I got a call from this number and countless others. I purchased the T-K Incoming Pro Call Blocker/Blacklist from Amazon.com. It blocks up to 1,500 numbers, and works like a charm. They call, I hit the blacklist button, and when they call back the phone rings once and the scammers are disconnected.

We all agree this is annoying, but let's keep the politics out of this.
Not only do the Republicans lie, they ALL lie, especially that Black Muslim that's in the White House right now.
Madonna had it right even though she claimed to be joking!!!
Keep voting for the Black Muslim and we will eventually be a Communist country.

Despite the fact that the company that manufactured the Telebouncer is out of business, you can buy a new one on Amazon or Ebay right now for about $100. So far as I can tell it is the only thing that works. Read the customer reviews on Amazon and learn how it works. There are several ways you can set it up, but the principal one is to require all callers to press "1" to ring through either to your phone or the answering machine. It's a minor imposition on my friends and family but defeats the robot dialers and thereby takes back my phone from the telescammers. Sure beats trying to blacklist the bad guys and their fictitious phone numbers one by one.

Make them stop! Enough already...every other day or two the calls continue to come in.

Same here. Funny thing is I don't have any credit cards and haven't had any in more than ten years. So I don't need the interest rate lowered. I'm debt free and don't need their business.

scumbags just called, left no message.

I'm with the rest of you. I have reported them to the DNCL to no avail. I have reported ALL the numbers that I received in one week, which amounted to about 40 different numbers. Not only do I get them on my house phone, they are now calling me on my cell phone! I just want them to stop!
Robert 2012-09-06 20:42:38 Unknown
They want you to verify your credit card number so they can use it after you hang up. Lower my interest rate? But first they need your account number, names on the card, ex dates and most of all the secret number. At this point, if you gave out this information, your screwed.
Never Never Never give anyone your Credit Card or Social Security number to anyone that calls you. Never give out your information to anyone that comes to your door either.
If they ask for me by name, I just say, please hold. Then I walk away and get some coffee. Later I'll come back and say, please hold, your call is very important to us. Then later, if the person is still waiting, I'll say, witch credit card will you be using. It $9.99 a minute starting from when you first called. The billing phone number is?
It breaks up the afternoon.

I'm glad to see other people are harassing these callers too. As for the Astoria, Oregon numbers they use those numbers to throw people off. I remember I got one from 503-468-5110 and after I got one of them so ticked off after I hung up on him he called me right back and the number was from Pa. 267-329-7005. They probably open the number under a false name so they it can't be traced back to their company.
Yes Some of the calls are from real companies. On the interest rate deal they will charge hundreds of dollars for trying to get you lower rates if you ever give them your card number. They are violating the law so they try to hide their true idenity.

Correct, but WHY do people answer numbers they don't know, and then WHY do they call them back? Got an Uncle Walter in Washington? Aunt Sally in Seattle? No? Then why take the call? 99% of these con artists would go away if people would resist "wondering who is calling". Curiosity killed the cat you know.

These scammers use software to make their numbers up - that's why the Feds can't track them - usually they are in India, Nigeria, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan and can't be touched. Just block each number, but they will make up more.
Kat 2012-09-06 19:25:32 Telemarketer
These people call from many, many different numbers. They switch frequently, so blocking them does no good. They are scammers who have been doing this for years. There is no way to get off their list whatsoever. These morons really need to be shut down.

I don't pick up; they don't leave a message. Caller ID: "Out of Area" I am also on the DNC list.

They kept hanging up on me. I ask to be removed. I've reported them to donotcall.gov. I call them back and it states I am removed. They still keep calling. I gave up asking. Now I press 1 and when they answer I hold an electronic rape horn up to the mouthpiece for a long while. I figure if I have to answer then they can go deaf. : )

Why not make the ringtone silent?
bd 2012-09-06 18:00:23 Unknown
Some times I screw with them and keep them on the line for 10 to 15 mins, before I explain to them that it's the only way I have to show my frustration. One guy started swearing and ranting. He called back to swear some more. I just told him, "great, just keep wasting your time. In the meantime it saves some poor person from getting scammed". He didn't call back again.

Credit Card Services - trying to get me to "lower my rates" - when I told them I don't have any credit cards and to removed me, this A$$tard named TIM hung up on me!

This is "Credit Card Services", trying to get you to re-fi all your card debt with them.
As soon as I said I had no credit cards, this A$$tard named TIM hung up on me.

Got a call from 971-333-8934. Waited for their representative to answer. Told the guy I was
on the DNC registery, called him a gay boy. Waited for a response, when I got none I hung up.
I have no problem using curse words or even the "N" word .The government won't do anything
so I'll take matters into my own hands.

Too bad... The Galaxy auto reject list can handle 100.
wild billly 2012-09-06 00:56:09 Unknown
I used to get dozens of calls from these idiots. If you ask to be put on the do not call list regardless if you talk to a live person or wait till the end of the call and press a key, it makes no difference these pests keep breaking the law considering I'm on the do not call list for years for all the good it does.
Guess what that is a way to never hear from these morons again... if you have a "smart" phone like the Samsung Galaxay SII. Next time these morons call, write the number from you cell phone's log, and if your phone has the feature (many smart phones do) just add to your auto reject list. The call is automatically blocked and these a-holes are defeated. Since getting my Galaxy, I already nailed 5 different pests... ah... silence is golden.

I just received a call from 971-333-8934. I pressed "1" to talk to a customer service agent so I could asked to be taken off their call list. I was very friendly, asked who I was speaking to "Joe, in Card Services" and when I said (nicely) "please take me off your call list" -- before I even finished he said "ah shut up!" and hung up. These people should have legal action against them.
a regular target 2012-09-06 00:19:32 Unknown
Three such calls rec'd today including one from this number. It died in the answering machine each time but I sometimes mess with their heads by waiting until the person comes on the line and telling them straight-out "Can't wait to see you in handcuffs, a**hole." Have gotten some funny responses to that; it still seems to be a bit unexpected. One guy shouted at me. Another with an Indian accent actually called me back to rant that such language was unnecessary. I guess he can scam people all day long but they cannot call him names? These people belong in jail, every one of them.
And what is it about Astoria, Oregon, anyway? I'm waiting for the Wall Street Journal expose that explains that the offices above the storefronts are filled with minimum-wage call centers known to everyone in what cannot be more than a small city. Who and what protects these criminal enterprises, anyway? Who protects Windstream Corporation, which makes money knowingly leasing them their lines? Whay politicians are on the take?

I have received numerous calls from 119713338934 or 1-971-333-8934 regarding lowering your credit card interest rate. I have told this Company, which I add have numerous different phone numbers, they are calling a not call phone number, please remove it from their call list. Ha-Ha it is like talking to the wall. When is our Government going to hire the unemployed , put them to work and stop this insane calls! I have reported the different phone numbers without have this company stop calling. When asked what Company they represent they list all the credit cards names. Then they hang up when I say you have called a do not call phone number.
