Listen, they are harassing me over a car THAT BELONGS TO ME. No lien. It's in MY name and it's paid for. Explain that one. By the way, I am a used car dealer. So, what's REALLY going on with this company??

Are you the famous Frank Abagnale from the movie "Catch Me If You Can"? If so, it's nice to meet you online. What a pleasant surprise. If not, you're very convincing.

These guys are idiots. They really aren't all that great at skip tracing. Easily 2 or 3 months behind every step I take. What I find most humorous is that they get on these forums and defend themselves with the same crap. "someone signed a contract and can't pay their bills," blah blah blah. How about the fact that they call and lie about what it is they are calling about? They try to make it sound like you just came on some money from some insurance claim, but in reality, you are the insurance claim. And that is the interesting part, the insurance claim. From what I gather, the bank bought an insurance policy against the vehicle that they have a lien for. The insurance company is likely a subsidiary of Roquemore, meaning that Roquemore bought the lien on your vehicle via an insurance policy, likely for cents on the dollar because after the bank sells it, they just write it off. So instead of losing money, the banks just dont pay taxes because they write off all their bad debt, even though they sold the bad dept. But it doesn't matter, because if the bank goes under, they will just lobby politicians to bail them out anyway.
Moral of the story: Roquemore & Roquemore buy debts for fractions on the dollar, after the bank said to hell with it and wrote it off on taxes. Then Roquemore comes after the little guys for a debt that technically doesn't even exist anymore, from a person who never signed a contract with Roquemore in the first place. Which leads me to a possible loop hole: America is a land of contracts. If Roquemore is trying to take your property, make sure they PROVE that you owe that debt. And the only way to actually prove a debt, is by producing the CONTRACT, which is a physical document with an original signature on it. Not a copy of a signature, an ORIGINAL. If in a court of law you are ever shown a copy of your signature and asked if it is yours, the answer is no. It is not your signature, it is a copy of a signature and with technology today, it is extremely easy to photoshop signatures. Try it out! If they do happen to still have the original contract on file, at least you put up a fight.

they guys are crooks. They can not tell anyone about your case that is not on the paper work.
before you talk to them call this number 323-988-2400 they helped me out with a different company in fact I walked away with 500 bucks in my pocket and owed the collector nothing and it didn't cost me a dime.
MK 2011-06-06 21:08:22 Unknown
Well Jill,I'm afraid that you are wrong on all counts.Think what you want to think. I am sorry that you feel that you have to attack me, because that is usually a sign of low self esteem.I don't know you, but my guess is that you have experience in the "debt collecting " game yourself, and I have a feeling that you are not one of those on the receiving end(if you get my drift.)
I feel no malice toward you, and as much fun as it has been bantering with you, I feel I must make this my last message to you. It's been fun, parting is such sweet sorrow and all that good stuff.
Have a wonderful life and be careful out there.
MK 2011-06-06 21:08:22 Unknown
Jill, these people work for bill collectors and do their dirty work for the.Check out their site. I have no idea why they contacted me or who they are working for.All I know is that they have the wrong person and they had better watch their step. If you want to know who they are check out their site.
Thank you for telling me that I'm clueless when I know very well who these people are and how they operate, and judging someone that you don't know. It is my sincere wish that they never come after you.
You have a nice day as well.
MK is an idiot 2011-06-06 21:08:22 Unknown
MK, these people are not Bill Collectors - they find people who are running away with a car or other piece of collateral that they can not afford. What ever the reason that the person can not pay for it, they signed a contract that gives the lender the right to take possession of the collateral and sell it in order to get some of the money back that they loaned the individual. Believe me when I tell you that the lienholder would rather work with you instead of going through the hassle of selling your car to get back a fraction of what you borrowed from them to buy it. I know the owners of this company and they would rather have the two parties work it out instead of having a repo man go out and pickup the property or worse yet, have them arrested for hiding the property - And yes it does happen.
So it is obvious that you have no clue about anything that you said. If you were that wrong about these people, then it should make everyone else question anything that comes out of your mouth. It's people like you in this world that jump to conclusions or say things that they have not researched, that makes it difficult for the rest of us to determine what is the truth.
You are probably that person who forwards emails to everyone else in your address book without making sure it is correct. Have a nice day.
Jill 2011-06-06 21:08:22 Unknown
MK, judging from your obvious familiarity with debt collectors ("I've been dealing with scumbags like this for a long time")one thing kind of sticks out.
My guess would be that they all didn't just, "have the wrong person," when they contacted you.
MK 2011-06-06 21:08:22 Unknown
Excuse me, Jill, but I've been dealing with scumbags like this for a long time. Most of them won't take you to court because it costs them more money and it's easierfor them to write it off. A lot of honest , hardworking people owe money because of a medical emergency and these bloodsuckers prey on them. And the bankruptcy law that Congress passed didn't help. (If you want to discuss accountabilty, talk to the President. I think someone should foreclose on the White House.)
Take these Roquemore vultures, for instance.(and theres a lot of sleazebags like them) We do not have an outstanding account with anyone. They are probably looking for someone that shares my last name, , as it is common.
Thank you for your advice. I have contacted the FTC on several occasions, and the cease communication letters have worked.
In short, these people can't make you do anything unless you roll over and die. Again, if anyone is dealing with these coackroaches, again contact this
website;
http://www.budhibbs.com/
Remember, they go after the easy targets, so don't bend over for them.
, and these people will be dealt with. The attorney generals of both states will be contacted.
Jill 2011-06-06 21:08:22 Unknown
MK, you are only partially correct. If a collection agency calls you about a debt that you owe, you can certainly send a cease and desist letter. However, that doesn't mean you don't have to pay a legitimate debt. Lots of people get that part wrong. The agency and or the creditor can still file a lawsuit or take any other legal action against you to collect. Here is some good advice. If you owe a debt, pay it. If you don't owe it tell them and send them something in writing. If they continue to call file a complaint with the FTC. If you owe it and can't pay it, try and work something out.

