The phone rang in the middle of the night and woke me up... it was 11 PM on 6/14/08. The recording said something about unusual activity on my account but did not say which account. I assume it's fraud. Caller ID listed 999 999 9999 as the phone number but the call back number on the recording was 956-772-4497.

It appears to be a SCAM claiming that your account has been subject to bank fraud.

I've been getting these scam attempts daily. Some foolish company sold the scammers an autodialer.

I receeived the same call at 10:36 pm on Sunday evening. Scared us to tdeath our phone ringing that late at night. Couldn't make out the message that well, but stated that there was in issue with an account. first # they gave was like 90056700724497, and then they repeated as being 956.772.4497. Tried calling back this morning, and it was continually busy.

We got that "account suspended" recorded message also, at 10:00 p.m. Saturday night, also mentioned an unfamiliar bank name, and now I notice we also had received many many 999-999-9999 calls this week. Somebody call the FCC!

This is a scam. It's phishing via telephone going on all over the country. Do not call the number and do not go to any websites. Your card number has not been compromised - especially if you don't have an account with the institution named in the call. Do not give out any information. If you have caller ID, report the phone number to the FCC.

I also received a call 9:30 PM June 14,2008. Only part of message recorded. Started with "account suspended due to unsual activity." BTW when I DID have acredit card stolen a few years ago, a real live person called.

Call came in at 9:15 pm on Sunday June 15th 2008. Stated my S & T bank account was suspended due to suspicious activity. This was an odd call. Suspected Fraud. Was an automated call. Gave a number to call back, was not an 800 number.

Received a automated call Sunday night at 9:35 PM on 6-15-08 saying our account was suspended for unusual activity. I was to call this number back. It sounded like fraud to me. I put the number into the googled the number and found this site.

Got the same call at about 8:45pm on June 14, 2008. Called the 800 number on the web page and left a meesage. I also do not have an account with them and I think it is a scam of some type.

Call received at 10:51 pm, Saturday, June 14, 2008. Automated voice claimed my American National Bank of Texas card was suspended due to suspicious activity. Then left the callback number of 956-772-4497, but also repeated it as nine-fifty-six, seven-seventy-two, forty-four, ninety-seven. This call came after a call at 9:51 pm which said my American National Bank of Texas card had been suspended. We do not have any credit cards with that bank. I've contacted their customer service department and expect a reply on Monday.
