I have received calls from this number multiple times a day for the last 3 weeks.  How do we block this from our cell phones?

would like to know who this is they keep waking me up every nite around 1:00 am or 1:30 every day

Its a call from a jail or prison these places use this service, its no one place its nation wide its a prepaid service for someone in jail or prison to call you.

THE DO NOT CALL PROGRAM SEEMS  TO BE A JOKE! I'VE HAD IT FOR OVER A YEAR AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED. THE CALLS COME ALL DAY FROM TOO MANY POLICIANS, I BELIEVE AND HAVE TRACED SOME.

I couldn't hear the name or what correctional place, so I didn't accept,  where is this number from ?

I received a call from dis number it was bf in  Pulaski county jail I recirved a 60 sec phone call by pressing 5 I loaded 25 dollars and received 2 10 minute calls

They called me twice yesterday, I did not answer the number didn't seem familiar, so I did a reverse look up. And found out that I am not the only one getting called from this number.

Global Tel Link is a company that allows inmates from jails across the country to call you collect.  It is outrageously priced.  If you live in an area outside of where the jail is located and for example an inmate in Georgia calls someone in Virginia one 30 minute call would be $25.00.  However if an inmate in Georgia calls someone in Georgia the calls are on average of $2-$3 per 30 minute call.  To accept the calls you have to prepay Global Tel Link in advance and then the call from the inmate will go through to you.  If you are receiving a call from this number most likely someone you know is in jail and trying to get in touch with you.  Rarely do inmates make calls to random numbers.  Hopefully the inmate has written you a letter telling you where they are.  Inmates only are allowed free calls the first couple hours of arrest and then you are pretty much not able to call anyone unless someone opens up a Global Tel Link account.

My boyfriend has been getting these calls on his cell phone the past couple of days. His ex wife is in greenville county on a faikure to appear. I thought it may have been her until reading these post.

This is a phone set up for prisons I have a friend in prison and this is what comes up when he calls.
If you wait through the whole recording it will give you the option to talk to the person for 60 seconds for free after that you will be able to not take the call or set up the account to get calls in the future.

How does this company work? Can i call them,with a specific prison snd them be able to set up an account? My sons dad is incarcerated and one call currently costs $4. If i can save some money that would be really helpful.

Global tel link charges like 11 dollars for a 15 minute collect call from prison if it's a state prison...if it's a county jail they charge like 24 dollars for 20 minutes.

Received a call from this number.  Some type of recorded message which I coulf not understand.

I received a call from this number and three other similar numbers today.  No one  know is locked up and if they were I certainly wouldn't want them calling my cell at all hours of the day!  

I called the number Scott posted in an earlier message here and had them block my number...here's hoping it works.

Well I guess that it's an inmate from the prison in Columbia, which makes somewhat of sense that they got me since I have an 843 number which is a Charleston number. I am guessing that it was a wrong number as I don't know anyone in prison or even anyone in Columbia for that matter...

I have been getting calls from this number for like the last 2 weeks and I have no idea whts going on. It says it's a collect call from an inmate but I ant understand the name. Is this a prank or scam or just some random dialer? Usually my phone actually disconnects itself but still the calls continue about 3 times a day. What's the deal with this?

Just got a call from this number. It said you have a collect call from the state pen center. Looked up number and its from texas.

please stop these calls coming to my number because I do not anyone in texas.

I have been getting calls on my cell phone from 972-372-1105 at least twice a day since the beginning of this month (January, 2013).  I do not answer the calls but they keep coming in.  Is there anyway you can stop this type of unsolicited, unwanted calls from unknown persons.

I just receieved a call from this same number and couldnt understand what his name was. I have no clue how they got my number and would like for them to stop calling.
