I have been receiving the same call. I have also just got an auto loan from Capital One.

The 972 area code is in Texas.

I don't have a loan through them and they keep calling my office, but never leave a message.

They called my twice today, the second time I answered and they wanted to verify my info on a vehicle that I purchases a week ago.  I told them I did not give any info over the phone and after a few attempts to persuade the caller gave up and told me to call their Customer Service Center to verify the info.  Get this, he never gave me the customer service number, he just hung up.  

For everyones safety you should NEVER give any info over the phone even if the caller is for real, businesses can mail you info if they really need to verify anything.

i have just got a loan for a vehicle and have gotten a call from the number and when i answer it hange up on me. never a voice mail or anyone on the line.

also have capital one auto loan, got two calls from two different numbers, but no message.  if i don't recognize your number, i don't answer.  if you leave no message, you are SOL....

They call all the time even though you have payments scheduled.

Just got a Cap One Auto loan a couple of weeks ago. I've received numerous calls from three separate numbers. All 972 area codes. Since when do major lenders call from local ani's? No messages left either.

I got several calls from this number today.  No messages left.  I answered it a few minutes ago because I was getting irritated (btw, this call I answered was at 8:07pm).  The person's voice had some digital processing and they claimed to be from Capital One.  They said "This is a welcome call for your new auto loan.  I need you to verify your address."  I said, "Why don't you tell me my address if I have a loan with you."  She said, "We cannot give your address over the phone for security reasons."  I said, "Well, neither can I."  I asked her why her voice was had some sort of processed effect, and she ignored the question and said. "Sir, this is a welcome call from Capital One."  I said, "This is a welcome call?  Well, thanks then, goodbye."  Irritating.  What a dumb bank.  I can't wait to refinance.

I also have a Cap1 auto loan, brand new - no missed payments, so it's not a collection call. They leave no message. My rule is, no message, no return call. They call me at least 10 times during the day and there is no reason for it. I refuse to answer, especially when I'm working.

WARNING!  Phone phishing.  Caller asks to "verify" personal and financial information claiming to be from Capital One, but could not verify his credentials.  Do not give any information in an unsolicited incoming phone call. Consumer agencies reported this to be suspicious behavior and to notify authorities and Capital One if you receive a call from this phone number.

Received my a call from this number today.  I just got  automotive financing from Capital One one week ago and it looks like that is who it is from the other posts.  I cannot believe my car dealership gave them my cell phone number, first off.  Secondly, if someone asks for me by name (mispronunciation and all), whether or not is on my cell phone or not, and I hear call center background, I tell them it is the wrong number.  NOBODY should EVER fail to identify themselves when they are calling from a legitamate business.

I just got an auto loan with Capital One also. Ive been getting this calls several times a day. They dont leave message on answer machine.

I too have a prepaid phone plan and no affiliation with Capital One.  I have not answered any of their calls.

Same here...Just got a Capital One auto loan.  When they call my phone it doesn't ring....I just get a "Missed Call" report.  They leave no message.  (The call actually comes from three different numbers in Plano...all 378 exchanges.)

They are calling me on my pay-as-you-go phone. I finally got around to calling this number back after they called me about 10 times. They are Capital One Auto and Capital One credit card. I am currently reporting them to the Better Business Bureau since I have no transactions with them and I am also on the federal no call list. Hopefully they will get fined.

Im pretty sure this is Capital One.  Got a call as well and Capital One is out of Plano, Texas so it sounds pretty likely.

did not answer, no msg left. i did get a capital one auto loan a few weeks ago though.

its capital one... collections. its probably their system that auto-dials for collections.

this is not identity theft or collection agency.
just got a loan with capital one auto finance a week ago,they didnt leave a message,but it doesnt matter,but it is there number.

they are trying to confirm your loan and information.

Receive multiple calls throughout the day with no messages left.  Cannot find out who it is when I try to return the call.

They have been calling me all day long every 45 min or so, no messages. Annoying!

These guys keep calling and calling, what sucks is that they are looking for my co-worker who by the way is a total douche-bag, I can't believe he would put us thru this hell. Next time they call I will give them his cell # turn the heat over on him. The worst thing is this is an emergency line for a Police Dept.

Calling my cell phone 10 times a day at all hours. No messages left. Does not give name. Could be an identidity THEFT organization. The same person keeps calling all the time.

We just received our 4th phone call within four days.  No one answers when you say "Hello," nor do they leave a message on voice mail.  I tried to block their number, but was unable to.

I have NEVER had any account with them!!!!!  What can be done legally to stop these annoying phone calls?

This is CAPITAL ONE AUTO FINANCE in Dallas, Texas.  They start calling the first day into your 15 day "grace period" on your auto loan and if you don't answer, their computer redials every 50 minutes from 8 am to 9 pm local time until you answer.  Even when you make arrangments to pay before your 15 day "grace period" expires, they will continue to call daily until they receive your payment.

Please stop calling me every hour and weekends.  I do not want any products or extended warranties or credit cards.  If I want these things I will call.
If its important leave a message and I will call back.
