front they will be very happy with the package. I myself handle most aspects of the office and have done so for many years. I know the ins and outs of the business itself and it is a great package. If you don't get caught up in the B.S. and just allow yourself to make an informed decision based on your own instincts not anyone elses comments (including my own) you will find yourself in a much better position. Thank you...

I saw the name Harold Graham and I laughed. I actually just was working with him. I was there a week because it was only based on commission. Thing is though guys, they don't tell you that you've won the vacation; you really need to listen to the pitch. They tell you that you've won a "vacation offer." The offer is an 80% discounted vacation to select individuals. They offer 5 vacations with $500 Orlando fun-pack, theme tickets and discount coupons, as well as a Bahamas Cruise and a bonus destination for $698 total. You pay for the first 2, the other 2 are free. I worked there and I couldn't get that deal for my family and I would love to be able to take them to Disney. Anyone in my opinion is crazy to not take an offer like that and they will (usually do) lower the total package of the vacation as well as add airfare perks. You cannot take vacations like that for under $700....just saying. Yes, they talk for forever because it is a scripted pitch, but it is well worth your time if you like to travel and wish to go to any of these destinations.

What a waste of 15 minutes of my life. He wouldn't shut up and I stopped listening for 2 seconds and he was all like "Val, Val you there?". It sounded pretty good, until he said 10 minutes in that he needed my credit card info RIGHT THEN. So then I said I didn't have it. And he questioned and pushed for another 5 minutes until I finally said, I have to pass good luck. I'm so tired of getting calls from the entire wedding industry. And no I don't have a spare $700 sitting around, I'm trying to pay for a wedding.

Yep me down under in Australia... "Oh we wouldn't be calling you long distance if it was fake"... 10 minutes laterafter a very convincing story, and let me pass you on to registration, a guy comes on, a real a**, oh yeh a small payment to cover costs, they even took the liberty of telling me a Aussie dollar exchange rate.  they are searching further a-field now.  Must do O.K. out of it I suppose.
Ha I liked the part, " just confirm credit card details with us and bank clearance",and " you don't have the card on you, that's O.K. I get paid by the hour, I will wait here..", Ha Ha Ha, good one crooks!

They are supposed to call back and when they do i intend on answering with this call may be recorded or monitored for quality purposes just so i can record everything the say on my phone so if they give me fraudulent information

Just got a call from Tropical Getaways, told me I won.    His name was Harold Graham.  As he was talking and asking me how I would like this or that, I googled Tropical Getaways and found all of you and your posts.  Most of your posts were word for word!  Thanks so much for posting.... I knew it sounded way to fishy!  I won prizes before but it's always been straight forward and direct.  A definite scam!  I just hope no one else falls for it!

I didn't get a call from them but did receive many an email from Sue Madden and Travel Getaways, Inc.

Seems they bought a mailing list from someone with message export fields as the personal info they put in there is mixed up with someone elses.

And, the address they list is an old address that I moved from back in 1998.

Scammers all the way who are also too cheap to get an updated list.
