I received a call from this number. They claimed to be Microsoft calling in regards to a computer that had been reported as having problems. I had called Dell earlier, but, as the warranty had expired they were unable to assist without charge. I thought it odd Microsoft would call and volunteer to help. As the guy started talking he asked if I could access the internet? I thought he meant with that computer and said "No, I can't get the Network or Modem drivers to install correctly." Then, he asked if I could go on line with another computer? I said wait a minute, grabbed paper and a pencil and asked for the url. It didn't start out as a Microsoft, Dell or any website I recognized. I asked why I was supposed to go there? He said to download a program, put it on a flash drive and install it o to the one I was having trouble with. Then, he started saying how they weren't going to charge me until I had downloaded the program and the price wouldn't be as much as Microsoft charged. (Okay, wait a minute. At the beginning of the call he had stated he was calling FROM Microsoft.)??
Bells started ringing, quite loudly!!! My sister had received a call about six weeks ago, from someone claiming to be either Microsoft or HP, saying they could tell online she was having trouble with her computer. Unfortunately, she followed their directions, and downloaded their program, which promptly highjacked her main page and as she was trying to correct it, crashed her computer. It messed her computer up so badly we had to to a complete reinstall of the system.
Recalling this, I informed the man I was unwilling to spend anything on the computer as it wasn't mine. He wanted me to contact the owner and get her consent. Again, I refused. He argued it would be worth it to get her computer back on line. I told him I could get it online quite well by installing a Linux System along side the Windows. He got quite heated, claiming I'd ruin the computer.  I informed him the computer I use to go on line is a Linux based system and that would be the computer used to download his program. He hung up!!

They are relentless but I don't let them bully me which they like to do. There former phone # was in New York now its coming from PA.

I just contacted the FTC, and they tell me there is nothing they can do since the calls are usually generated outside the U.S.
Pretty much the only recourse is to change your phone number, or block each number as they come in. Ugh!

Has anyone managed to stop them?
They first called under one number, and then I blocked it at home and work.
A few weeks later they called again from a different number. Now I must block that one...
Just wondering how much longer they'll keep this up!

I just received a phone call from Ray Parker phone number (818)302-7511.  He stated I owed a pay day company $1479 and i was being sued.  He even gave me a case file.  I immediately hung up and called my attorney.  My attorney then returned the call and asked for his supervisor.  The man became belligerent.  They had all my information including my social security number.  Very scary.  It's a scam do not give them money.

Spoke with a guy named Brian Johnson (who called me at work) and said he was from UNLD Collections and that I owe his client $611 dollars.  According to him, they deposited $350 into my bank account.  I told him I had no idea what he was talking about and that if he called me again, I would file a harassment report.

I recieve multiple calls per day within a minute of each other from 970-173-667. The message is from a John Fernandez, who has a very strong accent. I called the number left on my voicemail on Saturday and "John" stated that unless I want to resolve the "issue" I was getting sued. He stated that I could ask questions after he read a statement to me regarding the charges they were suing me about. I listen and once I stated asking questions "john" got very threating and didn't have any answers. He told me I had $450 deposited into my account (which never happened!!!!) and that the compnay that gave me the money had all the suppporting evidence to prove it. I was transfer to a "brian Johnson" to make payment arrangments. I did set up the arrangements but as soon as I got off phone I contacted my bank to double check the deposit and currently all my accounts are frozen so they cannot get any money. When you ask questions, they have no asnwers they just start with the threats! The call back number I was given was 863-873-2770 that number lists to Avon Park, FL and the 970 number that comes through on my cell phone when they call is from CO, USA but the number isn't even complete.

They are still at it.  I have received so many calls I have given up trying to keep track of them.  They have my s.s. number and insist that I have had money deposited into my account from their client, but that they can not send me any written information about what company deposited the money into my account.  Of course they state that if I send the money I owe then they will send the information I request, but not before.  They have even resorted to sexually explicit harassment on the phone when I question them and tell them I have reported them to the attorney general's office, etc.

I also panicked when they first starting calling me because I was always at work.  I stupidly gave them about $300 dollars until I took the time to begin investigaing and found postings similar to my experience.   Ignore them....the calls will stop for a while, but then probably begin again (as in my case).  Keep ignoring them and keep hanging up.

I have received 2 phone calls from this Mike Stephenson, who sounds like Obama, and exactly like someone who called me from overseas threatening me and my social security number.  With all of the spyware we have these days it would only figure that the government could do something about these scammers who leach off of legit web pages and steal others important info.

A man keeps leaving me voice mails on my cell phone claiming that if I do not contact him regarding a "legal" matter he "wishes me luck" and that I better "not ignore his calls".  The first time he called I answered and was worried when he said I was being sued and that he had sent over 300 emails warning me of a pending case regarding a company that deposited money into my checking account back in December.  The man would not give me any further details and I could not understand him.  I hung up on him and he keeps calling back. Just ignore the calls because if any of us were being sued we would have to be notified, in writing and have time to get a lawyer/public defender and present our case.  Don't fall for these foreign a**hole scams!

I got a call from "hobbeeb" claiming to be Greg Forrester from the United Nations Legal Department claiming that he needed to contact me about an urgent time sensitive matter.  I was given the call-back number of 972-332-2888.  He told me if I disregarded the voicemail, he wished me good luck as all will unfold around me.  He also wished me to have a 'blessed day'...

I thought Allah wanted all americans to suffer instead of having a blessed day.... Oh!!!  I know... the 72 virgins got wise and decided they weren't going to bed with Hobbeeb unless he paid them and made it worth their while.  Damn prostitutes!  Anyways, the next time they call.... have fun with them.... have a friend of yours answer in spanish and laugh as they get confused.

My husband received a call from a "Officer Sam Wilson from the UNLD" stating that my husband was being sued for benefits from his social security.  My husband told me about it right away and I KNEW it was a scam as my husband and I are no where near the age of collecting our SSI benfits.  Being the spitfire that I am, I called the "Officer" back at the number they left.  A Man with a thick accent answered and put me on hold (to really bad Casio Keyboard sounding music.....not at all professional).  When the so called Sam Wilson got on the phone I told him that I knew they were scam artists and unless they wanted us to contact our local authorities and the Federal Trade Commission I would suggest they not call back.  He then started screaming at me and said he could kill me if he wanted to or put me in jail.  I told him I was recording the call and he immediately hung up.  I researched these people and there are all kinds of complaints about them.  It is a scam to get financial information out of you and extort money out of you.  BEWARE!!  If you get a call from these people (and they go by MANY names)  don't fall for the scare tactics, and DO NOT give them any information!!  Call the Federal Trade Commission immediately at 1-877-382-4357 and file a report.  These scammers are relentless  and will continue to call you and your employer with this nonsense! (It's also a good idea to let your employer know so that they don't unknowingly give out sensitive information)  The FTC says to tell these scammers that you contacted the Federal Trade Commission and the authorities and that they are wasting their time trying to scam you.

I keep getting calls from a Spencer Reid who says he is from UNLD and say threatening thing like I will be in big trouble if I don't call him back and it is against my name and my Social Security.  The number he called me from was 646-499-6419. I have been called many, many times by 972-332-2888 with threats as well.

I have had threatening calls by a Marcus Williams and a Sean Williams from the phone numbers  415-226-1506 and 954-639-9259, but sometimes it shows up as 0000 or 907-00098 1728.

All of these people have a heavy accent from India. I have been called at work as well. I do not answer any of these calls.

One time she I did answer I told them I had nothing in writing and I would like some proof in writing of what he was saying. He acted like he was flustered and I never received anything in writing.