Jill you should get a life and grow up. If some was contacting you they most likely did not have the wrong person, and if they did a simple call back to them could clear this issue up. Its people like you that have been scorned in life, that have to take time to write frivolous comments just so they can blame other people in life for your own short coming's. What you need to do is to look in the mirror and ask your self why you hate your self, when you find out please write me back I would love to hear what you have to say.
James 2011-06-06 21:08:22 Unknown
Roquemore and Roquemore is a collateral location company which likes to claim that they are not covered by the FDCPA. Yet, they do in some cases function in the role of a collection agency and therefore are under the FDCPA.

I just got teh 2nd phone call, regarding my son. They toldme how horrible of a mother I was, for raising such a bad man?!?! Really, ....they then went on to tell me that my son had stolen a motorcycle. They have already visited my sons home & spoke to him, searched his home, etc...The "vehicle" in question isn't even a motorcycle it is a 4-wheeler. It is on of 4, that he lost when he lost his job, home & cars...when they picked up theother 3, they somehow lost one. Two years later, since they picked them up, they come harrassing him for the 4th 4-wheeler (that they seem to have misplaced). What is weird is why they are calling me? Why are they telling me all these specs, when I have nothing to do with it...My son is a 35 year old adult, I am not on the loan papers & he lived 300 miles away. Isn't it illegal to disclose such information to anyone but the parties involved? Also, isn't against the law to threaten me & my "entire family"? Are they scared to continue to talk to my son? So they think they can intimidate a senior citizen on a fixed income, into paying them hush money? I asked them if they were a debt collector or collection agency, they said no...they said they were bointy hunters?? Wouldn't that mean there is a "bounty" out on my son, and I know for a fact that this is a lie.
I will be recording all future calls from them, & suggest everyone does the same. They are a sick and lawless bunch of fools. I'm kind of looking forward to another call....and so is my son.

Since they don't seem to have a problem with violating C&D orders, verifying bankruptcy filings, etc. then perhaps Mr. Roquemore wouldn't mind if we posted his home address of 2925 Club Meadow Dr, Garland, TX on a bulletin board site. According to the Dallas County Assessor this is a homesteaded property titled to Rod Roquemore at the same address.

This group is getting resourceful. They have extended their phone numbers to 972-226-8266. Same company, Roquemore and Roquemore, and an individual that implies that he is an attorney by the name of Rod Walker. This call is trying to put pressure and threaten us because my wife's daughter is in repo procedures with her car. We have no idea where she or the car is.

Please contact them at their real address below. They never provide this cos they hide inside a building and call you to harass you, so they know that there are a lot of angry people outside of their building...LOL
They did a credit check on my friend( of course without his consent - which is illegal too) and their real address was published on his credit report:

This is a nasty collections agency that will go after anyone who is found to be a distant friend of the debtor. They will go to your work place and tell your colleagues that YOU are involved in an illegal activity(if one of your friends' car is out for repossession) and try to ruin your life to pressurize you to give information on your friend or relative.
Please dont let these criminals break the law and mess with you when even you are not the debtor. Even if you are the debtor, they CANNOT harass you at your work place.
If you go to their website: www.roquemore.com/ they do not have their real address published, but only a postal address. If you really want to contact them and warn them not to harass you, you have to send a certified mail to their real address so that they cannot say that they didn't receive it. Send a certified mail and let them know that next time they contact you, you will take legal action.
Please see their real address below :
Roquemore & Roquemore
329 Oaks Trail Suite 212

You should directly contact the chief criminal of that company who is a dude by the name Rod Roquemore(http://www.roquemore.com/president.htm).
They never give out their real address nor does Rod Roquemore ever come to the phone if you try to contact them. They did a credit check on one of my friends and their real address was published on a credit report my friend received.
