Got call from same number.at 6 am. Did not answer. Got another call today.

This lady could barely speak English. She asked if I was interested in going to college. I told her I could barely understand her- I had three degrees and am 66 years old and told her to f**k off and don't call me again.

These calls are coming from call centers in Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false)
numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in
this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.

It may depend on how long you had your number, cause its possible whoever had the number before you is the person that owes the debt.
I have had this experience with numbers I have had in the past. Some how I managed to get calls for all sorts of people I never heard of. One of best was a company called Xtreme  Novelties (with a name like that it makes you wonder what they sell.

The point is that, if they are looking Orville Jellybelly, you may not be able to end these calls. If my guess is right, they assume they are calling the right number and the person they are speaking with is avoiding them.

Received all call today.  Caller ID show TECLO.  No message left.

you will never get them to stop calling,so make a game out of it by just picking up the phone and hanging up.I actually enjoy doing this, knowing their time has been taken up and they had to pay for the call.

We have been contacted by this phone number at least 10 times over the last two weeks.  We usually get hang-ups or they go into a sales pitch.  
On two occassions I told them to put me on their "Do Not Call List".  Both times they hung up on me.

Caller ID said TECLO.  Didn't bother to answer and they didn't leave a message.  ATT U-Verse allows you to block 20 numbers.  I could use at least another 20.

They are a Bill Collection Agency.   Probably RPM, Receivables Performance Management located in Portland Oregon.  Bill Collectors route their phone calls through router numbers to hide their true identity while trying to get you to answer the phone to validate their number they are calling.

Your wasting your time thinking the government will do anything to enforce the no call law.  I've reported I don't know how many numbers and they just keep calling.  Politicians too who made themselves exempt from the law

I pressed Opt 1, and was asked if I wanted to lower my cc interest rates--I said "no"--that I pressed this option to speak with a live person to get removed from the call list--and emphasized I was on the National Do Not Call list--that said, the telemarketer immediately hung up.  

Yes, I blocked this number.  How do we catch these rude dudes?

If they have your phone number, what are the chances they have your name and address? I'd love to "play along" on one of these calls and keep them on the line for as long as possible. Then I'd tell them they''d just been pranked.

I don't know how they got my unlisted number.  They call at all hours and then don't say anything.  I think they're checking to see if it's a valid number and to see if somebody is home.

971-220-1002 called July 19, 2012 .... I have a Digitone Call Blocker unit and had gotten so many
telemarketer calls in the past from various numbers in area code 971, that I had previously programmed the unit to block any calls from that area code ...... so, it rang once, caller ID:  "971-220-1002 TECLO", and my call blocker hung up the line after the first ring. .... just like it does now for any caller from area code 971

(I've also blocked the entire area codes 206, 360, 407, 425, and 503 .... which are all just as bad as area code 971.)   Many, many telemarketers and "surveys" !   Now, about 2 or 3 times per day, our phone rings just once then stops.  I just grin, knowing our call-blocking device intercepted and hung up on another one of them.  Some of these guys typically have dozens of numbers, so blocking each new number that called was frustrating ..... hence, the area code blocking solution.

I have received many, calls, over a dozen, from this number. when i spoke to rep to request being taken off list, he immediately hung up on me.
