During my search for a job I have submitted my resume with my name, address, phone, email and I am getting weird call sometimes.
I got a call from ILLINOIS 217-679-2292 to notified I was awarded $7000 grant from government, I received other phone number to claim grant by calling 205-419-8848 and request to talk to Max Williams, according to him in order to get the $7000 grant from government there is a processing fee of $310, so this is a big scam, be aware.

I also received a call from women that could not speak very good English. I knew right away it was a scam so I had the lady repeat herself several times a phrase at a time.  I played along with her for several minutes and I repeated what she tried to explain: I was selected to receive several thousands of dollars of grant money, I never really understood the amount she was trying to say, but never the less I had her repeat it over and over and over again.  She told me that I would never have to pay back this grant from the government, so I asked, "What Government?" she replied the U.S I asked her was she sure and then I burst her bubble I replied that if the U.S government was to give me a grant, they would not have an unspeaking English middle eastern woman call me and tell me this and then ask me to verify my personal information. She was upset that I had waste her time and she hung up the phone.  970-776-9659   SCAM!!!!!!!

A woman with a thick accent called, saying she was from a U.S. government "grants department" and I had been chosen to receive $7,000. I confirmed my address knowing she had it anyway. Then I said I wanted it in cash, through the mail. He gave me another number to call to confirm all this. I called and they told me to call back in 5 minutes.  That "confirmation" phone number was 205-419-8848. I called about and asked for "Max Williams." I gave him the conf # and he told me I would have to go to Wester Union with $310 cash, call him when I got there, and then he would give me the instructions on what to do next. I smell a scam.

I was wondering this also. I kinda believed it at first due to them saying they are working for the government. I asked several times. normally if it sounds too good to be true.... it is.

My wife received this call to a cell phone we use. The story was the same. Something about $7000 and the United States Government Defense Dept. My wife refused to give the information requested or "confirm" anything. When she asked for the number he could be reached at and his supervisor the name Nancy was given but nothing more.

Same deal with Winning money, confirmed address and gave me a confirmation number to call 205 419 8030 and said the person i need to talk to is Edward and I need to give my confirmation for my "won" money to the Edward person and then it'll be released. Hmmm... I called it and kept ringing with no answer, will try again shortly to see what happens :).

Can we just tell the police??? this bothers me A LOT! I don't think they can call saying they are the government...

I recieved the same call twice now, once from a woman with an accent and this time from a man.  I already receive grants for school, so I just hung up on them.

Same thing as the others -- informing of a grant for my spouse.  I told him we were on the no call and to not call back or I would report him to federal authorities. He said he would call back every minute all day (which he has not done).  The same name on Caller ID:  Thomas Englart.  Calling the number back, it's a disconnected listing.  FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD.  I hope they suffer a transmission failure at 3 am in the worst part of town, that they get gang raped in jail, and that their dog dies.

just received a message from this number and the caller had my name and told me I just got accepted to get 7000.00 in US grant that I did not have to pay back and I just told them sorry not interested and hung up because the guy did not sound american and 970 area code does not sound right to me.

Got a call from this number, answered it only to hear noises that were similair to the old dial-up internet connection.  Not sure what it was, but always weirds me out to get these kinds of calls.

It's a scam, supposedly a $7000 US govt grant..  They want me to send $310 by Western Union to Kathmandu, Nepal..  The name of the gentleman was Mike Parker (with an Indian Accent) .   I kept them on the line for over an hour while they tried to sort out a fake MTCN I gave them.  Ir was hugely entertaining.  In the end I accused them of stealing my "Deposit" and yelled atthem until they hung up..

I got a call from this number today. when I started to tell him that I didn't sign up for anything I didn't want to have anything to do with this I wanted off the list he just kept talking so I got loud with him repeating myself and finally he started yelling back at me "F@&K YOU" in his thick accent.  haha. I'm sure they got my name from when they have tried to call me before and got my voicemail.

I got a call from them yesterday and they expected me to give away my credit card or bank information. I kept telling them to send me a check and finally the guy gave in and told me to call his manager. When I called back the manger, he told me to go to western union as my money is waiting there for me and call him when I get there. He also told me that I have to pay bank fees of $250 and they will refund it to me. I was wondering how you would report these calls?

keep getting similar calls from various numbers, but always a Middle Eastern accent. The male always asks for Dallian or Darian Nimmens and today when I told him he had a wrong number he said " very sorry. what is your name?" I told him he was crazy to think I was going to give him my name or any name for that matter. When told to not call this number any more, he again asked what was my name. I told him I knew about these calls, that they are a scam and I was reporting him to the authorities ( for what good that will do) Anyone out there getting similar calls who's number is a fairly new listing? perhaps through your cable co?

So much for being on a do not call list, wonder if anyone ever looks into these types of scams.  When I said to give me the number and I would turn it in to the fraud investigation department with the FBI (Do they even have that?) they hung up on me.  I guess I won't be getting my 7000 dollars. lol

Why am I getting type of calls "all" the time?

I got 4 missed calls from this number on my cell and 1 voicemail was left that was 1 1/2 of white noise. I have no idea what is going on.

They called me today-could barely understand the foreign accent and they tried to tell me i was being granted $7000, but just needed to confirm my name.  YEah right.  I had to yell at him to take me off their call list.  Next time, I will make sure they are listening very closely and then blow a whistle into the phone with all i've got.

Sounds like the same bunch of losers that have been calling and threatening to have me arrested if I don't immediately have my attorney call their attorney.  Always a heavy foreign accent, always very noisy in the background and totally a scam.  I keep telling them to send the police, I will be waiting for them.  HA HA

Just received a call from this number too, and she said I had to contact her manager right away to claim my money and to give him my approval code which she gave me and kept repeating that I needed to call the number she gave me "RIGHT AWAY" that her manager was available as we speak. Um NEGATIVE I'm not calling anywhere! The number she called from is (970)776-9659 and told me to call (205)419-8030.

we got the same call yesterday and they said we could get the grant if we send them 305.00 and we would get 7305.00 after we send it. I got on the computer right away and looked up both numbers and then called the 9707769659 number and it was disconnected so this is a scam

They called me saying they were from the government I couldn't hear clear and when I asked what he had said he talked rude so I clicked like what the f%#k u going to call me and be rude

I just got this same call and last time it was from a different number. I told them that if the government was giving me money it would be from grants I applied for and they would have my info of what to do with the money. They actually asked me what grants I applied for and I then informed them that I am reporting this number for I know it is a scam and if they call my number again I will find a way to pursue charges as my number is on the "do not call" list. She disconnected really quick.

someone called from this number claiming they are from the U.S governments grants department and I was just granted 7,000. I knew it was a scam immediately because she had an accent and read from a script and it was extremely noisy in the back ground. I said" send me the check", she said they had several complaints from customers that complained about money sent through the mail and would need my bank information or credit card information. RIGGHHT BIOTCH! She got snooty with me when i said i would not confirm my address.
