I received a robo call from this number in the middle of the night last night.  Something about my debit card....just hung up.

It means his boss doesn't want them to give you any satisfaction because you are on the Do Not call list.  And it allows them to continue calling you.  Just report them and document all the times and phone numbers they call from and give this info. when  you report.  Although I seem to remember that our local news said the DNC was so overwhelmed they were offering to pay anyone who could find a solution.  The best solution I have found is hang up without saying anything and to add them to your blocked #'s.  And you are too kind this Rick guy is no gentleman !!   Hope this helps.

I keep getting calls from them everyday but they never leave a message. I'm starting to get pissed.

I am getting these calls from an unkn caller and I am on DO NOT CALL lists. Please advise me who this number belongs to so I can take appropriate action

It is great that a forum like this exists for us to get organized. Make sure you report each and every call to the feds. I've been doing this and it DOES seem to make a difference. This Skip Tel crap is new to me, have been only getting them for a couple weeks and so far have reported them 4x. Others who were doing the same thing have stopped calling. Although one of the old ones called again this week. Reported them again too.

Remember it does no good to simply come here and gripe. Help yourself, help everyone else, report, report, report!

Call is always from PACTEL, however the number is 971-220-1825. The call is always about registering for online courses. I get these calls 3x-4x per week. I have added this number and the 1944 suffix number to the donotcallregistry, however they keep calling.

I wish the DNC registry actually had some teeth to it so companies like this would be put out of business.

I have gotten a number of these calls from various numbers.  The most recent from PACTEL 971-220-1779.  I complained to the FTC at first.  But now I wonder if this is a scam to get credit card numbers.  I called the NJ office of the FBI if they have similar complaints they may investigate whether or not this is an legitimate organization or something else.

They called today and said they work with Visa/Mastercard to lower interest rates. They ask for the whole account number, it appears they have part of it...the begining part. This may be because certin banks and companies start with certin numbers and they ask which company the card it through. They also ask how much debt you have in total and the interest rates you are paying. They told me they were calling from Flordia, the number was a 971 number which is Portland OR! Her name was Melissa, I think it is a scam!

I get 3-4 calls from Pactel (971-220-1779 and 503-457-1074) I pressed 3 to stop the calls and they called twice more within the hour.  I am on the Do Not Call List, but this does not seem to work.  How do you stop these calls.

Different ph # but caller ID says Skip Tel.  ph # on my caller ID is 206-496-0492 so they must use different numbers.

It won't.  All that does is confirm that they have reached a working number with a live person on the other end and they will call more often as well as add your number to the list of 'good' numbers that all those companies sell or trade amongst themselves.

Filed a complaint at the donotcall registry.  Caller ID said PACTEL so they are going strong.  5th call this month using various numbers and names.  Sometimes it says PACIFTEL or Toll Free Call.  No message is ever left and they hang up if I pick up.

This is harassment.  They call using 3 different 971 extensions.  Sometimes the number shows up as PACTEL.  They call 2 - 3 times per day.  I have filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry.  I am incredibly annoyed by these people/company, and as others have reported they will hang up on you when you mention that you are protected under the "Do Not Call Registry."   PLEASE let's shut this company down.

Class action lawsuit perhaps?  HELP!

This company is the WORST.  They use THREE different phone numbers.  They use a combination of voice recordings which give you an option of opting out of receiving calls, however, even though you opt out they keep calling.  On a separate number that calls when answered there is no voice recording or person at all that answers the phone.  They have been calling every day the last 30 plus days 2 - 5 times a day.  I have tried calling them back to speak with someone in person, however, they do not accept calls with blocked phone numbers.  PLEASE stop this company from its continuing harassment of my home privacy.

I have reported them to the national do-not-call website; they are trying to get your credit card information.  Beware!

Have been getting the same calls except the number is 971-220-1960 and caller ID says it is PACTEL
I too have caller ID which I just recently renewed.  I have also received similar calls from CARD SERVICES  but that number was 253-382-9092.  Very annoying

When Rachael calls and asks if you want to lower your charge card interest rate,
punch the number that she directs you to...then when someone answers....
blow a wistle into the phone until you hear them hang up!  If we all do this,
I beleive we can stop these scammers.

Today it's about the 4th call I've gotten and all 3  previous I've called back and supposedly I'm getting on the do not call back list. They call back, again & again. Do not expect to be on the do not call list. Believe me, I'm on the web trying to see what I can do. I've engaged them, but the minute I ask for a person in charge, they hang up. I don't understand who they are or what they want, but I want to get my phone # off their list. Good luck to you.

It is a felony as of Dec 2010 for company to call without the correct caller id. If you can get their info you can sue them and they have to pay attorney fees. You won't make more than a few thousand dollars but maybe it will stop them calling.

If they are hiding their true id they are criminals and their is no reason to speak to them. They will go out of business if you would stop answering the calls. I turned my answering machines off also. People who answer and answer machines tell the computers to keep calling you and give your number out. Which they sell.

Got a call from this number at 11:12 am today. Same speach as everyone else. I tryed calling the number back and it said disconnected number. From what I understand about the National Do Not Call Registry is that they stop calls from selling something to you. this recording wasnt selling anything so thats how they get around the law.

I just got a call from this #.  They did not leave a message on my answering machine. After reading the comments here, I will be reporting them.
