Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Many of these scammers are not even in the US.. and it takes time to put a stop to these things let alone catch the criminals involved provided the foreign country is co-operating.  Even in the US its hard with spoofed CID's being used. Time it takes.. it doesn't happen in a hour like on CSI TV.

What you can do is consider buying a call blocking device or phone..

I feel Maggie's pain because they also called my house and I told them if you don't stop calling I will report this number and any other number they call from to the FBI and whoever else I need to report to.  This is very annoying and they need to be stop quick.

How come the govt or law enforcements do not stop these people!!

The caller from this number identified himself as Jacob Williamson - with a strong India accent - he scammed me out of $240.00.  The mother f****rs started a war right after I told him I reported him to the FBI (PayPal has the account number I put the money in and they advised me it was a personal account).  He started having other callers harassing me - Lousey piece of crap from hell - they talk about being so religious etc well they are purely the devil and have no right on this earth!1 I am called a white witch because when people screw me something alway bad happens to him.  So watch out you group pieces of dirt!!!

These are east indian scammers--offer large loan approval of 3K to 6K but want money up front.  You will never get this loan.  And remember, never pay for a loan. check them out like i did before even speaking with them.  

Got Scammed out of 275.00 by this Tony Williams. So say he's a loan officer

David chambers called me about a 6000$ loan. Put money on a moneypak and now that is gone

I lost 600 to this and don't know how to get it back

I received numerous calls on my cell phone telling me that my application for a $6000 payday loan was approved. Being I didn't apply, I started calling back and talked to a person named David Chambers. Then he said David didn't exist. I told him the conversation was being recorded and that he needed to send me a copy of the loan application....which he refused. He said he was n't able to do such a thing and called me stupid. I told him that I was going to continue to call him every 10 minutes until I got tired of calling. Sounds like Far Easterners. Location is Plano, Texas and there are numerous complaints. Call your local police if you get a call.

HOW DOES PATROL AND CRIMINAL , AND DEPT COLLECTORS COME UNDER  PATROL DIVISION WHO THEN STATES THAT MY NUMBER IS BEING INVESTIGATED BECAUSE I'M INVESTIGATING A NUMBER?
