This telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group, a public utility operated in part by F Antone Accuardi of Portland Oregon.  He uses a foreign "shell" company to enter into revenue sharing agreements with illicit telemarketers.  This is a likely violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

my caller was going to give me $1000 but I had to give him credit card info which I refused to do so he said well I cannot give you $1000. I ended the call.

Called me too, today is April 12, 2012.   Where is my flying car and a telephone system that tracks these guys down and sends them to a penal colony on Mars.   I figured if I made to the 21st century, we'd have some worthwhile technology.

I also got a call from this number on Friday. As it's not my region code, and I didn't know the number, I didn't answer it.

3 calls by machine - alleged polling. B. S.  after first call I block.

I to got a call from this number but it was at 3 am and I was asleep so I didn't answer it.

No one was there when I answered.  This came into my cell phone.............I wonder how they got the number.

Received this call today, no message left. I called back and initally received a fast busy signal.  I finally got through and received a message indicating I was being contacted about a survey and the survey time expired.  It was maybe 5 minutes after the intial call.  I did press one like other people to indicate I would like my number removed off the list, however it seems as though I have recieved a call like this before and am obviously receiving a call again.  Also my phone identified that the call came from Beaverton, Oregon.  My boyfriend received a call from 971-220-9173 and did not answer today.  This one came from Gresham, Oregon. I'm sure this was a similar thing.

Yeah, I got one, too.  Answered, nobody there.  Moved the number to the Do Not Ring folder.

Political poll - A "political" telemarketer who is clearly in violation of the federal (and Louisiana state) do not call list. Sounded more like a scam than a survey...........

so im sitting at my desk and the wife says whos calling you and i say i dont know its from beaverton OR, and i dont know the number. not 10 min. later she gets a call from the same number and she answered it, she does have family from the area bey we have those numbers, its a call for a political survey. yeah this is why i dont answer the phone unless i know who it is. sigh, i might miss a real phone call

971-217-9562  Just called.  It's recording. I hung up and am disappointed because I should be on a "no-call" list.

political scamming nonsense

Good idea, I will do the same.

Same complaint.  Brief / fake line about a political survey and then the scam about the cruise kicks in.  This is a great web site, but I'd love to see it expanded to include some way that we could send in donations of $5 or $10 to have operators hired to track down and take out telemarketers.  Add big bonus pay for telemarketer offices that end up gutted with cattle gun punch holes in all their office hardware.
