I was worry for a second when I saw a charge on my checking account with this number and "Government Services". After analyzing what I did the day before, the charges were from getting a birth certificate on the Bell County Texas district clerk. So, the charges are legit.

Whoo! Thanks! Forgot all about my car registration last week! That was my $67 on my bank statement.
Aeronwyn 2014-04-24 15:20:58 Unknown
956-682-3466 is the number for Hamer Enterprises. Apparently they're a processor for all kinds of government payments made by credit card. Comments before me have include property taxes, water bills, etc. In my case, it was car registration. Since many government payments are tax deductible, seems weird that they only list it as "Government Payments," but that's what they do.

We just got the charge on our account. They are a 3rd party biller that businesses use. The amount was for our water/sewer bill. The extra charge is a service feel.

i received this same "Government Payment" on my card. i recently went to the court house to get a copy of my Birth Certificate and thats how it was charged.

This charge showed up on my bank statement. It's NOT a scam - it's what I paid to renew my car registration in Travis County (Austin, TX).

A $177 charge for real estate taxes on my property at Lago Vista TX showed up on my MasterCard bill as:
?Dec 24, 2013 GOVERNMENT PAYMENTS 9566823466 TX Cable Satellite Services.?
This is obviously a problem that has not been fixed.

Its legit but mistakes can be made just call them and give them your name, the amount debited and the post date.
Karen 2013-07-14 20:27:27 Unknown
I wasn't sure either until after I read these posts. Glad I didn't call my bank and cause a stink, because I totally forgot about payment for a vehicle title transfer with Travis County, TX. Whew....thought someone was abusing my debit card!

Why is Tony replying to everybody is working for or with them. ??????

It's legitimate, folks. Mine was for vehicle registration.
They really ought to give a heads up about what the charge will look like on our bank statement though. I wonder how many hundreds of charges have been disputed because it's so unclear. The "computer software" part really threw me off.

I have a charge with the same name and number. However, after rreading on of the other notes, I realize it was from a title company where I paid for my renewal car tags. That was the cost, including extra fees for not paying it at county clerks office. So, if you have bought your car tags somewhere else, then this is how it shows on your bank statement. I did this about a week to ten days ago.

rcr 2013-03-02 19:43:00 Unknown
This is a payment for a ticket.
Jessica 2013-02-07 21:59:03 Unknown
This is the same transportation company that processed my payment for my license renewal. Not a scam just processed through a difference agency (some computer software) which might not have anything to do with it. Always good to be concerned and on top of your transactions though.

This company processes about 90% of Texas counties payments through credit and debit cards. They process county and state payments including tickets, water payments, car registrations, and many more. Those saying this is a scam and have issued chargebacks can be charged with fraud for reversing a legitimate payment. In cases of payments for tickets, if reversed can cause a bench warrant to be issued for you for non-payment of the fine. Then in several counties such as Bell, Travis, Harris, ect will then require a certified check for ALL future payments.

It's for car registration. It's confusing at first. I thought it was a scam.
Gonzo 2012-09-01 00:31:49 Unknown
this company processed my property tax payment in Texas.
Dee 2012-08-09 21:11:52 Unknown
I just called because I saw this as well and it was a vehicle registration.
James Cooney 2012-07-03 20:37:53 Unknown
I did not approve this charge to my credit card
Joe 2012-06-05 21:29:23 Unknown
It was suspicious to me as well however now I realized that it was a charge from renewing my vehicle registration sticker. No harm done. However, I did receive a call from an "Unknown Number" which claimed to be my bank. They said that they think my card information had been "compromised" and they canceled my card and are sending me a new one. I honestly don't think there was any need for this, however.

After a month, when I went to go over my statement I noticed it said Government payment 956 682 3466...I was upset! I went over all my receipts and could not find what I had paid for that amount. After an hour I remebered it was a citation I paid in Los Fresnos...the funny thing was that I only remebered that I paid $198 only, but I totaly forgot they charged a fee of $6 for the transaction. thank god i saved my reciept where it shows the fees, if I wouldn't have it, believe me, I will not remeber...lol
msus 2012-03-24 00:00:40 Unknown
Thanks for your insightful message/reply....that's exactly my thought. I Googled the phone # and called it and found out it was for my water/utility bill payment done with my bank card.
msus 2012-03-23 23:58:45 Unknown
it is for utility payments....maybe for city services, if you've paid by phone....there is usually a $2.75 service charge added to the total payment you're making.
Edith Reyes 2012-03-18 01:18:36 Unknown
Unauthorized payment for government services w/o permission. this company or person when in my account and took a payment w/o permission shame on them.....
manny216 2012-02-21 15:05:41 Unknown
I called and did speak to someone and I was told it was a payment I made with my credit card to pay for the renewal of my vehicle's license plates which I had done...
thankful 2012-02-01 21:36:43 Unknown
Yes thanks it did... I got the same charge and it was for the tags to my truck... Weird it should have said Tax Office instead of government payment....
Brad 2011-10-11 12:28:29 Unknown
My wife paid a speeding ticket to Travis County Texas. It came out as Government Payments on our bank statement..same phone number as here. I was legit.
