I just got a gall from "Officer John Adams". He was not American at all. He said he has a case against me and if I do not pay, he will make sure I lose my job. I told him I will contact my lawyer and local police. He then called me a stupid b***h and he will f***ing kill me. he keeps calling my work number over and over. Annoying. I dare him. I am reporting him.

These people are scam artists.  Do not fall for their tricks!  Over the past year, I have received calls from them five different times (all appear to be different numbers across the US, but they are actually coming from overseas).  It is always someone with a foreign accent, but they usually have a surprisingly American name.  They say that you have an outstanding payday loan of some sort but yet they can’t tell you the company name.  Ask them to provide proof of the so-called debt.  I have been told that I will receive it within 24 hours, no proof arrives.  If it is legit, they would be able to provide you with this information.  They will tell you that if you do not cooperate, they will send someone to your place of business within a few hours to have you arrested.  This will not happen.  Do not worry!  They say that they have an attorney going to court the next day with a judgment against you.  They do not.  Do not worry!

They have the last four digits of my SSN and the name of my bank, which I do not know how they got, but they use it to scare you.  I monitor my credit report, and nothing has been done with that information.  I have spoken to the Attorney General’s office in my state a couple of different times, and they are familiar with this scam and have basically told me that they can’t do anything about it because these people are overseas and they change their phone numbers so quickly and can’t be traced.  They suggested that I tell them they have been reported to the authorities and then hang up.  My preference has been to mess with them and I have been successful at getting them to hang up on me ;)

One day I spoke with some yahoo from one of these scammers and he actually told me he was in Pakistan.  Must have been a newbie.  Everyone else tells me they are from New York or California, etc.  What I have found to work the best to get rid of them, is get them frustrated.  Don’t let them frustrate you.  Ask them for their law firm name, ask them for their mailing address, ask them for the proof of the debt, ASK THEM QUESTIONS.  Any information they are giving you is bogus, but they aren’t expecting you to be questioning them, they are expecting you to freak out and give them money. The last person I spoke with at this number, I told him right away that the phone call was being recorded for my state’s Attorney General’s office because they were under investigation.  At first he said that was no problem, he didn’t care, and then after I asked him a couple of more questions, and mentioned that he was in Pakistan, he seemed flustered and hung up on me.  I called the number back right away, and it was “busy”.  

PLEASE DON’T LET THESE PEOPLE GET TO YOU!  THEY ARE FRAUDS!!!  It takes a few months for someone to call again with the same story trying to get money, but I just go through the game again, and then it seems to happen again a few months later with the call coming from a different phone number and a different “law firm”.  There doesn’t seem to be anything I can do to make them go away for good except just go through the motions, and then they leave me alone for a few months.  They do not care if you are on a “do not call list”, so don’t even try that one.  They are as bogus as it gets, so that probably just makes them laugh.

I too received a call from this number so I went back and researched all the complaints against this number.  I would love to sue these idiots if I thought it would help stop the harrasment!

okay so i get a call from Officer Rick Thompson with an Indian Accent. Okay i don't know about yall but i have never heard of an indian native with the name Rick Thompson. He called my job and was like you have a case against you and you need to act on it, so i said i can not have personal calls at work and i hung up, well he called back and i answered and i told him don't be calling me on my job and he rudely intterupted me by saying i will not call your job anymore if you tell me what time you be calling me back lololol so i said ok i will call you at 5, well when i call his rump today at 5 he will be getting an earful of what i have to say and if he hangs up i will keep calling back and let them see how it feels to get harrased. You messed with the WRONG women now!!!!!!!!!! Game on........

After I posted this, I had called my local police dept and filed a complaint against them. Doubtful anything will happen, but at least I got my voice out. If the "officer" calles again, I can tell him that I followed thru on my threat to report him to the police and he's a joke because he can't follow thru on his threats. I have also sent a complaint with Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx.

Wow!! I'm taking back to see all the people that they call.  I answer there calls then hang up on them!!

I also just received a call from this person with an extremely accent that I could not understand much of what he was saying.  This seems to happen at the end of the month and I am so tired of it. My lawyer says to keep sending them to his office but as of yet of course they won't.  Wish they would just go away.......

I just wrote a post under the impression that Krohn & Moss could help out then i talked to a gentlemen that informed he couldnt because of so called Federal Officer's being Frauds! So, if you have any advice on a lawyer that can help let me know.

Hey i dont know about you guys but these people need to be stopped along with them using profanity to my mother they illegally gave out my social to her and my date of birth and are impersonating federal official's so i am filing a class action lawsuit if anyone is interested in legal justice that will hit their pocket book and make them realize they cant treat people like that Period!

These people are harrassing me at work, saying I owe some sort of internet payday loan, which I don't. Some pakistani sounding guy named "Robin Wilson" said I was being sued. I told him to send me something in writing. His response was he will call my manager at work and have me fired.

how do I get these people to stop calling me??

I also received this same voicemail. He had a VERY thick foreign accent. He said that I was under investigation for fraud. When I questioned him, he kept cutting me off. They threatened that they were going to be taking me to court and just wanted to let me know as a courtesy. They said they would be mailing me documentation regarding the date of the courtdate in the next couple days. He knew my full address, my full social, and my employer!!! I don't know if I should contact the cops or not???

Foreign male making harassing phone calls to my job site.  At the end of the message it said "if I don't hear from you all I can do is wish you the best of luck as the situation unfolds upon you." The foreigner sounded as if he was half awake/half asleep. Won't be calling this person back!!!! FRAUD

i got a call a few minutes ago with the same india accent man claiming to be office paul harris and I just hang up why feed into idiots. Cash Advance is behind it all.

yeah this number is contacting me saying the same as the other writers and i had cursed him out and said i will contact the real law about u harassing me and saying your an law officer investigating a case against me but didnt have any information had to ask another person who the hell does that if ur already calling u should have all the details in front of you so in my case i blocked his number from my call visuals and he will continue to do what he chooses cause hes FRAUD

I am getting the same calls.  A male with foreign accent called my cell phone & work phone, left a message saying that he is calling from the Department of Law Services and that I am under some kind of investigation.  I am not calling him back.  Glad I am not the only one here who is receiving these bogus phone calls.
