This is another example of a long line of calling schemes designed to trick toll free end user subscribers. This call violates federal laws which regulate automated dialing.  The calls is meant to trick the recipient into believing the call is legitimate (for political or non-profit purposes), however tehse are not permitted for this purpose.  The goal is to irritate and harass the recipient.

The FCC has NEVER done anything to stop these calls.

The best thing you can do is ALWAYS report such calls here and ideally to the FCC, but believe me, the FCC wont do anything to stop this.

These calls are designed to hurt AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and other carriers who have Resp Orgs.  To cause the customer to cancel. So the numbers can be snapped up by others.

These kinds of calls have gone on since 2004 in a wide variety of schemes.

My suggestion is to always report the activity and your name and contact information to tollfreenumbers.com owner Bill Quimby as he is a legitimate actor and can assemble the information.

We are getting tons of these at our call center - anyone know who is making the calls.  It looks to be an out of service message on an active southwestern bell number.

Just called on my toll free. Automated call telling me to check on my congressman by going to house.gov. Who is paying for this and now it is costing me money since I pay for toll calls I answer? What's up with this? Are they testing numbers? Trying to make sneaky money? What? Anybody else get these weird calls?
