I got the same message, same number 4828 today too

Wachovia and T-Mobile said this is a scam. I don't have a "card" with Wachovia anyway! DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER!

I got same message a few minutes ago. I think this is a scamster. Don't call this number, don't tell any information about you to them.

damn bastards, I got the same text at 7:56PM EST.
what can't our fine government find these guys. They have a phone number.

I got that same text Jan 25, 2010 at 7:39:15pm. EST Funny thing I used to have a card with 4828*** so I almost called them. What stopped me was that the card was not with Wachovia. My wife then got the same text a few mins ago so I decided to check if my tmobile pymnt went through. Then I checked online to see if it is a scam...and voila!!!! funny that we all have the same card from Wachovia, isn't it!

Same as all of you but I find it interesting that a lot of us have Wachovia accounts that start with those 4 digits.... smells suspicious. If we all report to our carriers and to Wachovia then maybe someone will find them. We all seemed to have received this message today January 25th around the very same time. Hhhhmmm....

got the same call at8.25pm 1/25/10 spoke tp tmobile they said wont be charge for text message ill wait till next bill to see

Got a call at 11.25pm Jan-25-2010to both mobiles of mine and my wife's mobile. I dont have a wachovia card itself.

I got this as a text message on January 25 too, sometime after 9 p.m.  Same Wachovia card number, same call back phone number. And I am in New Jersey too.
Checked here first. Glad I did.

I got this exact message. Called Wachovia and they said it's a scam and they are working on it. all Wachovia cards start with 4828. Last week I was contacted by some people that had all my info on a hospital bill I have been paying on. So I gave them my card numbers to make the payment. Then at the end of the call the woman said the payment would be coming out in three days and that wasn't how if happened before. I googled the number and it came up a medical billing scam. So I called and canceled my card. Wachovia said it sounded like a scam then. Do you know the same woman called me the other day saying my card was declined. I told her I know. Then I informed her I knew they were scammers and she just replied no we're not. I replied Ok then whatever and waited. She never said anything a real collections person would say and then she just hung up. I wish people would just get real jobs.

I received  a text msg from tomomail@tmomail.net yesterday at 9:52pm Eastern. It read  Wachovia 4828 card is temporarily locked.  Call at 9704257144. I immediately knew it was a scam. I called Wachovia just to verify AND I called TMobile to file a complaint. I tried calling the # and it's now disconnected. I hope no one got caught by this scamster and that his/her feet rot and fall off. This sickens me that ppl would try to swindle ppl out of their hard earned money.

actually the text was from 3856 and told me to call that other number!

I got a text from 804-318-3671  saying my wachovia 4828xx card is temporarily locked. Since I dont have a wachovia card i was a bit confused, but still scared...thought my identity was stolen! I called the number and it was a law firm!

I called. Oops. It was busy. Whats going to happen should i expect more calls now or can the charge me for calling???

I just got the same exact text message and I use T-Mobile also. Apparently their "blacklist" isn't stopping the text message to others.

I got the same message on my cell phone, then the same text two hours later on my daughter's phone. I sent a text back saying "nice try, a**hole"

Even I got the same text message and in the NBC news this morning they were showing this scam. Looks like it is spreading like Swine flu :-)

I love google and this site since we can report and share these fraudulent numbers.

Received the same msg from 3730 card 4828xxx about 24 hrs ago.

Got the same message everyone else is getting DO NOT call the number.  If you are in doubt, call your bank.

This cannot be by far legit. This is a form of social engineering to trick Wachovia bankers into calling and submitting personal bank information. Do NOT follow the instructions. You may want to contact T-Mobile but I doubt there will be any recourse.

What is crazy, I also have t-mobile so maybe this scam did originate via them, I will be contacting tmobile right away!

I got the EXACT SAME TEXT message on Jan 25 after 9 p.m.  now the text id comes in as tmomail@tmomail.net. this telephone number is the call back number now. This is a great service.
