My new tactic is pressing whatever number I need to talk to these people.
I try and find as much as I can about the company. Then I harass them.
Do not call list and the FTC is a big JOKE. IT DOES NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not one thing. They are useless.
I use to file a complaint every time I received a call.
When the calls kept coming, I finally I realizes all the complaints I file are worthless.

This telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group.  They are a public utility who's business involves facilitating illegal telemarketing calls in violation of 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

I am on a National Do Not Call list.  You have called an average of 6 calls per day.  We press "9" and nothing has happened.  I try to call the number and it says it is disconnected.

Immediately remove my number from your computer dialing system.  I am not interested in any more of your disruptive calls, nor would I purchase from such a disreputable company that has a phone system designed only for interruptions.

DO NOT CALL MY NUMBER AGAIN!

Keep getting calls from this number plus various other 971 Gresham, OR numbers.  And we too are on the DNC list but of course when you're some two bit con artist you don't care.  Each time they leave a cryptic message to get you to give them personal info...

I have been on the DNC list for years. Nothing changed. Still get calls from every scam artist and
telemarkets in the country.. The DNC is a Joke. For a while I just looked at the caller I.D, picked up the phone,then put it down and walked away. Lately I answer the phone and blow a whistle into the phone as loud I can then hang up. The calls have decreased quite a bit but still get more than I want.

Since my son signed our phone numbers on DNC list , believe it or not that is when calls from 800 numbers increased on our private cells and home numbers. I even received unwanted marketing texts from my private cell phone. It seems like big jokes to me ' The Do Not Call '. I am planning to cancel all phones services all together this year because we consumers are not protected at all by anyone. I even received calls a few times after 1:30 AM deep in sleep. This is ridiculous. Even our local providers give out our private cell numbers to collectors. Which is not right.

You can go into your phone servicing on line and block these phone numbers - at least I can with ATT service.

Strange! the same number just called my work, (a car dealership), and it was a very LOUD recording about credit cards, and debt or some garbage like that... then i pressed 1 to talk to the person to ask who the call was directed for and all i got was static then a hang-up. weird

Autobot. Calls about my "credit card debt" (I have no credit cards). Pretty annoying. They call back under different numbers even after you've asked to be removed.

Answered the call for a home security system to be installed free by not checking my caller ID.  Pushed the number to speak to a human being.  Told him I'm on the no call list and that I would file a complaint.  His reply?  "Good luck!"  in a very snide tone of voice.  Went ahead and filed the complaint.  Because I'm over 60 the call falls under the elder abuse law in my state, too.

The DNC has greatly reduced the number of calls I get.  And now I KNOW that every telemarketing call that I now get is from CRIMINALS.  Crooks are the ONLY people who will violate the DNC.  If you try calling these folks on the number provided by your caller ID, you'll find that it's not a working number.  That's another clue that these people are crooks.

No, the DNC has made it possible to know when crooks are calling you so you can AVOID being ripped off.  I'd no sooner get rid of the DNC list than I would be in favor of repealing the laws against bank robbery.  Sure, cooks will break the law.  They're crooks after all.  They don't care.  But NOW you have a HEADS UP that they're calling you!

These are robo-calls.  A computer is calling EVERY number starting at 000-000-000 and going to 999-999-9999.  That's how they "got" your number.  The folks at the DNC didn't give your number away.  The crooks doing this scam call EVERYONE.

At least when you're on the DNC you KNOW that anyone making a telemarketing call is a criminal.  So you should just hang up on THEM!

Yep, they are CROOKS.  That's why they hang up on you.  They don't have time to waste on complaints.  They're too busy ripping people off.  All you've done is waste their time.  Hey, GOOD JOB!  EVERYONE SHOULD WASTE THEIR TIME!  Then they'd not have time to rip people off!

When they ask tell them "I have a great security system.  It's made by Smith & Wesson and was designed by Samuel Colt."

Sure the DNC works.  Now you KNOW when you get a call that it's a crook.  Before you weren't sure.  They COULD have been legit.  Now you know they're NOT!  Don't take their call because they're trying to RIP you off.  How do you know?  No LEGITIMATE telemarketer will ignore the DNC.  Only CROOKS ignore it.

If you want to get rid of them, get the free Phone Tray program and use your computer to block them.  Google "phone tray free" to get the program.  You'll need a computer with a telephone modem to read your caller id.

If they're calling your cell phone put their number in your phone book (under the name "IGNORE") and set the ringer to NONE.  Problem solved!

If he's calling that often it's time to PRANK him!  Get one of those CELEBRITY SOUND BOARDS from the Internet and let him talk to Arnold Schwarzenegger's Detective "Frank Kimble" character!

Only CROOKS violate the DNC list.  Legitimate telemarketers will honor it and not call you.  So when you're on the list and get a call, you know it's from a CROOK!  DON'T ANSWER IT or just HANG UP!  Who wants to talk with a crook?

DO NOT CALL List only works on Canadian phone numbers.  Many scammers, telemarketers are able to re route their calls through the states by passing the do not call list.

we need to lobby the govt to expand the do not call list to include all phone numbers, including those from the states, newspapers, charities, and political parties.  
I just don't bother answering my phone anymore,  if I don't know the number I don't answer.  
I refuse to get worked up over it....not worth it...

Established my new phone# just weeks ago and the only calls I receive are telemarketing for security systems or debt collection. Been receiving calls from Caller ID: Gresham OR. They call from multiple #s and leave the same recorded mssg offering to install security system at no cost to you...press "1" for more info or "9" to be removed from their list. Just a generic mssg, no company name given. I finally decided to answer the call so I could press "9". I also decided to get on the "Do Not Call" list today - was hesitant bc I've read that your number will only get added to a "to-delete" file which is provided to the telemarketers (who are supposed to abide by the Do Not Call rules) and may or may not be followed through on by the telemarketers who receive the list and basically just gives them your number a second time on a different list. Not sure how true this is but thought it was time to take my chances. Per the Do Not Call recorded mssg: calls should decrease over the next 30 days and if in 31 days I still receive calls from the same offenders, to file a complaint by calling the same #.

I trouble with the Do Not Call List is they give it out companies who supposedly want to use it to remove those people from their call lists but use it as lead sheet because they think a lot of people put they're names on the list 'cause they are easily scammed.

Number shows on machine as Service Call ! Rang over 15 times till I lifted the phone and hung up. SCAMMERS ! I'm in Canada so there is no way a company in Oregon is going to really install a security system here !

I get calls from these people all the time.  I am on the Do Not Call list, which I personally believe is worthless.  There's no one on the phone when I answer.  When I call back, I get a message that the number isn't a working number. They are a royal pain in the a**.
